The course includes practical exercises to provide experience of creating ArchiMate models. 4 The TOGAF Standard TOGAF, an Open Group Standard, is a proven enterprise architecture methodology and framework used by the world s leading organizations to improve business efficiency. The TOGAF standard is developed and maintained by The Open Group Architecture Forum. The first version was published in TOGAF 9.1 is the current version. 9 Practical Exercises Four exercises are available from The Open Group for use with Accredited Training Courses only Each exercise is based on the ArchiMate 2.0 Specification and the ArchiSurance Case Study A candidate shall complete at least one complete exercise during an Accredited Training Course After completion of the exercise the trainer shall explain a solution for the exercise as part of the course Reserved. 17 Practical Exercises (Continued) An Accredited Training Course shall also include a complete walkthrough of at least one other of the practical exercises An Accredited Training Course may also include additional practical exercises, either The Open Group provided exercises or their own Reserved. 18 Reserved. 9

10 Practical Exercises - Assessment The aim of the exercises is to ensure that at the completion of an Accredited Training Course that a candidate has the ability to apply ArchiMate in a practical modeling situation The supervisor will assess each candidate for this ability Only candidates who have been assessed as satisfactorily completing the practical exercises shall be entered for the ArchiMate examination Reserved. 19 Examination Languages The Open Group examinations for ArchiMate are available only in English at the start of the Program. Candidates taking the examination in a language other than their first language can take the ESL version of the examination, which includes an extra time allowance, and are permitted to use a dictionary. 11 Certification Duration ArchiMate Certification does not expire. There are no re-certification or renewal requirements. From time to time The Open Group may introduce new versions of the ArchiMate Specification. Certified persons are encouraged to learn about the new version, and to certify again to the new version.
