Installing the EPICenter 5.0 Software This chapter describes the process of installing or upgrading EPICenter 5.0, and contains the following sections: Obtaining a License on page 5 Installing the Server in Windows on page 6 Installing the Stand-Alone Client in Windows on page 10 Starting and Stopping the Server in Windows on page 11 Installing the Server in Solaris on page 11 Installing the Stand-Alone Client in Solaris on page 14 Starting and Stopping the Server in Solaris on page 16 Adding or Upgrading a License Key on page 16 Installing a Difference Viewer on page 17 Enabling SSH on page 17 Uninstalling the EPICenter Software on page 18 Obtaining a License To log in to the EPICenter server from an EPICenter client, EPICenter must be configured with a valid license. Upgrades such as the Policy Manager also require their own license keys. EPICenter supports both permanent and evaluation licenses. An evaluation license allows you to run the product for 30 days. A permanent license has no time limit. You can install the software without a license key, but you cannot connect to it from an EPICenter client. (If you install the product without a license key, you can add the key later using a license key upgrade utility, as described in Adding or Upgrading a License Key on page 16.) Both permanent and evaluation license keys are 14-character keys that start with EP and are followed by 12 additional upper- and lower-case alphabetic characters, numbers, and special characters such as +. The license key is NOT the same as the activation key, which starts with AC, and found on the License Agreement shipped with your purchased product. You use the activation key to obtain a permanent license key as described below. EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note 5

Installing the EPICenter 5.0 Software Obtaining a Permanent License To obtain a permanent license key, go to Select the option to obtain a permanent license key. Fill in the requested information, and enter your activation key. The activation key is a 14-character key that starts with AC and is found on the License Agreement included with your software package. Your permanent license key will be sent to you by return . Obtaining an Evaluation License You do not need an activation key to obtain an evaluation license key. To obtain an evaluation license key, go to Select the option to obtain an evaluation license key. You are asked to enter your name, company information, and similar information, and an address to which your license key should be sent. Your evaluation license key will be sent to you by return . Upgrading from Earlier Versions of EPICenter If you have EPICenter 4.0 or EPICenter 4.1 installed, you can migrate your database information to EPICenter 5.0 as part of the upgrade process. Upgrades from earlier versions of EPICenter or ExtremeWare Enterprise Manager are not supported. You cannot upgrade from a Beta Release of EPICenter 5.0. You must uninstall and re-install the EPICenter 5.0 software. Changes from EPICenter 4.0/4.1 After an upgrade and database migration, there are a few things that will have changed: Incremental configuration files saved in the tftp/user/baselines subdirectory in EPICenter 4.1 are now found in the tftp/user/incremental subdirectory in EPICenter 5.0. The baselines subdirectory is now used for configuration files you either designate or upload specifically as baseline configurations. Installing the Server in Windows For installation under the Microsoft Windows operating system, the requirements are as follows: Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional, or Windows 2003 Server running on an Intel Pentium-compatible CPU. 256 MB RAM minimum for running the server only (1 GB recommended). For managing a large number of devices, or if running both the server and client on the same system, more memory may be required. 1 GB is needed if the EPICenter inventory will contain more than 1000 devices 6 EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note

Installing the Server in Windows 500 MB disk space available 1 Ghz minimum Pentium-compatible processor (2 Ghz or greater recommended) CD-ROM drive (for installation) A network connection Additional disk space may be needed to hold alarm logs and other runtime data. The amount of space depends on the number of devices and the number of traps and syslog messages generated by the managed devices. To install the EPICenter software components in Windows you must have administrator privileges on that system. CAUTION If you are running an evaluation version of the EPICenter 5.0 software, DO NOT REINSTALL the EPICenter software to upgrade to a permanent license if you want to retain the information in your EPICenter database. Reinstalling will reinitialize the database. Using the license installation utility will preserve the contents of the database. To update an evaluation copy of the EPICenter server to a licensed copy without reinitializing the database, follow the update procedure described in Adding or Upgrading a License Key on page 16. To install the EPICenter server you will need to enter the following information: The 14-character permanent or evaluation license key (or you can skip the license key step and add it later). The port that the EPICenter Server will use to communicate with the database (default is 10553) The HTTP Port for communication with EPICenter clients (default is 8080) You can use any port numbers (numbers between 1024 and are recommended), except port numbers already in use by another process. Extreme Networks recommends that you choose port numbers that are not currently registered at Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA). To check if a port number is registered, go to You will be able to choose to do the following: Transfer and upgrade the database from EPICenter 4.0 or EPICenter 4.1 Enable automatic information updates: EPICenter will connect to the Extreme Networks web site to obtain a list of the current ExtremeWare releases and the latest EPICenter patches Install EPICenter in Non-Intrusive mode where EPICenter will NOT be configured as a trap receiver on any network devices discovered or added to its Inventory database Install the EPICenter server components as services EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note 7

