3 Preliminaries The instructions provided in this presentation assume that you are going to use a machine with Scientific Linux 5.x x86_64 You are going to test on pre-installed SL5 Virtual Machines Access to the Virtual Infrastructure: Login as XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX HIDDEN! :) Participant-to-machine assignment Valparaiso, School for Grid Site SysAdmin,

4 Repository settings Use the local mrepo host: export MREPO= Configure the repositories as follows: REPOS="dag ig lcg-ca glite-ui" Get the yum repositories with: for name in $REPOS; do wget $MREPO/$name.repo -O /etc/yum.repos.d/$name.repo; done Copy the gilda utils YUM repo (ATTENTION PLEASE: DON T MAKE THE FOLLOWING FOR YOUR SITE IT S JUST FOR THE tutorial!) wget -O /etc/ yum.repos.d/gilda.repo Valparaiso, School for Grid Site SysAdmin,

5 System requirements Check if ntp exists otherwise install that with: yum install ntp Please check: If you have a valid full qualified domain name To verify, type: hostname -f Only if needed, edit the hostname: vim /etc/hosts vim /etc/sysconfig/network hostname <pc_name> Then clean your YUM cache: yum clean all Valparaiso, School for Grid Site SysAdmin,

13 Configuring the UI for GILDA Sync the date ntpdate ntp-1.infn.it /etc/init.d/ntpd start Configure the UI with YAIM /opt/glite/yaim/bin/ig_yaim -c s \ /opt/glite/yaim/examples/siteinfo/mysite-info.def -n ig_ui_noafs If everything is ok, the UI is now READY for testing! YAIM does not configure the LFC_HOST variable; please edit the file /opt/glite/etc/profile.d/grid-env.sh and add the following for GILDA: gridenv_set "LFC_HOST" "lfc-gilda.ct.infn.it" And the following for GISELA: gridenv_set "LFC_HOST" "lfc.eela.ufrj.br" Valparaiso, School for Grid Site SysAdmin,
