What s New in this Release? The release contains updates to the MYOB Advanced system, including restrictions on the use of a demonstration system, updates to the default security preferences and changes to the company snapshot feature. The following sections provide details of the features included in this release. MYOB Advanced Business Release Notes Page 2 of 8

3 New Features The new features introduced in this release of the MYOB Advanced Business are detailed below. Restrictions on Demonstration Use This release contains updates that restrict how the MYOB Advanced system can be used when in demo mode. An instance of MYOB Advanced that is locally installed, or licenced for DEMO or PARTNER use offers full access to all features, allowing it to be used for training, development and support; however, the following restrictions apply: A message indicating that the system is for demonstration use only appears in the footer of all forms. A message indicating that the system is for demonstration use only appears in the footer of all reports generated by the system. The subject line of all s sent from the system includes the text SENT FROM DEMO SYSTEM. Changes to Security Preferences The default policies on the Security Preferences form (SM ) are now set as follows: Setting Default Value Notes Lock Account After 3 minutes Must always be set at 3. Lock Account For 60 minutes Can be as low as 15; no upper limit. Reset Lockout Counter After 50 minutes Can be as low as 10; no upper limit, but must be less than the Lock Account For value. Force User to Change Password Every 180 days Can be set to a lower amount, but cannot be higher than 180. Cannot be disabled. Password Security Type Hash Cannot be changed. 4 New Demonstration Databases Two new demonstration databases are available to partners when installing MYOB Advanced on-premise: DEMO_AU DEMO_NZ These databases are based on the existing RapidByte demonstration database, but include localised data where relevant, e.g. in BAS & GST labelling and on reports. They do not include localisation-specific tax configuration or company details. Fully localised demonstration databases will be made available in a future release. Updates to the BAS Report Applies to AU installations only. The system has been updated to handle tax bills from Customs, which consist of 100% tax. A new G20A ALL GST PURCH tax code is available for entering such bills. The GST calculation worksheet for BAS report includes a new field for G20A GST on purchases (Imports), which displays the total of all amounts recorded using the new tax code. The G20 field on the BAS worksheet is now calculated as (G19 divided by eleven) + G20A: Company Snapshots This release includes changes to the process of saving and restoring company snapshots, to protect clients data by restricting the kinds of deployments that can and can t be restored to a company. New warning messages have also been added to the process to ensure that clients are informed of the risks associated with saving and restoring snapshots. 5 Each instance of MYOB Advanced has a deployment type, which will be one of: Production used for an MYOB SaaS/cloud deployment. Sandbox used for a client s sandbox deployment within the MYOB SaaS environment, for testing as and when required. Upgrade used for a client s sandbox deployment within the MYOB SaaS environment, for testing their specific setup in the next version of MYOB Advanced. Trial used with a temporary licence for trials of the product where appropriate. Partner used where a licence is provided to an MYOB Advanced Business Partner for demonstration purposes, for use exclusively by the partner. Partner LOCAL used where the licence is provided to a partner for demonstration and certification training purposes, for use exclusively by the partner. The deployment type is recorded in each company snapshot, and snapshots are restricted in terms of which deployment type(s) they are allowed to be restored to. The following table shows which deployment types are allowed to be restored to which. Rows represent the Deployment Type that is being restored and columns represent the target Deployment Type that the snapshot is being restored to. 6 Start Menu Folder After installation, MYOB Advanced links now appear in the Windows Start menu under an MYOB Advanced folder. Update to Bank Imports The MYOB Advanced system now supports bank statement imports using formats where OFX VERSION = 200. Updated EULA Links The links to the MYOB Advanced End User Licence Agreement (EULA) have been updated on the login page and the About MYOB Advanced popup. The copyright notice that appears in these places has also been updated. MYOB Advanced Business Release Notes Page 6 of 8

7 Resolved Issues The following table details the issues that are addressed by this release. Type Bug Bug Description The Help wiki would sometimes hang in a SaaS environment. This has been resolved. The warning message displayed in the footer when a site is in arrears was displayed to all users. This has been resolved; this message is displayed only to users with the Full User licence type. 8 Known Issues The following Known Issues have been identified in this release. Partner users visible on some forms User accounts with the licence type MYOB_Partner and the Admin account used exclusively by MYOB are hidden from all other users; they do not appear on user selection lists.