Installing the EPICenter 5.0 Software Restart your system to start the EPICenter servers if they are to run as services, or start the EPICenter servers as applications The stand-alone client application is also installed as part of the Server installation. Server Installation Steps To install the EPICenter server on a system running Windows, do the following: 1 Insert the CDROM into the CDROM drive. 2 In most cases, the ExtremeWare EPICenter Welcome screen appears automatically. If it does not: a Open My Computer or Windows Explorer, and go to your CDROM drive. b Open the win\server directory, and start setup.exe. The ExtremeWare EPICenter Welcome screen appears. 3 Follow the on-screen instructions to progress through the installation. 4 If you have a previous version of EPICenter installed, you are notified that the services will be stopped in order to install the new EPICenter software. If this is acceptable, click Yes. 5 You will be asked to enter your license key. If you do not yet have a key, you can still install the product, and then update the key later using the instlic.exe utility. See Adding or Upgrading a License Key on page 16. To skip entering a key, leave the field blank and click Next. If you have purchased the EPICenter software along with an upgrade such as the Policy Manager upgrade or Gold upgrade, you can enter only one of the keys here; you must use the instlic.exe utility to install the additional key(s). It is recommended that you install the base license key first (during the software installation) as you will not be able to login to the EPICenter server until the base license is installed, even if you have already installed one of the upgrade licenses. The license key is NOT the same as the activation key, which starts with AC, and is found on the License Agreement shipped with your purchased product. See Obtaining a License on page 5. 6 A dialog box will ask if you want to enable Automatic Information Updates. If you enable this feature, EPICenter will connect to the Extreme Networks web site at server start-up and once every 24 hours to obtain a list of the current ExtremeWare releases, and a list of any available EPICenter patches. No information is sent to Extreme Networks except an indication that you are running with an evaluation license, if that is the case. If you click No to disable this feature, you will still be able to obtain this information through the Software Update feature in the Firmware Manager. 7 A dialog box will ask if you want to install the EPICenter server in non-intrusive mode. In non-intrusive mode EPICenter does NOT register EPICenter as a trap receiver on the devices that are discovered or added to the EPICenter inventory database. This mode is useful if you are running EPICenter as a demonstration or evaluation installation. If you want to have EPICenter configured as a trap receiver on all Extreme Networks devices (the normal operating mode for EPICenter) click No. 8 EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note

Installing the Server in Windows If you install the EPICenter server in non-intrusive mode and later want to change it so it will register itself as a trap receiver on Extreme Networks devices, you will need to edit the management.properties file to turn off non-intrusive mode. See Appendix A, Troubleshooting in the EPICenter Concepts and Solutions Guide for more detailed instructions. 8 After the EPICenter files have been copied, the Install as a Service dialog box asks if you want to install the EPICenter database and web server components as Windows services. Click Yes to install the EPICenter components as services. This is strongly recommended. If the EPICenter components run as services, they are started automatically on system boot, and will persist across user logins and logouts. You must have Administrator privileges to install the EPICenter components as services. In addition, if you want to be able to import user and host information from a Windows Domain Controller, the EPICenter server must run with permissions that allow it to get user information from a Domain Controller. Click No if you do not want to install the components as services. You will be able to start and stop the EPICenter server from the from the EPICenter 5.0 submenu on the Windows Programs -> Extreme Networks menu. 9 If you are upgrading from the previous release of the EPICenter software, you are asked whether you want to copy the database and other persistent data to the new installation. Click Yes to copy the data, or No to continue without doing so. If you answer Yes, an MS-DOS window appears briefly while the database contents are dumped from the old database and loaded into the new database. This installation utility will upgrade the database from EPICenter 4.0 or 4.1 to EPICenter 5.0. Database upgrades from earlier versions of EPICenter or ExtremeWare Enterprise Manager are not supported. 10 The installation procedure now installs the license key. An MS-DOS window appears briefly while this occurs. If the license key you entered is invalid, an error window appears. If you did not enter a license key, a warning appears. In either case, you can use the instlic utility to enter a valid license key after you have completed your installation. 11 In the final dialog box, EPICenter Setup Complete, you can do the following. Click the checkbox to indicate you want to view the Readme file. If you have installed the EPICenter components as services, click the second checkbox to indicate you want your system to be restarted. If you choose not to restart your system at this time, you must either restart your system or start the services manually before you can login to the EPICenter server from a client. Click Finish to complete the installation process. EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note 9

