3 MultiFunction Products The following sections describe the features and capabilities of three models from the RFG lineup of Multifunction Products (MFPs): B079/B082 Digital Black and White MFP B051/B052 Digital Color MFP H310/H311 Fax Machine These products are typical of the features offered by digital MFPs. They also work with a wide range of solutions products.

4 B079/B082 Digital Black and White MFP The B079/B082 provide workgroups with a complete digital copying system with full document finishing. With the new B079/B082, these systems are greater than the sum of their parts. More than just multifunction devices, the B079/B082 are the cornerstones of any successful office operation for document production and distribution. Built on the RA2K platform, these multifunction solutions are complete digital communication hubs. Featuring superior 600 dpi image quality at 35/45 pages-perminute, the B079 and B082 offer unmatched versatility in a compact design. And when it comes to finishing, choose from three finishing options to meet your specific needs for multi-position stapling, hole punching, and even saddle-stitch booklet finishing. Connecting the B079/B082 to your network enables you to get the most from your investment. As a printer, users have complete access to all imaging and document finishing on the B079/B082. 5 Complete in-house document production: Choose one of three finishers to stack, staple, and punch output sets; even create professional saddle-stitched and folded booklets up to 60 pages. When it s time to finish the job, there is a broad spectrum of output options to meet your needs and budget: Separate copies from printed or faxed pages with the One-bin Tray. Add offset stacking and 50-sheet oneposition stapling with the 1,000-sheet Finisher. The Multi-tray Finisher brings multiposition stapling and optional holepunching to every user. Install the Booklet Finisher to provide capabilities once reserved to commercial printers. Lower expenses, speed job completion, and maintain confidentiality by doing it all in-house even saddle-stitched, folded booklets for the ultimate professional touch. Dual 500-sheet paper trays and a 50-sheet bypass tray provide 1,050 sheets of standard paper capacity. The B079/B082 deliver greater media flexibility through: User adjustable paper trays that handle stocks ranging in size from 5.5 x 8.5 to 11 x 17. Increase the paper capacity with either the Paper Bank PS530 for two additional user-adjustable 500-sheet trays or the Large Capacity Tray with 1,500-sheet capacity. Or combine both options for a total paper supply of 3,550 sheets. Standard Automatic Duplexing. Connecting to your network is easy with your choice of: Standard 10/100 BaseT Ethernet interface for network-wide printing. Standard IEEE 1284 Parallel interface for 1:1 printing. Optional USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394 interfaces for high-speed data transfer using the latest networking technologies. Support for the IEEE b and Bluetooth wireless connectivity to free users from cables and offer the flexibility to print from virtually anywhere in the office. What s more, connected users can manage print jobs and the entire system right from the desktop. All you need is the printer s IP address and SmartNetMonitor software installed on a networked PC to monitor and manage the B079/B082. 7 Use the 600 dpi scanner of the B079/B082 to capture, send, and/or store hardcopy originals right at the device. Programming addresses is accomplished directly at the control panel. The 20 GB Document Server offers an Address Book that stores up to 2,000 addresses right at the system. Address Book maintenance is performed either at the control panel or via SmartNetMonitor or Web Image Monitor utilities. Add new individual or group addresses, edit or delete existing addresses, export data stored on the Document Server for back-up purposes, or duplicate address book data to populate other machines without rekeying. Send digital files instantly and at no cost: Send s to up to 500 recipients at network speed. Enter a subject up to 20 characters using the QWERTY keyboard that appears on the LCD panel. Server-less Scanning Paper documents are efficiently scanned at speeds up to 49 pages per minute at 200dpi. Once captured, images are temporarily stored in the system s standard 20 GB Document Server, and then sent directly to programmed destinations. This innovative server-less model eliminates the need to dedicate a PC to act as a server for scanned images while saving space, money, and allowing you to allocate computer resources elsewhere within your organization. Execute pull-scanning tasks with a TWAIN-compliant driver installed on a user s PC. ScanRouter Lite utility delivers ad-hoc Scan to capabilities at no additional cost. Every user has complete control over scan settings such as resolution, original size and type, image density, and destination(s) for every job. Support for a wide selection of industry standard file formats including TIFF, TIFF-F, Multipage TIFF, PDF, and JPEG ensures digitized documents can always be opened and read by recipients.

Document archival and retrieval: Leverage the power of the 20 GB Document Server to act as an on-site virtual document library. Add the Type 2045 Fax Option to the B079/B082 to increase versatility and value. Maximum 2,000 Quick Dial Numbers: The Type 2045 Fax Option offers a standard complement of 500 Quick Dial locations with a maximum of 2,000. The Type 2045 Fax Option has all of the standard fax features and more for simple operation, convenience, and productivity. Scan one-or two-sided multi-page originals as large as 11 x 17 through the ARDF. Increase your fax capabilities with multiple Super G3 fax lines at your disposal for simultaneous transmission and reception. Install the JBIG Transmission Option, featuring an ITU-approved compression scheme that crunches files sizes to their absolute minimums, and reduce transmission times to 2 seconds per page.

