2 Legal information Legal information Use of application examples Application examples illustrate the solution of automation tasks through an interaction of several components in the form of text, graphics and/or software modules. The application examples are a free service by Siemens AG and/or a subsidiary of Siemens AG ("Siemens"). They are non-binding and make no claim to completeness or functionality regarding configuration and equipment. The application examples merely offer help with typical tasks; they do not constitute customer-specific solutions. You yourself are responsible for the proper and safe operation of the products in accordance with applicable regulations and must also check the function of the respective application example and customize it for your system. Siemens grants you the non-exclusive, non-sublicensable and non-transferable right to have the application examples used by technically trained personnel. Any change to the application examples is your responsibility. Sharing the application examples with third parties or copying the application examples or excerpts thereof is permitted only in combination with your own products. Security information Siemens provides products and solutions with Industrial Security functions that support the secure operation of plants, systems, machines and networks. In order to protect plants, systems, machines and networks against cyber threats, it is necessary to implement and continuously maintain a holistic, state-of-the-art industrial security concept. Siemens products and solutions constitute one element of such a concept. Customers are responsible for preventing unauthorized access to their plants, systems, machines and networks. Such systems, machines and components should only be connected to an enterprise network or the Internet if and to the extent such a connection is necessary and only when appropriate security measures (e.g. firewalls and/or network segmentation) are in place. For additional information on industrial security measures that may be implemented, please visit Siemens products and solutions undergo continuous development to make them more secure. Siemens strongly recommends that product updates are applied as soon as they are available and that the latest product versions are used. Use of product versions that are no longer supported, and failure to apply the latest updates may increase customer s exposure to cyber threats. Double-click on the 'RC-HUB' icon on the home screen to start the Collaboration Session. The website "SIEMENS Remote Collaboration - Field Engineer" opens automatically in the browser "Chromium". Because the application starts in the background, it may take several minutes until the browser displays the home page. Do not close the browser. 3. Wait for the return information from the remote expert ("waiting for expert"). Do not start the session on the SIPIX SD side until the remote expert has completed the access modalities. The red dot in the tab signals the connection constitution for the video/audio session. 1. Click the "Start Session" button to launch the video/audio session. Entry-ID: , V1.0, 01/2019 9
10 4 Remote connection The Remote Expert sees the livestream of the SIPIX SD. Tablet view Remote Expert view 2. Click on a desired area of the image to freely move the red pointer. The remote expert is shown the red pointer simultaneously in the video session and it can also be moved by him as desired. If the SIPIX SD is not used for a certain period of time, the browser closes automatically with the remote collaboration on the SIPIX SD due to data security and data protection requirements. In this case, rerun steps 1 and 2 to start the collaboration session again. Entry-ID: , V1.0, 01/

16 6 Communication between SIPIX SD series and field devices 6 Communication between SIPIX SD series and field devices The following HART modems are used for communication between field device and SIPIX SD: VIATOR Bluetooth HART Modem, section 6.1 VIATOR USB HART Modem, section 6.2 This section describes the structure of both communication options and the stepby-step connection setup to the field device via SIMATIC PDM (section 6.3) Physical connection of HART modems The HART modem is physically connected the 4-20 ma current loop of the field device through a terminating resistor parallel. If a terminator is already installed in the hardware, the HART modem can be connected directly to the terminals of the field device. The polarity of the HART connections of the HART modem plays no role in both cases. VIATOR HART MODEM 6.1 Setting up a link to the VIATOR Bluetooth HART Modem The VIATOR Bluetooth HART modem (BT HART modem) is a point-to point HART PC modem for temporary connections to HART field devices. The host PC uses an internal Bluetooth interface to communicate with the BT HART modem. The modem has a battery life of approximately 20 h operating time. The batteries can be replaced. The BT HART modem is intrinsically safe and suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Bluetooth is a very secure protocol that includes several features that make it more difficult to intercept the signal. The authentication of BT HART modems is via a PIN-code entered by the user during the connection establishment process. Thereby all the data that is sent over this connection, is encrypted with a unique key that is created during the connection process. Entry-ID: , V1.0, 01/
17 6 Communication between SIPIX SD series and field devices You will find more information on the VIATOR Bluetooth HART Modem on the following link: The SIPIX SD Series has an integrated Bluetooth Class 1 adapter. 30 8 Faults and troubleshooting 8 Faults and troubleshooting 8.1 Canceling the network connection Loss of network connection of the SIPIX SD Series or EPSON data goggles Reestablish connection. After reconnecting to the network, refresh your browser and press the "Start Session" button again. Loss of Internet connection of data goggles, despite sufficient WLAN signal Despite a stable connection to an internet-capable hotspot, it can happen that no website can be reached. In this case, deactivate the "WLAN" function in the settings of your data goggles and then activate it again. Loss of audio / video transmission on the computer of the remote expert By using another wireless device (e.g. the EPSON data goggles), it can happen that no video signal is received on the remote expert's side. In this case, reload your session using the data goggles. In rare cases, the loss can occur several times in a row. 8.2 Other faults The charging icon is constantly present If the charging icon does not disappear during connection setup even after a long wait, check whether the browser used supports communication via WebRTC. If the behavior still occurs, refresh the browser window. It is recommended to exclusively use a Chrome based browser Entry-ID: , V1.0, 01/
