4 1 General General RADWIN is an LA release for RADWIN 2000 product families introduces general band support changes over releases and is a Limited Availability (LA) release for RADWIN 2000 radios. RADWIN 2000 radios deliver high-capacity, long-range connectivity at the industry s most competitive prices, and comply with worldwide regulations and industry standards. Compact and robust, RADWIN 2000 products provide Ethernet and native TDM (up to 16 E1s/T1s), thus enabling seamless migration from TDM to all-ip networks. RW RW RW RW Change H/W Revision from #6 to #9 Support HSSoE 4 What's new in the release Please be advised that due to a change we have made to streamline RADWIN production, as of this release, all FCC based radios (FCC defined as the default band) will not support other optional bands. Due to the above mentioned change, we recommend the following two basic ordering options: o o Customers that are required to operate according to FCC regulations should purchase FCC based radios. All others should purchase Universal based radio (Universal defined as the default band). RADWIN LA Page 7

New 5.x GHz ETSI The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) has updated the standard for wireless equipment operating in the 5.x GHz frequency bands The new standard ( V1.7.1) takes effect from January 1st, 2015 All RW2000 ETSI Radios have been tested and certified against the new standard RADWIN LA Page 8

When connecting an RADWIN 2000 radio to any other IDU, an incompatibility alarm is issued and a link is not established. Connecting an RADWIN 2000 radio to any other PoE device (e.g. AT006284X) will yield indeterminate results. Bridge addresses In some scenarios the bridge learns less than 1024 addresses. 2. TX power limitation in 5.4 GHz ETSI lowest and highest channels Due to compliance limitations, TX power is limited in the lowest and highest channels in the 5.4 GHz ETSI band (for radios RW and RW ) 3. Minimum MIR value Minimum MIR value is 256 Kbps 4. TCP ACK prioritization 5. Backup/Restore TCP ACK prioritization does not work when 'TCP Time stamp' option is enabled on the host PC Reference - HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters Software downgrade from release to any older release via full restore will restore the IP address to the default IP address RADWIN LA Page 14

15 Known Issues 9 Known Issues Issue RADWIN 2000A-Series (RW-2250) with CBW 5MHz may suffer degraded throughput due to incorrect distance calculation (Up to 2Km) Re-syncing the link may help Telnet: changing immediate Name, Location or Contact will take affect only after reset Workaround - Reset site for changes to take affect Under Web Base Management: Occasionally, the "Monitor" button does not work in "Change Band" page Workaround Log off and log on to the site Under Web Base Management: Antenna Connection type change is not applied in the ODU from Web Interface. TDM BER in 40 MHz channel BW TDM BER or Sync Loss Software upgrade indication Setting IP address timeout Use the NMS to change it In RADWIN Series, TDM BER may occur during extreme Ethernet burst traffic conditions TDM BER or Sync Loss may occur for a few seconds during various configuration changes Software upgrade indication may refer to the wrong site of a link. Upgrade both sites to the latest release. When setting the ODU IP address, the operation may timeout. The ODU IP address is changed even in the event of timeout. Ignore the timeout and connect to the ODU with the new IP address. RADWIN LA Page 15

16 Known Issues Issue DFS false radar detection Ethernet capacity Occasionally, false radar detection occurs under interference in DFS bands FCC 5.3 and 5.4 GHz and ETSI 5.3, 5.4 and 5.8 GHz. The DFS algorithm will select the best channel. If interference is high or in many channels, select another band. Ethernet capacity at max air rate (270 Mbps, 40 MHz channel), with TDM services enabled, is lower than displayed Display issues Redundant traps under Ring application Various issues affect the display but do not affect functionality. Most workarounds are in the nature of refresh the display, e.g. close and reopen the Manager, do Back or Next in wizards, or ignore the shown values. Sometimes, under a ring application, when resetting an RPL link, multiple traps of "RPL state changed to Active" are displayed in the RADWIN Manager, instead of a single trap Excessive traffic rate in Ring application QoS Best Effort queue Under excessive traffic of small packet size of 64 bytes to 100 bytes, RPL may switch from idle to active mode. To avoid this scenario, set the "Minimum time for failure detection" parameter to a value greater than 200 ms. By disabling the QoS feature, the MIR of the "Best Effort" queue remains as configured when the QoS was enabled. IP address configuration It may not be possible to configure the IP address on a site where the Link ID is undefined. In this case, first define a Link ID. RADWIN LA Page 16