Installing the EPICenter 5.0 Software 12 If you are upgrading from EPICenter 4.0 or 4.1 and added or modified any reports, or added new switch software images to the previous EPICenter installation, you should copy or move these files to the new installation. You must manually copy Image files you have placed in the subdirectories under the <EPICenter_install_dir>\user\tftp directory to the corresponding directories in the new installation. You must copy any reports you have added, and merge any reports you have customized in the <EPICenter_install_dir>\user\reports\html or <EPICenter_install_dir>\user\reports\tcl directories For reports you have modified, you must merge your changes into the new versions of the reports in the new installation. Installing the Stand-Alone Client in Windows An EPICenter client requires a monitor that supports 1024 x 768 resolution, and at least 16-bit color. Your system display settings must be set for at least colors. The client can use large amounts of memory. 256 MB of RAM is recommended for best performance (128 MB is the minimum). If you have installed the EPICenter 5.0 server software, the client has already been installed as part of the server installation, and you will not be able to install the client separately. To install the stand-alone client application on a client-only workstation running Windows, do the following: 1 Close any open applications. 2 Insert the CDROM into the CDROM drive. 3 If the CD starts up automatically, click cancel to exit the server installation process, the do the following steps. If the CD does not start up automatically, follow these steps: a Open My Computer or Windows Explorer, and go to your CDROM drive. b Go to the win directory, open the client directory, and start setup.exe. The EPICenter Client Welcome screen appears. 4 Follow the on-screen instruction to progress through the Welcome screen. You will need to enter the following information: The name or IP address of the EPICenter server to which the client should connect The HTTP port that the client will use to communicate with the server (default is 8080) You must enter both the Server and HTTP port information, or leave both fields empty. If you leave the fields empty, you can enter the server and port information each time you run the client. 10 EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note

Starting and Stopping the Server in Windows Starting and Stopping the Server in Windows If the server components are running as services, and you have left their startup type as Automatic (the default after installation) the services will be started when you restart your computer. Starting the Server If you need to start the services manually: 1 Open the Services window (found in Administrative Tools in the Control Panel). 2 Highlight EPICenter 5.0 Database Engine, right-click and select Start from the pop-up menu to start the EPICenter database server 3 Start the EPICenter 5.0 Server in the same manner. If you installed EPICenter as an regular application rather than as services, you must start the server from the Windows Start menu: 1 From the Start menu, highlight Programs, then Extreme Networks, followed by EPICenter 5.0 to display the EPICenter menu. 2 Click Start EPICenter 5.0 Server. This runs runserv.exe, a program that starts the two components in the required order. An MS-DOS window may very briefly appear as these processes are started. Stopping the Server To stop the EPICenter server if the server components are running as services: 1 Open the Services window (found in Administrative Tools in the Control Panel). 2 Highlight EPICenter 5.0 Server, right-click and select Stop to stop the EPICenter Server 3 Stop the EPICenter 5.0 Database Engine in the same manner. To stop the EPICenter if it is running as an application: 1 From the Start menu, highlight Programs, then Extreme Networks, followed by EPICenter 5.0, then select Stop EPICenter 5.0 Server. This opens an MS-DOS command window and shuts down the EPICenter server and database. Installing the Server in Solaris The EPICenter server software, version 5.0, is supported under Sun Solaris Operating Environment, specifically Solaris 2.8 or Solaris 2.9. The system requirements are as follows: Solaris 2.8 or Solaris MB RAM minimum. For managing a large number of devices, more memory may be required. More than 512 MB is needed if the EPICenter inventory will contain more than 200 devices. 400 Mhz or better processor 600 MB disk space available CD-ROM drive (for installation) EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note 11

