13 5.0 Installation equirements and Considerations The following sections identify the system requirements for installing and activating Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm. The following terminology is used: Driving system: the system used to install the program. Target system: the system on which the program is intended to run. In many cases, the same system can be used as both a driving system and a target system. However, you may want to set up a clone your system to use as a target system by making a separate IPL-able copy the running system. The clone must include copies all system libraries that SMP/ updates, copies the SMP/ CSI data sets that describe the system libraries, and your PAMLIB and POCLIB. Some cases where two systems must be used include the following: When installing a new level a product that is already installed, the new product will delete the old one. By installing onto a separate target system, you can test the new product while still keeping the old one in production. When installing a product that shares libraries or load modules with other products, the installation can disrupt the other products. Installing onto a test system or clone will allow you to assess these impacts without disrupting your production system. 5.1 Driving System equirements This section describes the environment the driving system required to install Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm Machine equirements The driving system can run in any hardware environment that supports the required stware Programming equirements Figure 5. 16 5.2.3 DASD Storage equirements Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm libraries can reside on all supported DASD types. Figure 9 on page 12 lists the total space required for each type library. Figure 9. Total DASD Space equired by Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm Library Type Total Space equired Target 628 tracks 3390 Distribution 628 tracks 3390 Notes: 1. If you are installing into an existing environment that has the data sets in Figure 12 on page 14 and Figure 13 on page 15 already allocated, ensure sufficient disk space and directory blocks are available to support the requirement listed. This might require you to reallocate some data sets to avoid x37 abends. 2. Use system determined block sizes for efficient DASD utilization for all non-cfm U data sets. For CFM U data sets, a block size is recommended, which is the most efficient from a performance and DASD utilization perspective. 3. The following abbreviations are used for the data set type: U S Unique data set, allocated by this product and used only by this product. To determine the correct storage needed for this data set, this table provides all required information; no other tables (or program directories) need to be referenced for the data set size. Shared data set, allocated by this product and used by this product and others. To determine the correct storage needed for this data set, the storage size given in this table needs to be added to other tables (perhaps in other program directories). If the data set already exists, it must have enough free space to accommodate the storage size given in this table. xisting shared data set, used by this product and others. This data set is NOT allocated by this product. To determine the correct storage needed for this data set, the storage size given in this table needs to be added to other tables (perhaps in other program directories). This existing data set must have enough free space to accommodate the storage size given in this table. If you currently have a previous release this product installed in these libraries, the installation this release will delete the old one and reclaim the space used by the old release and any service that had been installed. You can determine whether or not these libraries have enough space by deleting the old release with a dummy function, compressing the libraries, and comparing the space requirements with the free space in the libraries. For more information on the names and sizes the required data sets, please refer to 6.1.8, Allocate SMP/ Target and Distribution Libraries on page All target and distribution libraries listed have the following attributes: 12 Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm Program Directory

17 The default name the data set may not be changed. The default block size the data set may be changed. The data set may not be merged with another data set that has equivalent characteristics. 5. All target libraries listed have the following attributes: The data set may be SMS-managed. It is not required for the data set to be SMS-managed. It is not required for the data set to reside on the IPL volume. The values in the "Member Type" column are not necessarily the actual SMP/ element types identified in the SMPMCS. 6. All target libraries listed that contain load modules have the following attributes: The data set may not be in the LPA. The data set may be in the LNKLST except for TKANMODS. If you are installing into an existing environment, ensure the values used for the SMP/ work datasets reflect the minimum values shown in Figure 10. 22 5.3 FMIDs Deleted Installing Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm may result in the deletion other FMIDs. To see what FMIDs will be deleted, examine the ++V statement in the product's SMPMCS. If you do not want to delete these FMIDs at this time, you must install Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm into separate SMP/ target and distribution zones. Note: These FMIDs will not automatically be deleted from the Global Zone. Consult the SMP/ manuals for instructions on how to delete FMIDs from the Global Zone. 5.4 Special Considerations To effectively manage a suite products with common components, you can install products into shared zones a consolidated stware inventory (CSI). Space requirements are reduced by installing products into shared CSI zones avoiding the duplication when different target zones, distribution zones, and data sets are used. Sharing a common set zones also allows SMP/ to automatically manage IFQ situations that exist across product components. If you intend to share a Tivoli nterprise Monitoring Server on z/os with other products, use shared CSI zones so product configuration sets up the runtime environment correctly. The installation the Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm monitoring agent, HKS110 common component FMID, requires the Tivoli nterprise Monitoring Server on z/os be installed in the CSI. If it is already installed, ensure the latest maintenance is installed as well because Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm monitoring agent requires maintenance for some the components included with the monitoring server package. If it is not already installed, the monitoring server components and maintenance should be installed first. efer to the Program Directory for IBM Tivoli Management Services (GI ) for installation instructions its product components. Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm monitoring agent includes a component that is referred to as a common component because it is also included with other products. If you install into an existing environment, you might need to remove the FMID reference for this component from the SMP/ installation jobs to avoid errors because it is already installed. The common component is : HKS110 Consider the following items, if you use shared CSI zones. You must specify the same high-level qualifier for the target and distribution libraries as the other products in the same zones for the configuration tool to work correctly. If you install a product into an existing CSI that contains a previous version the same product, SMP/ deletes the previous version during the installation process. To maintain multiple product versions concurrently, they must be installed into separate CSI zones. 18 Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm Program Directory

