Graphs may be displayed separately or superimposed. Aurally-equivalent analysis can be achieved interactively in three steps without any special background, thanks to the transparent and logical way in which ArtemiS is structured. Providing both high performance and productivity to the user is central to the design of ArtemiS. Step 1... Preparation: The data you have gathered via your standard front-end devices, such as the SQlab II, THALES-HEIM, or TEAC, are automatically displayed in the first ArtemiS Project Pool. Data can also be included from database files or files with other formats via drag & drop or insert mode. The remaining four Pools - Filter, Analysis, Statistics and Destination - provide all the other tools you need in completing your tasks. ArtemiS displays only the files and tools you have selected, thus providing a clear overview of project functions. This is essential for managing large projects. Step 2... Analysis: Just select the files and tools you require by checking the corresponding check boxes and then mouse-click on the Calculate button: the rest is automatic! ArtemiS provides a numeric and graphical display of the results of your analysis. 8

ArtemiS is the all-purpose tool... for handling any sound and vibration task. Standard spectral analysis using FFT and 1/n octaves are used to evaluate tones or frequency content in data. Advanced spectral analysis methods are used for more difficult tasks or to better relate sounds to what is being heard. An extensive range of filter options such as variable FIR and IIR filters can be used alongside any of the analysis options to assist in isolating or suppressing the sound or vibration attribute under investigation. Combining listening (playback) with filtering and analysis ensures the chosen analysis routine is accurately measuring what is being heard. The number of channels that can be processed at one time is only limited by the number of channels recorded during acquisition.
