Abstract: Digital data framework to store and present different information in accessible formats, as of the Universal Design concept. It allows cohesive use of speech synthesis features, large and high contrast source, audio description, audio explanation, Libras language (Brazilian Sign Language) videos, simple language or supported with pictograms, images and other digital resources. This structure also allows the organization and sub division in view steps, allowing a sequence of appearance of user chosen accessibility features to be set. For proof of concept it was developed an Android App that allows viewing of accessible information in different ways, depending on user need. This Android App is fully configurable for different forms of use and display, and you can use it with different approaches in areas such as education, culture, sports or news. Introduction: Digital Framework for Accessible Information The concept of Universal Design is founded on the understanding and respect for diversity and should encourage and enable solutions that build a society focused on all individuals. A product with universal design should be able to be used by users with different capabilities, being simple and intuitive, error tolerant in the security aspect, have flexible use, possess information easy to understand, require minimal effort and the product must have dimensioning and comprehensive use (CAMBIAGHI, 2007). In the digital world, the information can be made available in different formats and in different media. When a certain digital information can be viewed and understood by a person with specific needs, it can be said that this information is accessible to it.

2 However, the needs of each person vary significantly and involves different directions, it is important that the same information can be made available in various formats in order to ensure that there will be a more appropriate manner to the specifics of each user. Methodology: This paper proposes a Digital framework for Accessible Information that allows the same information to be structured in different digital formats such as: expanded text; text in high contrast; text supported with pictograms; video with Libras language, the Brazilian sign language, audio description of images, self explanation of figures and simple language, enabling thus appropriate ways of viewing the different needs. The provision of written texts with symbols favors the understanding of Alternative Communication users and people in the early stages of literacy. Figure 1: Example of (portuguese) information reading and icons representing available media formats Digital Structure for Accessible Information For an information whatsoever can be best viewed it is divided, conceptually, in steps. The information consists of a set of steps and defines a sequence for navigating between them, so that the navigation through of all of them transmit the desired information. Thus, for an information to be accessible it is therefore necessary that each of its steps also are. Thus, the digital framework that defines each step should make it possible to house different digital formats. The figure below illustrates a simplified digital information framework consisting of four steps and containing digital formats of text, video, audio, image and symbols.

3 Figure 2: Four steps conceptual example of an acessible digital information These digital formats are used to store or make possible affordable options for information display, as described in chart below. Chart 1 Description of different supported media types and it purposes Interaction / Navigation Forms The application developed uses the Digital Framework for Accessible Information and offers user various options and ways of interaction for its viewing. For each information step presented to user, it's performed the playback stream of media with audio / visual content according to the order below: 1. Image: audio description or audio explanation, if any

4 2. Text: recorded voice is the 1st option, if any, or synthesis (if the resource/voice is available) 3. Libras: if available, the video starts immediately when loading step Variations depending on the form of interaction used: No trigger: the stream above runs automatically, and at the end changes automatically to the next step; With one trigger: the stream runs automatically and, at its end, the application is in WAIT mode, waiting for a trigger to go to next step; With 2 triggers: similar to one trigger, but the 2nd trigger can be used to go back to the previous step; Trigger on the touch screen: the entire screen is used as a trigger, not making difference the location clicked. The application runs identically to when there is an external trigger, and; Direct Access: In this situation they are offered more options for navigation: o advance / reverse buttons for steps o click on the image: Plays the audio description or audio explanation, if any o click on the text: plays recorded voice or speech synthesis, if available o click / control of Libras video playback, if available For proof of concept, it was developed an Android App that allows viewing of accessible information in different ways, depending on user need. An Alternative Communication user can choose to access a children's story about travels, for example, as of the text with pictograms, to include self explanation of images, which can define terms like "passport", "customs" and "Euro", and with audio of text reading. For a blind user, the choices can be audio description of images and text audio. Each user or family makes the app configuration for its needs without having contact with other accessibility features that are not significant to broaden their access to content. On the other hand, the developer of accessible information (newspaper article, magazine article, textbook, history book, business card) can choose which audience will meet and which accessibility features will include. Because it is a fully configurable feature, it can be used with focus in area of education, culture, sports or news. References: CAMBIAGHI, S..
