The purpose of developing Ethernet driver is to make the LAN controller to work in the omap innovator. Ethernet acts as a communication media between the host and target. 9. Project Name : DRI (Digital Recorder Interface) 1 month Team Size 1 Modules: Pulse width tone(pwt) Software Hardware OMAP 5910 Target, PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The purpose of writing Pulse width tone driver module is to make the PWT controller to work that is given in innovator kit. This pulse width tone will generate a some fixed frequency volume, that can be used as an indication in particular time. 8. 4 Software Hardware OMAP 5910 Target, The purpose of writing octal Uart driver is that there is a 8 devices that has to be connected to omap board through octal uart. The devices like sacu,ajanta,telex etc and these devices are given by client BEL. The uart driver communicates with each particular device and provide communication with the processor for external connected serial devices. Design & Development of Keyboard Driver for PS2Adapt UR6HCPS2-SP40. Driver is written for TI-OMAP5910.The Keyboard connected with OMAP thro Onchip Uart2. This UART2 can operate in two different modes: UART mode and UART with autobaud mode. We ve chosen UART mode which is functionally compatible with the TL16C750 UART. Driver was written for UART2 under UART mode. Contribution 3 Design, Development and Coding. 4 Integration Testing

5 5. Project Name : Stepper motor control driver Software Engineer 3 months Team Size 2 Software O/s : Linux.2.4 Stepper motors are a type of motor that lend themselves to simple computer control. The name comes from the fact that these motors move indiscrete steps. By energizing different combinations of windings, the computer can command the motor to move a single step clockwise or counterclockwise. A simple stepper motor has two electromagnet coils, oriented ninety degrees from one another. Each coil can be off or on and it can have two different polarities. To simplify the drive electronics, at the expense of performance, most stepper motors have center tapped windings. By connecting the center to the positive supply voltage and grounding one or the other end of the winding, you can effectively magnetize the winding in either positive or negative polarity. 4. UART DEVICE DRIVER 5 months Team Size 2 Software O/s : linux 2.4 2This project is aimed at developing UART device driver on Red hat Linux. The application software makes system calls to the operating system requesting services from the device. The operating system issues requests to the device driver, which in turn analyzes the request from the OS and issues commands to the UART to perform the operations needed to service the request. The kernel makes requests of a driver by calling the driver s entry point such as (open, write, read, I/O control and close). The driver in turn makes calls upon kernel support interfaces to perform the tasks. The driver can access and modify the control registers to perform the required operations.

Project Name : Specialix card device driver 3 Team Size 2 Software O/s : linux 2.4 Specialix card Device driver acts as translator, converting the request from the operating system into commands specific to Specialix card controller. The application software makes system calls to the operating system requesting services from the device. The operating system issues requests to the device driver, which in turn analyzes the request from the OS and issues commands to the CLCD-1865 (Specialix card controller) to perform the operations needed to service the request. The kernel makes requests of a driver by calling the driver s entry point such as (open, write, read, I/O control and close). The drivers in turn make calls upon kernel support interfaces to perform the tasks. The driver can access and modify the control registers to perform the required operations. 2. Project Name : Data Acquisition system (keyboard module) 3 Team Size 1 Software O/s : linux 2.4 : It is required to design a compact microprocessor-based control unit, with necessary hardware and software for automation of surface finishing plants. Using the standard board with preloaded operating system, the application is to be developed and ported on to the target hardware. The hardware and the software components shall be integrated, tested and delivered. The surface finishing process requires a compact environment friendly unit to control the sequence and to collect data in real time. The requirement is studied and a suitable application solution is offered for the specific hardware.

REAL TIME BASED SYSTEM CONTROLLING USING VxWORKS Team Size 1 Software Tools :KEIL,TORNADO O/s : vxworks,rtx51 Embedded computer systems, which are electronic systems that include a microcomputer to perform a specific dedicated application. This project concentrates on one such type of controlling multiple devices like LCD display, air conditioner, operating security doors, controlling light equipments in a supermarket. Controlling multiple devices is implemented using VxWorks operating system microcontroller is interfaced with multiple devices and is serially connected to the VxWorks server system. RTX51 is the Real Time System, which schedules and controls the operation of the devices. Local Server is connected to the LAN and running TCP server. The Authenticated client can login to the TCP Server and send commands to control the devices
