Both tools are designed with an easy-touse Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF) interface that lets you manage and process DB2 objects and organize DB2 objects for better system throughput. DB2 Administration Tool for z/os enables the day-to-day tasks that are associated with managing a DB2 database, simplifying the complex tasks associated with safely managing DB2 objects and schema throughout the application lifecycle with the least possible impact to availability. DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/os helps you to compare and synchronize different DB2 objects while helping maintain system availability and object integrity. With DB2 Administration Tool for z/os, you can: Enable users to navigate the DB2 catalog quickly and easily Build and execute dynamic SQL statements without knowing the exact SQL syntax Manage and track changes made to DB2 object definitions, resolving any potential conflicts prior to execution Help build DB2 commands to execute against databases and tables Enable users to create, alter, migrate, drop, and reverse-engineer DB2 objects Build and execute utility jobs, enabling users to take advantage of LISTDEFs and TEMPLATEs for increased productivity DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/os provides users with: A GEN function which, in addition to extracting DDL, can also generate statements for the object authorizations and the catalog statistics A batch compare feature that compares two version files, produces reports describing any of the object differences, and generates the information needed to apply the changes Support for masking and ignore files, which address intentional differences or naming conventions, enabling you to deal with only net changes between objects With new enhancements to DB2 Administration Tool for z/os, users can now: Enable changes to table spaces and indexes to generate new ADMIN ALTER statements that reflect the intended change and are stored in the change management database. Format change statements when registering a change using ALT. Work with AOTs in Catalog Navigation, including DDL and GEN, and to use the panels to create an AOT. Have support for new columns or new values for existing columns in DB2 12 catalog tables. IBM United States Software Announcement IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 12

Generate a CM batch job with various options specified when using the RN / RNO and AN / ANO line commands against a multitarget change. Save the options on the system catalog (ADB21) so that users do not have to enter a value for the option every time they enter the panel. With new enhancements to DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/os, users can now ignore fields for a subset of objects during a Compare. Other new enhancements to DB2 Administration Tool for z/os and DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/os provide users with the ability to: Exploit new features in DB2 Version 12. Overwrite the RESTRICT ON DROP attribute for tables. Verify that the attributes for objects that are being changed are valid on their system and to report any incorrect attribute values, as well as to stop the process if errors are found. Analyze and run a multitarget change using the batch interface for invoking the change management function (CM Batch). Produce a report containing affected object counts when analyzing a multitarget change. Produce a report containing statement totals when running a multitarget change. Have granular control over accelerator objects (add, delete, or load operations) during alter, compare, and change management scenarios. Restore distribution and organization keys associated with accelerated tables when corresponding DB2 tables are dropped and re-created. Use a new RUNSTATS option to minimize RUNSTATS and only run RUNSTATS if a table is created or an index is changed. Additionally, DB2 Administration Tool for z/os and DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/os now provide support through Data Server Manager for GEN (re-engineering DDL) and CM Batch functions, as well as enhanced integration with DB2 High Performance Upload for z/os (HPU) to enable users to edit HPU parameters using panels. DB2 Query Monitor for z/os, V3.3 (5655-V42) offers current and historical views of query activity throughout DB2 subsystems. DB2 Query Monitor gives you the ability to efficiently customize and tune your SQL workload and DB2 objects to validate the effectiveness of your DB2 subsystems and improve overall performance. DB2 Query Monitor also offers you extensive choices so you can determine what monitoring information you will gather, and when. DB2 Query Monitor for z/os enables you to identify problem SQL activity and applications, enabling you to focus your efforts on improvement. DB2 Query Monitor for z/os enables you to do the following: Provides Compatibility of the Consolidation and Analysis Engine (CAE) server with previous maintenance levels of the DB2 Query Monitor subsystems and ISPF clients to help you rollout maintenance gradually across your data centers, particularly when there are many DB2 Query Monitor subsystems on different LPARs. Removes requirement for CAE to be APF authorized. Security support for DB2 connection by using Resource Recovery Services Attachment Facility (RRSAF) instead of Call Attach Facility. This change enables DB2 authorization checking based on the user that is logged in when accessing remote data sharing members through the CAE. Performance / Integration Enable deeper performance analysis through the ability to request a collection of host variable values for selected SQL statements. Ability to view the SQL text and captured host variables in the web interface. IBM United States Software Announcement IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 13