9 Easily search and retrieve a specific document to re-print, re-fax, re-send or download to your computer to for editing from the document server. Store up to 3,000 documents or up to 9,000 pages on the Document Server. Print, edit, or delete archived documents at your convenience with complete access to all copier/printer functions, such as duplexing and finishing. Search and retrieve documents at the control panel, or by launching Web Image Monitor software using a standard Web browser at a connected PC. 20 GB Document Server: Stores digital files for just a few hours or indefinitely, using the hard disk drive to serve as a long-term document repository.

10 B051/B052 Digital Color MFP Integrate your documents with a single touch. Until now, making decisions has always been about compromise. With the B051/B052 series, there is no need to compromise versatility and functionality. The B051/B052 are high-performance multifunction systems that integrate copying, printing, scanning and optional faxing capabilities. They have all of the features you've come to expect from Multi-Functional Products in speed, image quality, paper handling and finishing options. Moreover, they are easy-to-maintain and compact units. What separates the B051/B052 series from the competition is that they can also perform any of their functions in full color. When a splash of color is needed in a document, the B051/B052 can produce it with just a click of a mouse or push of a button. Centralize document production and distribution to create more productive workgroups. Savings that add up It s not unusual to see a fax, copier and a variety of printers installed in an office to handle the wide range of tasks. The B051/B052 incorporate all of these functions into one system; so one solution performs virtually all document production and distribution for the entire workgroup. With the B051/B052 intuitive Panoramic Touch Panel Display, operation could not be any simpler. The interface is designed to minimize steps while maximizing users access to the full range of the MFP s capabilities. This simplicity is carried over to the printing function. With the RPCS print driver; users have access to all of the printing and finishing capabilities in a single-level menu interface. Commonly used printing and finishing settings can be saved and retrieved simply by pointing and clicking. Add finishing touches The B051/B052 put the finishing touches on your documents without lifting a finger. With the 1,000-sheet finishing option, you can collate, sort and staple a wide variety of documents. These systems can handle papers as large as 12 x 18, paper weights as high as 90 lb. Index, and can staple documents with as many as 50 pages in up to two places. There is also a 500-sheet finisher, which sorts, stacks and staples documents up to 30 pages long. With online document collation and stapling, these systems eliminate manual handling and ensure that your documents look their best and are ready for quick distribution. There is color, too Besides copying, scanning, printing and faxing, the B051/B052 offer full color. Most of your documents are still black & white, which sometimes is all that is needed. But for that occasion when you require an accent of color for a critical document or presentation, the B051/B052 can do it with ease. Color pages are integrated seamlessly into the document and finished without manual intervention. You have convenience color at your fingertips! Don't think just because there is vibrant color on the B051/B052 that there is a significant price premium. On the contrary, the difference in cost between the B051/B052 and a comparable black & white MFP is about the cost of a cup of coffee per day! The B051/B052 are available in a variety of configurations so that you can choose the model that fits your needs and budget best. The B051 is capable of producing 24 pages-per-minute in black & white and 8 pages-per-minute in color. It is ideal for the small workgroup. The base model of the B051 comes standard with automatic duplexing and a bypass tray. The B051 S/P model extends the functionality to include network scanning and printing. Optional accessories including automatic document feeder, extra paper trays, and finishers are available to increase productivity and convenience. The B052 has faster throughput, with 32 pages-per-minute in black & white and 10 pages-perminute in color. Well suited to support workgroups, the B052 comes standard with automatic duplexing, a bypass tray, and an Automatic Reversing Document Feeder. The B052 S/P includes network scanning and printing functionality. The B052 shares the same optional accessories with the B051.

Whether documents are copied, printed, or faxed, they can be automatically stored on the system s 40 GB hard drive. After you ve found the right document, the Document Server enables you to leverage it further by combining it with other documents, re-purposing and distributing it on paper, via or fax. PRINTING The B051/B052 are network printers your workgroup can share: 24 or 32 ppm black & white output Less than 8 seconds First Page-Out times 8 or 10 ppm in color Two-page description languages PCL 5c emulation and RPCS standard, and genuine Adobe Postscript 3 as an option Access to any document finishing options SCANNING Every office has numerous documents residing only on paper, which may be the preferred medium for reading, but is inefficient for distribution and archival. The MFP s scanning capability and Document Server utility converts paper-based documents to digital files and routes them to recipients over the network or the Internet through the embedded scan to capability. Color documents can be scanned at up to 600 dpi to capture the finest detail.