23 If you install into an existing environment, you might need to remove data set references from the installation jobs to avoid errors because the data sets already exist. If you are installing into an existing environment that has the data sets already allocated, ensure sufficient space and directory blocks are available to support the requirement listed in the DASD tables. This might require you to reallocate some data sets to avoid x37 abends. Installation equirements and Considerations 19

24 6.0 Installation Instructions This chapter describes the installation method and the step-by-step procedures to install and to activate the functions Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm. Note the following information: If you want to install Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm into its own SMP/ environment, consult the SMP/ manuals for instructions on creating and initializing the SMPCSI and the SMP/ control data sets. Additionally, to assist you in doing this, IBM has provided samples at the following Web site to help you create an SMP/ environment. Copies these have been included with the other sample jobs. Sample jobs have been provided to help perform some or all the installation tasks. The SMP/ jobs assume that all DDDF entries required for SMP/ execution have been defined in the appropriate zones. The SMP/ dialogs can be used instead the sample jobs to accomplish the SMP/ installation steps. 6.1 Installing Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm SMP/ Considerations for Installing Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm This release Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm is installed using the SMP/ CIV, APPLY, and ACCPT commands. 25 6.1.3 SMP/ CALLLIBS Processing Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm monitoring agent, HKS110 common component FMID, uses the CALLLIBS function provided in SMP/ to resolve external references during installation. When Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm monitoring agent is installed, ensure that DDDFs exist for the following libraries: SCBIND SCLIB SCLKD Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm base function, HAH220 FMID, does not use the CALLLIBS function. Note: The DDDFs above are used only to resolve the link-edit for Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm using CALLLIBS. These data sets are not updated during the installation Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm Sample Jobs There are two sets sample installation jobs provided as part the product. This job generator utility can be used as an alternative to the sample jobs provided. Be aware that not all products are supported at this time. You can access the utility in two different ways, depending on whether you have an existing environment or not. For an existing environment, find the SMP/ target data set with the low-level qualifier TKCIINST. After you locate the TKCIINST file, invoke the utility by using ISPF option 6 and entering the following command. ex 'hilev.tkciinst(kcijg )' If you do not have an existing environment, you can retrieve elfile 'IBM.HKCI310.F1' in the same way you would retrieve the elfile for the sample jobs. After you retrieve the elfile, invoke the utility by using ISPF option 6 and entering the following command. ex 'IBM.HKCI31.F1(KCIJG )' Use the online help available as a tutorial to become familiar with the utility and its processes. After invoking the help facility, you will see a panel like this one: Installation Instructions 23

28 HLP JOB GNATO HLP COMMAND ===> Create a set batch jobs to install a user selectable set products from either tape, DASD, or HFS. Press NT to read topics in sequence, or select topics by number. 1 Introduction to the Job Generator 2 Product Selection 3 Basic Parameters 4 HFS/zFS root request 5 SMP/ CALLLIBS information 6 Installing into an xisting CSI Introduction to the Job Generator The job generator creates a set jobs to define a SMP/ environment (CSI and supporting data sets), allocate product libraries (target and distribution zone data sets and DDDFS), and install the products (CIV APPLY ACCPT). You can use these jobs to create a totally new environment or to install the products into an existing CSI. Processing Steps The jobs are generated from a series ISPF interactive panels and ISPF file tailoring. The initial step is selection the product mix. The set products will determine any additions to the basic set values needed to create the JCL. At the end the process, the job generator invokes ISPF VIW for the process log, KCIJGLOG. Process Log One the members the generated job library is KCIJGLOG, the process log. This member shows the generating parameters and internal lists that were used to create the batch jobs. It also indicates which jobs were actually produced and need to be run. Note that the CIV, APPLY, and ACCPT jobs are always generated even if the selected products are already in the target CSI. In that case, the jobs install additional maintenance when available Product Selection You can select one or more products from a table that will determine the set FMIDs to install. You must select at least one product. The selection table contains information about all the supported products and might contain entries for products that you do not have or do not wish to install. Select only those products that are available in the package delivered and that you want to install. 24 Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm Program Directory