Installing the EPICenter 5.0 Software A network connection The instructions that follow assume that you are running in a command shell or Xterm window. You can install the EPICenter components without being logged in as root, as long as you do not use port numbers less than 1024 (for example, port 80 for the EPICenter web server, which is the default). The port that the EPICenter Web Server will use to communicate with the database (default is 10553) The HTTP Port for communication with EPICenter clients (default is 8080) You can use any port numbers (numbers between 1024 and are recommended), except port numbers already in use by another process. Extreme Networks recommends that you choose port numbers that are not currently registered at Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA). To check if a port number is registered, go to You will be able to choose to do the following: Upgrade the database from ExtremeWare EPICenter 4.0 or 4.1 Enable automatic information updates: If you enable this option EPICenter will connect to the Extreme Networks web site when you start the EPICenter client, and once every 24 hours to obtain a list of the current ExtremeWare releases and the latest EPICenter patches. Install EPICenter in Non-Intrusive mode where EPICenter will NOT be configured as a trap receiver on any Extreme Networks devices discovered or added to its Inventory database. This is useful if you want to run EPICenter in a demo mode without impacting your devices. Start the EPICenter server The stand-alone client application is also installed as part of the Server installation. Required Patches The Solaris 8 or Solaris 9 operating environment requires patches for the EPICenter software to function properly. Make certain these patches have been installed before you install the EPICenter server software. 12 EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note

Installing the Server in Solaris For the most current information on required patches, see the EPICenter Release Note that accompanies your EPICenter software, or go to the Extreme Networks web site at Sun Microsystems makes these patches available at the following site: On this page, select Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE) 1.4.2_05 Production Release for Solaris, English, SPARC Edition. The patches listed for this release apply to the 1.4.2_05 Plug-in as well. You must register or log in, and then you will be presented with the download page that includes Solaris patch bundles. Local Name Resolution The Solaris system on which EPICenter is installed must be able to resolve both its own local name and its domain name. For example if you install EPICenter on a system named system1, then it must be able to resolve both system1 and its domain name, such as system1.company.com. You can test for this by attempting to ping the system using both the local name and the domain name. If there are problems resolving either of these names, make sure the /etc/hosts file contains the correct information. Server Installation Steps To install the EPICenter server on a system using the Solaris operating system: 1 Insert the CDROM into the CDROM drive. 2 If you are running CDE, the contents of the CDROM are displayed in the File Manager. Go to the /cdrom<n>/epc5_0b<xx>/sol/server directory. To run from an Xterm window: cd /cdrom<n>/epc5_0b<xx>/sol/server In this command, <n> is your CDROM drive number (e.g. cdrom0). The volume label of the installation CD is epc5_0b<xx>, where <xx> is a two-digit number, e.g. epc5_0b46. 3 Run the installation script:./install.sh The EPICenter Welcome message appears. 4 Follow the on-screen instructions to progress through the installation. 5 When you are asked for the installation directory, enter a directory or accept the default (/opt/extreme/epc5_0). Make sure there are no spaces in the directory names. If you specify a directory that does not exist, you are asked whether it should be created: 6 You are asked whether you want to upgrade from a previous installation of EPICenter. You can upgrade from EPICenter 4.0 or EPICenter 4.1. If you answer Yes, the install script asks for the location of the previous version of EPICenter. Accept the default or enter the actual location (full path name). 7 You are asked to enter a license key. EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note 13