17 Known Issues Issue NMS login screen uptime is occasionally longer (up to 15sec worst case) Ignore. Login screen does eventually appear. Compatibility event The label 'SWU ' is missing under a scenario when one site of the link is running under version while the other site is running with older software. This issue does not affect service. To resolve the issue, upgrade both sides of the link to the software version. Service indication Sometimes, after link comes up, Service indication is 'Services none' although Ethernet service is up and running. To resolve the display problem, reset both sites of the link. PER & Low RSS in RADWIN 2000C 4.4GHz Line code B8ZS/AMI appears in E1 window Local connection fails on first login attempt RADWIN 2000 C (RW ) F64 product - RSS temporary indication Sometimes, with the link is running with highest modulation, following a sync loss, there may be slight performance degradation with the RSS being lower than expected. The RSS stabilizes after several minutes. When E1 window is opened in the manager, the B8ZS/AMI lines coding configuration appears whereas these line codings are relevant only to T1. This is only a display problem. The first local connection login attempt fails where the Read/Write option is enabled. Workaround logout and log oin again to the ODU At RW (6.4 GHz) product - Sometimes short RSS balances indication may appear after first installation. RSS values may drop for a short period and automatically restore to normal link RADWIN LA Page 17

18 Known Issues Issue RADWIN Manager termination In rare cases, after software upgrade is completed and reset is done, a Microsoft.NET framework error will appear and RADWIN Manager instance will be terminated RADWIN Manager disconnection In rare cases, RADWIN manager is disconnected from RADWIN NMS (RNMS) when RADWIN manager is connected to RNMS via proxy connection. Workaround - Close RADWIN manager and reopen it RNMS RNMS fails to execute RADWIN Manager that uses SNMPv3 protocol. Workaround - Open RADWIN manager manually from windows RADWIN Manager password recovery Password recovery doesn t work via RADWIN Manager login screen in case password is forgotten and alternative community/password is entered RADWIN Manager disconnection In rare cases, RADWIN Manager may not reconnected after long period of LAN disconnection (remain unreachable). Workaround logout and relogin to ODU TX power is not update On RADWIN 2000 A-Series products (H/W Rev. 4 and below) Tx Power change may not be updated at Site Configuration after Re-sync when link is in install mode RADWIN Manager display Recent event display Occasionally, after remote site reset via RADWIN Manager, label "Unknown" appears on local/remote site and remote site monitor presents wrong values e.g. RSS -1dbm In rare cases, wrong date (x/y/1942) may appear in recent event log after several sync loss RADWIN LA Page 18

19 Known Issues Issue HSM & 1588v2 traffic Software upgrade fails on license band ODU SNMPv3 TRAPs are not received in RNMS 1588v2 traffic is blocked by RADWIN 2000 when ODU (that support HSSoE) is configure as HSM (Master) and it generate HSS signal in mode Ethernet or Ethernet & Serial. 1588v2 traffic is not blocked when HSM is set to Serial Software upgrade fails if ODU is Inactive (not transmit) follow by Errors 3002 "No snmp connection to device. Workaround activate the ODU When RADWIN manager release is running on the PC and ODUs are set to send TRAP in SNMPv3, the RNMS (or other application) can t receive the TRAPs from the ODU. Workaround - On the PC s Windows OS, stop or disable the nmstrap.exe service 3.x GHz H/W compatibility QoS traffic allocation In rare cases, ODU H/W Rev. 9 do not synchronized with ODU H/W Rev. 6 under CBW 5MHz Workaround Don't use CBW 5Mhz or use same H/W version on both sites In case more than one stream per queue is defined, the traffic allocation between the streams may be asymmetric under fixed rate 16/64 QAM NMS fails to open when launched from RNMS to unit under SNMPv3 (device unreachable message) Workaround - Connect via SNMPv1 if possible (problem actually at RNMS) RADWIN Manager Login under SNMPv3 In rare cases, Login to RADWIN Manager under SNMPv3 auto-mode fails with device unreachable message Workaround - Re-login to the RADWIN Manager RADWIN LA Page 19

21 10 Appendix: Multi Bands Radios Appendix: Multi Bands Radios RADWIN 2000 products are shipped with a selection of enabled bands to comply with regulations. Additional bands are supported and disabled (i.e. invisible to the user). A License Key to enable supported bands can be obtained at following customer s online Declaration of Compliance with local regulations. Use the License Key Generator to check whether your ODUs support your required bands according to the ODU serial number.
