3 New Features in MetaManager 3.3 This document describes the new features and cumulative bug fixes for MetaManager 3.3 release. General Integration with BSP Software s Integrated Version Control. Fixed compatibility issues running certain older extended modules against newer versions of MetaManager. Added feature to perform security searches within namespaces. Fixed issues with Unicode characters. Meta Editor: Fixed errors when supplying localized values for the first time. Fixed issues when errors occur during Save operation. Backup / Restore / Deploy: Fixed intermittent bug when adding backup items to the grid. It was trying to set up the image on a row that had not yet rendered. Improved performance and memory usage when loading large archives for restore. Added caching to archive loading, which must be enabled in the options window, performance tab. Edit capabilities on mmx files including a list of search paths. This allows the items included in the archive to be dynamically loaded. Fixed issue with 'set owner to current' option in Restore when overwriting an existing object. Added logic to not restore the package level capabilities in Cognos 8.4 when restoring Restore Security is not selected. Added capability to use search criteria for dynamic backups. Added feature to use search criteria in command line executions. Updater Modules: (Report Validator, Find / Replace, Template Blasters & Screen Tip Generator) Fixed errors when using fix report with invalid packages. Content Store Documenter: Added support for documenting datasource connection strings when datasources are selected BSP Software LLC 3/5

4 When documenting security, objects roles were not being documented recursively. Added support for Event Studio objects. Additional exception logging for debugging. Fixed issue documenting memberships with the TOR workaround for corrupt namespaces enabled. Fixed issue when creating xml output for the User Access Rights Utility. It was using the formatted path rather than the searchpath the utility needs to generate its output. Fixed error when downloading membership information for an item the user does not have access to. Parse split ranges for parameters correctly. Performance enhancements for both server and client. Added option to expand membership (recursively) and access rights to include implicit security. Added feature to create User Access Rights datasource files. When documenting membership and access rights, by selecting the expand memberships and/or the expand access rights options implicit security will be included along with the explicit security. In addition to memberships assigned directly to the user, it will also include memberships granted through other groups and roles. Object Editor: Added the ability to change the retention of a report to a specified duration. Added the ability to change the owner of reports. Model Documenter: Added the option to export to Excel in List and / or tabular format. Save selected attributes and locales when switching models. Added the ability to save the configuration settings to a mmx file. Report Documenter: Handle reports that have no owner. Fixed issue with containers cutting off. Security Editor: Added the ability to export groups and role information for namespaces, and membership information for groups and roles. Added New Folder, Group & Role menu items to the Portal Tree in the Cognos Namespace. Fixed update issues with Security Editor s assign memberships process. Fixed an issue in Security Editor when appending members to a group that had no members BSP Software LLC 4/5

5 Bulk Importing Groups in Security Editor failed when the name contains an ampersand. If Exporting Groups and Roles fails on any objects, the export will continue and show the user which objects failed when the export is complete. Fixed issue with Security object column wrapping.