13 FAXING With the optional fax capability, the B051/B052 become ultimate document processing hubs, integrating the functions of all office peripherals into one solution. The fax option supports up to two lines for simultaneous reception and transmission. To maintain high image quality, users can fax documents directly from their desktop. B051/B052 incorporate all of the productivity features of dedicated faxes. For added convenience, you can fax two-sided originals using the ARDF. MANAGEMENT CONTROL The B051/B052 come standard with several utilities that provide extensive control, that enables you to manage your documents and MFPs with maximum efficiency. DeskTopBinder Lite, which works in conjunction with Document Server, enables you to view, download, and re-purpose documents stored on the B051/B052 hard disk drive. Job Binder within the RPCS print driver, enables you to assemble individual pages from multiple document, regardless of the application. Then the file can be printed as a new document, complete with new titles, headers, footers and page numbering. SmartNetMonitor configures and monitors the B051/B052 and any other supported device on the network from a client PC. It provides real-time status reports on the B051/B052, including busy/idle, paper and toner levels and the current set-up. Documents can be easily scanned and distributed electronically with the B051/B052. Scanning is supported through: The standard ScanRouter Lite enables you to distribute documents within the immediate network segment. GlobalScan is a new electronic document delivery system that incorporates greater flexibility in designating destinations with LDAP support. High Resolution Transmission/Reception The H31/H311 Series are able to scan documents at the following resolutions: Standard x 100 DPI Detail x 200 DPI Super Fine x 400 DPI Extra Super Fine x 600 DPI The Extra Super Fine mode (600 x 600 DPI) maintains fine details on documents such as maps, architectural drawings and schematics where details are critical. Standard (200 x 100 dpi) Extra Super Fine (600 x 600 dpi) Memory Protection All documents are stored in Standard Memory and retained during power loss for up to 12 hours. Optional 40 MB Memory is non-volatile and retained indefinitely. Should the system be without power for more than 12 hours, none of the documents (received or those stored for sending) will be lost.

18 High Capacity Documents up to 75 pages, and 11 x17 in size, can be inserted into the Automatic Document Feeder. Standard Memory is 7 MB (560 pages) and is expandable up to 3,000 pages. Dialing capacity consists of 144 Quick Dial Keys and 100 Speed Dial codes (expandable to 1,000), and 9 Group Dials (expandable to 30). The H310/H311 Series can be configured up to a maximum paper supply capacity of 2,600 sheets, consisting of five 500 sheet Paper Trays and a 100 sheet Bypass Tray. Rotate Sort features automatically alternates incoming faxes between portrait and landscape orientation so documents are sorted for easy distribution. 23 PPM PCL Printer Add the optional Printer Interface and get a fast 23 ppm network printer. It comes standard with both a Parallel and NIC Interface. 19 All-In-One Toner Cartridge The H310/H311 Series Fax Systems utilize an AIO (All-In-One) Toner Cartridge that is easy to replace and also educes maintenance. The cartridge contains both toner and the Optical Photo Conductor Unit (yield: 10,000 2). Environmentally Friendly The H310/H311 Series fax systems comply with the US Energy Star program. The system will automatically go into standby when it is not used for five minutes, reducing electric consumption to less than 2W. Our products are designed to keep waste out of the landfills. Components used in the H310/H311 Series product are identified with indicators so that they can be easily separated during the recycling process.

Solutions Products maintain documents through one or more stages of the Document Life Cycle. The Document Life Cycle is the sequence of steps a document goes through from the time it is created until it is finally destroyed. These may include editing, distribution, printing, and archival storage, among many other possible steps. The software can convert your paper documents into digital files, store and distribute them, and allow accessibility to any authorized user. Eliminate copying documents! Stop printing faxes! Have immediate access to any file on your network right from your PC desktop! Maximized Workflow Environment Store scanned documents on a ScanRouter Enterprise Server and deliver them to client PCs through specified Windows folders (maximum 200). Distribute files to up to 2,000 destinations through the ScanRouter Enterprise Server when connected to the B079/B082 and other supported devices. When a designated printer is found, the print job is divided equally among those appropriate peripherals. Parallel Printing works only when multiple sets of a document are required. It cannot divide a single document between Ricoh devices.

48 Peer-to-Peer Printing Peer-to-Peer Printing enables your clients to print directly to a Ricoh-connected system via TCP/IP, eliminating the need for a print server. In addition, this feature of SmartNetMonitor is independent of the type of Network Operating System (NOS) in use (i.e., Novell Netware, Windows NT, etc.). Also, because print jobs are not following the Client/Server route, users may see their jobs print faster.
