3 General Information MYOB Advanced demonstration systems are available either in the hosted MYOB environment or as a locally installed instance for use by certified partners. The demo system can be setup to use any edition desired (as part of the provisioning request or locally using MAKs) and includes a number of licences for each user type. The current demo environment is called RapidByte Inc. Three variations of this environment are available: DemoAU Demonstration database with AU-specific data. DemoNZ Demonstration database with NZ-specific data. Demo Demonstration database with US-specific data. This guide contains detailed, step-by-step guides for completing various administrative tasks in the demo environment. Note: MYOB Advanced demonstration environments are licenced for presentation only and are not licenced to be used for any part of the implementation. Creating New Company Files In a Local Environment New company files can be created using the MYOB Advanced Config utility and performing application maintenance. Using this method will copy the default Admin user login and password to the newly created company file. See the On-premise Installation guide for more information. 4 In a Hosted Environment Creating the Company In the hosting environment, new company files must be created by a full licenced user of the site. To create the new company: 1. Log in to an existing company file as a full licenced user. 2. Open System > Management > Manage > Companies (SM ). 3. Add a new company ( ), give it a login company alias (this appears in the drop down of the login screen; it is not necessarily the actual legal entity name). 4. Save your new company ( ). Note: Once the operation completes successfully the new company file will be available from login. MYOB Advanced automatically copies across the logged in user name, password and access rights. Setting up the New Company as a Demo Complete the following steps to setup the new company as a demo company. 1. Log in to an existing demo company file on the same site, as a full licenced user. 2. Open System > Management > Manage > Companies (SM ). 3. Click the Copy Company button to copy this company contents to the newly created blank company file, or to reset an existing company. 4. Select the destination company and confirm your actions: Note: Once the operation is complete, logging in to the destination company will prompt the user to enable/disable the desired features of the new company. 5 Alternatively, you may choose to restore a snapshot from another system and use this instead. Switching to Different Editions In a Local Environment To switch between editions for demo purposes, follow the below instructions. 1. Navigate to the Licence Maintenance form (SM ). 2. Delete the current licence. 3. Enter a MAK licence code for the desired edition. 4. Log out and back in. 5. Update the desired features in the Enable / Disable Features form (CS ). In a Hosted Environment This is not currently available; however, configuration of user security roles could achieve this requirement. Logging in to a Demo System After installing a demonstration system, log in with the following details: MYOB Advanced 1.00.xxxx Username: admin Password: MYOB1234 MYOB Advanced xxxx Username: admin Password: setup A user with the Full User licence type is also available in demonstration systems. Log in as this user with the following details: MYOB Advanced 1.00.xxxx Username: andrews Password: MYOB1234 MYOB Advanced xxxx Username: andrews Password: setup Note: A valid licence is required to log in with the Full User user accounts.
