Review this information before setting up SecurePlatform 2.6 for NGX R65. Warning - HFA1 and HFA2 for NGX R65 cannot be installed on this release. SecurePlatform 2.6 for NGX R65 contains all security fixes from these HFAs. 2 Introduction Introduction SecurePlatform 2.6 for NGX R65 is an enhanced version of the SecurePlatform, based on version NGX R65. SecurePlatform 2.6 for NGX R65 expands hardware support. See Supported Hardware on page 3 for details. This document includes only information unique to version 2.6 for NGX R65. The information in the NGX R65 Release Notes is applicable to version 2.6 for NGX R65 as well, except where noted otherwise in this document. SecurePlatform 2.6 for NGX R65 Release Notes. 3 Supported Hardware Supported Hardware SecurePlatform 2.6 for NGX R65 supports all hardware supported in NGX R65, and adds support for the hardware listed below. For details regarding SecurePlatform on specific hardware platforms, see the NGX R65 Release Notes, and go to Sun Fire x4100 M2 Sun Fire x4200 M2 HP ProLiant DL380 G5 series with HP NC364T Network Adapter HP ProLiant DL360 G5 series with HP NC364T Network Adapter HP ProLiant DL585 G2 HP ProLiant BL460c HP ProLiant BL480c IBM xseries 3250 with Intel Pro/1000 PT Quad Port Network Adapter Intel 10 Gigabit XF SR Dual Port Server Adapter Intel S7000FC4UR (4 Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors, total of 16 cores) The following hardware is NOT supported: Intel Pro/1000 PF (Fiber) is not supported in this release. It will be supported in a future release. IBM xseries x300 server is supported only after performing the instructions in sk VPN-1 Accelerator Cards II, III, and IV are not supported in this release. They will be supported with new drivers in the future. Sun servers onboard nvidia network adapters are not recommended for use because of stability and performance issues. On SuperMicro platforms, before installing 2.6 for NGX R65, disable Emulated IRQ in the BIOS. Otherwise, PCIe devices may not work properly. 5 Known Issues Known Issues This section contains clarifications and limitations for 2.6 for NGX R65. For further information regarding Known Issues from previous Check Point releases, see the NGX R65 Release Notes, located at 1. The patch add command is not supported with the following options: tftp, scp, <localpath>. The patch add command is supported with the CD option. 2. When upgrading a standalone deployment from version NG R55 to the current version, the installation wizard prompts to start Check Point services immediately afer completing the upgrade. However, it is necessary to first reboot the computer. 3. HFA1 and HFA2 for NGX R65 cannot be installed on this release. SecurePlatform 2.6 for NGX R65 contains all security fixes from these HFAs.