Installing the EPICenter 5.0 Software The license key is NOT the same as the activation key, which starts with AC, and is found on the License Agreement shipped with your purchased product. See Obtaining a License on page 5. If you do not yet have a key, you can still install the product, and then update the key later using the instlic.exe utility. See Adding or Upgrading a License Key on page 16. If you have purchased the EPICenter software along with an upgrade such as the Policy Manager upgrade or Gold upgrade, you can enter only one of the keys here; you must use the instlic.exe utility to install the additional key(s). It is recommended that you install the base license key first (during the software installation) as you will not be able to login to the EPICenter client until the base license is installed, even if you have already installed one of the upgrade licenses. 8 You are asked if you want to enable Automatic Information Updates. If you answer N to disable Automatic Information Updates, you will still be able to obtain this information through the Software Update feature in the Firmware Manager. 9 You are asked if you want to install the EPICenter server in Non-Intrusive Mode. In non-intrusive mode EPICenter does NOT register EPICenter as a trap receiver on the devices that are discovered or added to the EPICenter inventory database. This mode is useful if you are running EPICenter as a demonstration or evaluation installation. To have EPICenter installed in its normal operating mode, where EPICenter is configured as a trap receiver on network devices, accept No (the default). To install in non-intrusive mode, enter Yes. If you install the EPICenter server in non-intrusive mode and later want to change it so it will register itself as a trap receiver on Extreme Networks devices, you will need to edit the management.properties file to turn off non-intrusive mode. See Appendix A, Troubleshooting in the EPICenter Concepts and Solutions Guide for more detailed instructions. 10 Finally, you are asked to confirm the configuration parameters. If you accept the parameters by entering Y, the installation script finishes with a series of informative messages. If you are upgrading from an earlier version of EPICenter, you will also see a series of messages relating to the database upgrade. If you have added switch images, uploaded configuration files, or created custom reports, you are reminded to copy or merge those files. If you have customized any of the standard reports, you must merge your changes into the new versions of the reports in the new installation. 11 Finally, you are given the opportunity to have the EPICenter server started for you. Answer Yes to start the server immediately, or No if you want to start it at a later time. Installing the Stand-Alone Client in Solaris An EPICenter client requires a monitor that supports 1024 x 768 resolution, and at least 16-bit color. Your system display settings must be set for at least colors. 14 EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note

Installing the Server in Solaris The client can use large amounts of memory. 256 MB of RAM is recommended for best performance (128 MB is the minimum). If you have installed the EPICenter 5.0 server software, the client has already been installed as part of the server installation, and you will not be able to install the client separately. To install the stand-alone client application on a client-only Solaris workstation: 1 Insert the CDROM into the CDROM drive. 2 If you are running CDE, the contents of the CDROM are displayed in the File Manager. Go to the /cdrom<n>/epc5_0b<xx>/sol/client directory. To run from an Xterm window: cd /cdrom<n>/epc5_0b<xx>/sol/client In this command, <n> is your CDROM drive number (e.g. cdrom0). The volume label of the installation CD is epc5_0b<xx>, where <xx> is a two-digit number, e.g. epc5_0b46. 3 Run the installation script:./client.sh The EPICenter Client Welcome message appears. 4 Follow the on-screen instructions to progress through the installation. 5 You are prompted for the directory where the EPICenter Client software should be installed. Enter a directory or accept the default (/opt/extreme/epc5_0_client). Make sure there are no spaces in the directory names. 6 You will need to enter the following information: The name or IP address of the EPICenter server to which the client should connect The HTTP port that the client will use to communicate with the server (default is 8080) You must enter both the Server and HTTP port information, or leave both blank. If you do not enter this information, you can enter the server and port information each time you run the client. 7 As the installation script finishes, you are asked if you want to start the client. Enter Y to start the EPICenter client now, or N to start it at a later time. When you run the EPICenter stand-alone client on Solaris-based systems, you should first unset the following localization environment variables: LANG LC_MONETARY LC_NUMERIC LC_COLLATE LC_TIME EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note 15

Installing the EPICenter 5.0 Software LC_CTYPE LC_MESSAGES Starting and Stopping the Server in Solaris In Solaris the EPICenter installation process does not set up the server to start up automatically. Starting the Server To start the EPICenter server as a daemon (recommended) enter the command: /etc/init.d/epicenter start To run the EPICenter Server as an application: a Set the current directory to the EPICenter install directory: cd <install_dir> <install_dir> is the directory (path) where you installed the EPICenter components. If you installed in the default directory, the path is /opt/extreme/epc5_0. b Execute runserv to start the two EPICenter components in the required order. runserv & Stopping the Server To stop the EPICenter server if it is running as a daemon, enter the command /etc/init.d/epicenter stop If you installed the EPICenter server as an application, run the stopserv command found in the root installation directory. 1 Set the current directory to the EPICenter install directory: cd <install_dir> <install_dir> is the directory (path) where you installed the EPICenter components. If you installed in the default directory, the path is /opt/extreme/epc5_0. 2 Execute runserv to start the two EPICenter components in the required order: stopserv & This shuts down the EPICenter server if it is running. Adding or Upgrading a License Key To upgrade an evaluation license of the ExtremeWare EPICenter to a permanent license, or to install a license after you have completed the software installation, use the instlic utility. In Windows, run this command from the Start menu Run command, or in an MS-DOS command window. In Solaris, run it from a command shell. 16 EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note