Reduce CPU by enabling detailed object collection by workload rather than subsystem wide. Enable DB2 Query Monitor data to be displayed directly in the OMEGAMON interface and data repositories for improved historical analysis. Integration with IBM Data Server Manager to simplify the process of query tuning. IBM Data Server Manager (DSM) integrates various browser client interfaces, such as the DB2 Query Workload Tuner, on a single server and provides a single interface that users can access to work with information about their DB2 subsystems. Usability Perform dynamic configuration changes without requiring that you stop and start the started task. New ISPF panels provide line commands in a pop-up window for ease of use and to provide more space to display results. Ability to limit the collection of s to dynamic SQL, static SQL, or both. This enables those who are not interested in gathering static SQL s to gather statistics only on dynamic SQL. Improved offload and data management support Simplified support to store Query Monitor data in DB2 tables to enable you to retain DB2 Query Monitor performance data on a consolidated, centralized DB2 system away from production and potentially keep the data longer for more historical analysis. Ability to load DB2 Query Monitor data directly to the DB2 Analytics Accelerator (requires IBM DB2 Analytics Loader for z/os, 2.1). Collect data without the requirement to be offloaded to tables, offload only certain intervals for long-term storage, and better manage noncritical interval data. The optional LOAD card enhancement enables you to choose not to place the target table in COPY PENDING through new NOCOPYPEND. Additionally, the INDEX(ALL) clause for the STATISTICS eliminates the need to do a RUNSTATS after you do a load because it keeps the statistics up to date. This new option has been added to enable you to collect index statistics when user-defined indexes have been added to the performance history schema. Performance history database ("Offload") improvements that enable reports, such as the CAE Archive Feature, to reproduce all of the data displayed in ISPF panels. Enhanced reporting Several new reporting options have been added, including: Summarized interval statistics, enabling you to quickly and easily assess a particular interval that is out of the ordinary and needs further investigation: -- Addition of DB2 s, including total elapsed time, total CPU time, total GETPAGES, total delay time, and total SQL calls. -- Ability for users to make exceptions to the RETAIN parameter by releasing specific intervals or to prevent an interval from rolling off using RELEASE or KEEP, or delete empty intervals and corresponding interval performance history files. -- Newest intervals are now sorted at the top of the display for ease of use. Several new summarizations to enable clients to summarize DB2 Query Monitor data by jobname, connection name, connection type, DB2 schema, stored procedures, DB2 parallelism, collection ID, and so on. This enables users to view and see the data in the organization they most want. Additional reporting enhancements include: -- Information about the consistency token and package version associated with SQL activity (RFE5561). IBM United States Software Announcement IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 14

-- DB2 Analytics Accelerator eligibility s when browsing exceptions to locate exception activity that did not run so it can be made eligible in the future. -- More granular detail at collection level to enable drill downs from DB2 operational summaries provides view summary counts for a single DB2 Collection ID (RFE56388). -- Additional summary information has been added to help users find out more about negative SQLCODE activity. The CORRID and CORRNAME grouping commands, line commands, and columns provide users with additional information about their negative SQLCODE activity. Ability to include specific SQLCODEs you want to see instead of excluding numerous unwanted codes. CAE Browser Client enhancements, including: -- Improved pie charts -- Better support to remember current user configuration -- Improved top-n most expensive SQL reporting -- Improved LOAD progress indicator that now enables access to the history of recent messages instead of just the most recent one. DB2 Query Workload Tuner for z/os, V5.2 (5655-AB4) offers tools and advisors that provide expert recommendations to DBAs to help improve performance for a single query or group of queries(workload). It also enables greater collaboration between developers and DBAs by helping them to gain insights into SQL performance. DB2 Query Workload Tuner for z/os, V5.2 is based on the DSM web-based tooling platform that provides a simple integrated environment to streamline ongoing administration of complex database environments. New in this release is support for, V12 and enhanced integration of DB2 Query Workload Tuner for z/os and DB2 Query Monitor for z/os whereby users can collect more detailed information about SQL statements and provide better information to the DB2 Optimizer