1 UBQUITI AC-SERIES AIROS V8.X BASIC SETUP PTP AND PTMP PRODUCTS: UBQUITI AC-SERIES PRODUCTS TOPICS COVERED IN THIS KBA: Ubquiti AC-series airos v8.x Basic Setup PTP and PTMP Firstly, you need to get the unit powered from the included injector and connect to with your computer. 1. Physically connect a network cable between the ubquiti device to the port labelled POE on the injector. 2. Physically connect a network cable between port labelled LAN on the injector and your Computer. 3. Set a Static IP on the Computer to (refer to the KBA Configuring a Static IP Address ) Page 1 of 14

2 4. Web Browse the unit on using chrome browser, chrome.google.com. 5. You will be presented with the below message on the first connection, select Advanced. 6. The following message with appear below advanced, Select Proceed. Page 2 of 14

3 7. Login using: o User: ubnt o Pass: ubnt 8. Select Australia and agree to the terms then select login. 9. Go to the Setting. Page 3 of 14

4 10. Now we will configure this as the Access Point which will be at Server/Panel/NVR end of the link(s). 11. The settings needed to set are the following 5 settings. o Wireless mode: Access Point PtP o SSID: csd-m5-link (needs to be unique to the site but the same across all units) o CENTER FREQUENCY, MHz: 5800 o Security: WPA2-AES o WPA Preshared Key: adecentpassword (needs to be unique to the site but the same across all units) Page 4 of 14

5 12. Select Save changes once you have input these 5 settings. 13. You will then be prompted to change the login password for the device. o Preferably don t lose this password, you can reset it, but it will default the settings. 14. The following message will pop-up after a password change. Page 5 of 14

6 15. Select Save Changes again after changing the password. 16. You will then see the following message when its saving changes and rebooting. 17. When it comes back online select the network menu. Page 6 of 14

7 18. On this Page we need to change the IP address to something other than the default. o IP address: Select Save Changes. 20. Once it comes back it will redirect you the new IP (in this case ) o As it s a new IP address you will see this warning again. Page 7 of 14

8 21. Login to check the settings applied. Page 8 of 14

9 22. Disconnect your PC from the LAN side of the injector. 23. Repeat Steps 1 to 9 with the next ubiquiti unit and its own separate injector. 24. Next, we will configure this second unit as the Station which will be at Camera/CLOE/Edge devices end of the link(s). 25. The settings needed to set are the following 4 settings: o Wireless mode: Station PtP o SSID: csd-m5-link (needs to be unique to the site but the same across all units) o Security: WPA2-AES o WPA Preshared Key: adecentpassword (needs to be unique to the site but the same across all units) 26. Select Save changes once you have input these 5 settings. Page 9 of 14

10 27. You will then be prompted to change the login password for the device. o Preferably don t lose this password, you can reset it, but it will default the settings. 28. The following message will pop-up after a password change. 29. Select Save Changes again after changing the password. 30. You will then see the following message again when its saving changes and rebooting. Page 10 of 14

11 31. When it comes back online select the network menu. 32. On this Page we need to change the IP address to something other than the default. o IP address: (if it s not the first station it would be 202 for the 2nd and 203 for the 3rd) 33. Select Save Changes. 34. You will then see the following message again when its saving changes and rebooting. Page 11 of 14

12 35. Once it comes back it will redirect you the new IP (in this case ) o As it s a new IP address you will see this warning again. 36. Login to check the settings applied 37. You should see a screen similar to the below on the Station end if its connected. Page 12 of 14

13 38. The back of the units will also show signal strength lights once connected. 39. Additionally, you can web browse the Access point and see the connected stations. 40. If this is just a Point to Point link consisting of two ubiquiti units, you are done. Page 13 of 14

14 Point to Multipoint Setup 41. If you have more than one station and you have a Point to Multipoint system. In this case go back to the access point and use Wireless mode Access Point PtMP airmax AC 42. Same with the Station, use wireless mode Station PtMP o In this case for each additional station you repeat steps 22 to 39. o Only thing to keep in mind is when you come to step 29 make sure you use a unique IP. (e.g. if it s not the first station it would be.202 for the 2nd and.203 for the 3rd) Page 14 of 14