Installing a Difference Viewer 1 Go to the EPICenter installation directory: In Windows, the default installation directory is C:Proram FilesExtreme NetworksEPICenter50 In Solaris, the default installation directory is /opt/extreme/epc5_0 You must have write permission for the EPICenter install directory. 2 Enter the instlic command followed by the 14-character license key: instlic <license_key> DO NOT reinstall the software to add or upgrade a license key if you have any data or configurations of value in the EPICenter database. Re-installation will re-initialize the database. After you enter the new license key, any logged-in clients must logout and login again to access the newly-enabled features. Adding a License for an Upgrade Product When you purchase a product upgrade option such as the EPICenter Policy Manager, you receive a separate key to enable the upgrade features. To add the license key for an EPICenter upgrade product, use the instlic utility as described above. Installing a Difference Viewer The EPICenter 5.0 Configuration Manager provides a new Diff feature that allows you to compare configuration files using a Difference viewer. This feature requires that a Difference viewer be installed on the system where the client resides. You cannot use the Diff feature with a standard text editor. You can use any Diff viewer you have installed on your client system. In the Configuration Manager, you use the Setup Viewers command to tell EPICenter the location of the viewer. For Windows, you can obtain a Diff viewer from the following sources: WinMerge.exe; downloadable from Araxis Merge; 30 day free trial evaluation downloadable from For Solaris, sdiff (in /usr/bin/sdiff) is assumed as the default. Enabling SSH There are three requirements for enabling EPICenter to use SSH to communicate with the devices it manages: The EPICenter SSH Enabling Module must be installed An SSH client must be installed on the system where the EPICenter server is installed SSH must be enabled on the devices to which you want to communicate EPICenter Installation and Upgrade Note 17

Installing the EPICenter 5.0 Software The EPICenter SSH Enabling Module EPICenter s SSH2 capability can be enabled via the EPICenter SSH Enabling Module. The enabling module allows EPICenter to interface to an SSH-2 client to securely send and receive data using the SSH-2 protocol. This module must be downloaded from Extreme Networks. The SSH2 capability uses strong encryption, so prior to downloading the enabler module you must provide certain information to Extreme Networks in order to confirm compliance with the export regulations administered by the Bureau of Industry and Security under the U.S. Department of Commerce. To enable EPICenter to use SSH-2, fill out the End-User Certification Form at: After you submit the form, Extreme Networks performs a review and responds to you, generally within 2 business days. If the information provided conforms to the applicable export regulations, you receive an with the information needed to obtain the ssh-enabler key file. Place the ssh-enabler key file in your existing EPICenter installation directory to unlock the EPICenter SSH-2 features. If the information provided does not conform to the regulations, you receive an indicating a denial of acceptance. Installing an SSH Client EPICenter uses an external SSH client to communicate with devices using SSH. Therefore you must have an SSH client installed on the system where the EPICenter server is installed. EPICenter supports PuTTy in a Windows environment, and OpenSSH in a Solaris environment. EPICenter obtains the path to the SSH client from a server property set in the Admin applet. You must ensure that this path is correct. Uninstalling the EPICenter Software To uninstall the EPICenter software, you must first shut down the server components (database and web server). Then you can remove the program components from your system. Uninstalling the EPICenter Server in Windows Using the Windows Operating Systems versions, you can run the EPICenter server components as services, or as regular applications. The uninstall procedure is slightly different for these two situations. To uninstall the EPICenter server software and all of the EPICenter components, including the stand-alone client, do the following: 1 Shut down the EPICenter components if they are still running (see Stopping the Server on page 11). 2 From the Control Panel folder, double-click Add/Remove Programs.