which, in turn, helps to select better and more efficient access paths to the data. DB2 Query Workload Tuner for z/os can be purchased on its own or as part of the DB2 Performance Solution Pack for z/os. DB2 Automation Tool for z/os, V4.3 (5655-E37) key enhancements: New integration with complementary products in portfolio: Support for managing DB2 Automation Tool utility, object, exception, and job profiles from within DSM. From a simple, web-based graphical console, you can manage maintenance tasks, view the overall health of your database assets, detect and prevent problems by performing corrective actions to avoid downtime. This solution provides utilities automation and management in the DSM interface. View and assess the health of accelerated DB2 tables and automate the process of loading or refreshing data to the DB2 Analytics Accelerator. DB2 Automation Tool will check the status of an accelerated DB2 object, detect when it needs to be loaded, and automatically generate the JCL to load only the changed data. Usability improvements: Enhanced functionality to prevent DB2 outages due to out-of-space conditions and to automate corrective action. OPTIONS is a new primary command on the Update Exception Profile Display panel. This command can be used to limit which static fields to display to enlarge the scrolling area of the terminal. New exception condition TABLESPACESTATS.SPACEUSED_PCT. Calculate more accurate space values for the reallocation utility by using realtime statistics (RTS) as an alternative to MVS TM catalog statistics. RTS values are more accurate than MVS catalog statistics when many rows have been deleted from a table space because MVS catalog statistics do not reflect the freed-up space. Therefore, using RTS values can save space during reallocation. IBM United States Software Announcement IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 15

Eliminate manual processes when "un-scheduling" a maintenance window. DB2 Automation Tool will automatically un-schedule a maintenance window from the DB2 administration task scheduler whenever a maintenance window is deleted. It also provides the capability to reassign actions to another maintenance window. Conditionally issue a TERM UTILITY (terminate utility) command when a DB2 utility ends abnormally, thus ensuring the resources are freed. Expanded notifications to keep you informed through or text about DB2 maintenance tasks. The notification feature includes a framework that enables other tools to plug in and create their own notifications. The ability to include the total number or a list of all triggered objects through or the total number of triggered objects through text. The ability to notify you when a maintenance window begins and ends. Tools Customizer usability: Addition of OWNER parameter to all plan binds. Deprecated features: The data page display and edit functions and the associated data page verification reporting option in utility profiles have been deprecated. These are not recommended methods for accessing DB2 data. Deprecation was announced in DB2 Automation Tool V4.2. Several real-time statistics have been deprecated from the 'Update Exceptions Profile Display'. The SYSTABLESPACESTATS.UNCOMPRESSED_DATASIZE and SYSTABLESPACESTATS.COMPRESSION_RATIO exceptions have been removed. In the IBM DB2 V10 and V11 SQL Reference, UNCOMPRESSED_DATASIZE is always set to 0. Because COMPRESSION_RATIO is based on UNCOMPRESSED_DATASIZE, this calculated value is always 0. Therefore, both of these exception conditions are always 0, and no longer have meaning. DB2 Extended Utilities Suite for z/os, V2.1 (5655-EU2) combines the core IBM utilities that many companies bet their business on with additional features and functions that optimize utilities performance and resource utilization of utility management activities as well as extend utilities syntax to support a broader range of capabilities: High-speed DB2 utility for unloading DB2 tables from either a table space or from an image copy Significant reductions in elapsed time and processor usage and increased ziip 1 offload during utility sort processing, helping you to eliminate the need for duplicate utilities from various ISVs, reducing overall use of system resources, and improving business resiliency Ability to transparently cancel active threads and block new threads on DB2 objects Utility syntax monitor to establish company-wide procedures and assist with auditing Message monitor, enabling customization of DB2 utility return codes to meet DB2 application needs Authorization to run DB2 Utilities in all supported environments, including the DB2 12 for z/os environment New in this release of the Extended Utilities Suite for z/os is authorization to run DB2 Utilities Suite capabilities in a 12 environment. DB2 Backup and Recovery Solution Pack for z/os, V1.1 (5655-BR1) combines advanced DB2 Tools that provide functions required to effectively establish data backup strategies as well as streamline the process of analyzing potential data recovery strategies and implementing recovery operations. DB2 Utilities Solution Pack for z/os, V4.1 (5697-US4) combines the autonomic capability for DB2 utilities. It can help relieve time and workload burdens from users who are faced with growing volume and complexity, but who have less time to manage environments. Autonomics addresses the ever- IBM United States Software Announcement IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 16