29 Installing into an existing CSI When the high-level qualifiers point to an existing environment, the job generator eliminates the jobs that allocate and initialize the CSI. The generator suppresses the creation libraries that already exist in the target environment. Instead, the generator creates a job to determine whether sufficient space is available for any additional data to be installed into the libraries. The member KCIJGANL is generated to report on the available space for each the existing libraries that will have new data. KCIJGANL cannot check for the maintenance stream requirements. The space analyzer function is very helpful in identifying data set space issues that might cause X37 abends during APPLY and ACCPT processing Create New SMP/ Support Files - Optional If you do not want to install into an existing environment, you can create a new environment. To allocate new SMP/ support data sets for Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm base function installation, edit and submit sample job AHJ0SMA. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. xpected eturn Codes and Messages: Create New SMP/ CSI - Optional If you do not want to install into an existing environment, you can create a new environment. To allocate a new SMP/ CSI and prime it for Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm base function installation, edit and submit sample job AHJ0SMI. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. xpected eturn Codes and Messages: Allocate SMP/ Target and Distribution Libraries If you are installing into an existing environment, you might have to remove lines for data sets that already exist. dit and submit sample job AHJ0ALO or KHJ0ALO to allocate the SMP/ target and distribution libraries for Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. If you are installing into an existing environment that has the data sets already allocated, ensure sufficient space and directory blocks are available to support the requirement listed in the DASD tables. This might require you to reallocate some data sets to avoid x37 abends. xpected eturn Codes and Messages: 0 Installation Instructions 25

30 6.1.9 Create DDDF ntries If you are installing into an existing environment, you might have to remove lines for data sets that already exist. dit and submit sample job AHJ0DDF or KHJ0DDF to create DDDF entries for the SMP/ target and distribution libraries for Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. xpected eturn Codes and Messages: Perform SMP/ CIV Having obtained Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm as part a CBPDO, you can use the CVPDO job found in the CBPDO IMLIB data set to CIV the Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm FMIDs as well as any service and HOLDDATA included on the CBPDO tape. For more information, refer to the documentation included with the CBPDO. You can also choose to edit and submit sample job AHJ0C or KHJ0C to perform the SMP/ CIV for Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. xpected eturn Codes and Messages: Perform SMP/ APPLY dit and submit sample job AHJ0APP or KHJ0APP to perform an SMP/ APPLY CHCK for Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm. Add a BYPASS(HOLDSYSTM) operand to the SMP/ control statments in the APPLY job and uncomment the CHCK operand to see which PTFs will be processed because the ++HOLD is bypassed. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. To receive the full benefit the SMP/ Causer SYSMOD Summary eport, do not bypass the following on the APPLY CHCK: P, ID, Q, and IFQ. This is because the SMP/ root cause analysis identifies the cause only OS and not WANINGS (SYSMODs that are bypassed are treated as warnings, not errors, by SMP/). nhanced HOLDDATA introduced O HOLDs against FMIDs for HIP APAs. Prior to installing, ensure you have the latest nhanced HOLDDATA (available at The FMIDs can be installed regardless the status unresolved HIPs, however, the stware must not be deployed until the unresolved HIPs have been analyzed to determine applicability. There are two methods to complete an FMID installation where ++HOLDs for HIPs exist for the FMIDs being installed: 26 Advanced eporting for DFSMShsm Program Directory

31 To ensure that all recommended and critical service is installed with the FMIDs, add the SOUCIDs PP, HIP, and SU* to the APPLY command. There may be P or HIP APAs that do not have resolving PTFs available yet. You need to analyze the symptom flags to determine if you want to BYPASS the specific O HOLDs and continue the FMID installation. APPLY S(fmid,fmid,...) FOFMID(fmid,fmid,...) SOUCID(PP,HIP,SU,...) GOUPXTND. This method requires more initial research, but will provide resolution for all HIPs that have fixes available and are not in a P chain. There may still be unresolved Ps or HIPs that require the use BYPASS. To install an FMID as it was installed prior to nhanced HOLDDATA, you can add a BYPASS(HOLDCLASS(HIP)) operand to the APPLY command. This allows the FMID to be installed even though there are HIP O HOLDs against it. Note that not all O HOLDs were bypassed, only the HIP O HOLDs. After the FMIDs are installed, you must run the SMP/ POT SYSMODS command to identify any missing HIP maintenance. APPLY S(fmid,fmid,...) FOFMID(fmid,fmid,...) SOUCID(SU ) GOUPXTND BYPASS(HOLDCLASS(HIP)) other parameters documented in the program directory... This method is the quicker the two, but requires subsequent review the POT SYSMODS to investigate any HIPs. If you bypass any HOLDs during the installation the FMIDs because fixing PTFs were not yet available, you can use the APA Status Tracking (AST) function ServiceLink or the APA Tracking function esourcelink to be notified when the fixing PTF is available. After you have taken any actions indicated by the APPLY CHCK, remove the CHCK operand and run the job again to perform the APPLY. Note: The GOUPXTND operand indicates that SMP/ apply all requisite SYSMODs. The requisite SYSMODS might be applicable to other functions. xpected eturn Codes and Messages from APPLY CHCK: 0 xpected eturn Codes and Messages from APPLY: 0 Installation Instructions 27
