3 UX/UI Improvements

4 View cube and general toolbar The new interactive view cube is now always accessible directly on the scene. Just click on it, and switch to the desired view Cube sides are linked to the standard 2D views Cube corners are linked to the standard trimetric views When in 2D view, easily switch between views via the arrows located around the cube Option to lock the view cube rotation via the Settings dialog All most used view and marking tools are now easily accessible in the general toolbar

5 Settings Define the visualization parameters of the grid and the support via the Settings dialog Customize the default format used to save projects

6 Performance improvements Performance has been improved for several features, resulting in a smoother user experience Selection of points, lines, triangles, etc. (e.g. during measurements or part points translation - marking features are not affected) Parts translation and rotation Undo/redo saving and loading, which results in general performance improvements

8 Fillet Optimize the design of your parts by rounding parts edges Select a single edge or an entire contour in one click Define the resulting surface smoothness via the tolerance parameter Remove fragile sharp edges from your parts by applying fillets with a small radius

9 Cut or punch: lap joint cut Create a one-step cut on multiple areas of a section Choose Two points option and select multiple points pairs on the section contours Define a separate clearance on the back side of the cut and get full control over the assembly phase

10 Boolean Indicate parts directly from the scene and manage them via the lists Subtract multiple parts at the same time Use the clip operation to create pins or fitted parts: a subtract and an intersect operation are performed in one step

11 Honeycomb structures Get full control over the structure position to improve the part quality Translate it horizontally and/or vertically Rotate it along the defined infill direction Easily align the view with the infill direction for a better understanding of the transformations Preview the structure to cut down the amount of iterations Generate a self-supporting structure* to avoid support placement and save time during the post-processing phase * Patent pending

12 Tools enhancements Hollow: shell tab Apply triangle reduction only to the newly created surfaces, keeping the original mesh unchanged Perforator Select and edit multiple perforation previews at the same time Label Correctly align a label text with multiple lines to the area boundaries

13 Label tags Design and save label tags containing label planning information to the tags library Apply these tags in future projects, and easily edit the label content accordingly to the specific project Add label tags to a part with label planning, without the need to remove it or apply it as STL

14 Label: Data matrix* tab Store part information into a data matrix and scan the printed part for fast and easy tracking Input text/numbers/symbols in Magics and convert them to a data matrix * Patent pending

15 Positioning tools Automatic placement Z-position is kept for parts placed outside of the platform Parts are positioned next to each other when placed outside of the platform Already placed parts are now taken into account when auto-placing upon import Shape sorter* Automatically orient similar parts and place them both on horizontal and vertical axis *Sinter Module or Support Generation Module license is required

17 Reporting enhancements New tags are added to the Materialise fields add-in: Maximum build height is added to the Platform fields category Support volume is added to both the Platform fields and Part fields category When multi -section is enabled in Magics, the tag Part image will export the section of the part

18 PMI compatibility* (Beta) Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) dimensions and annotations added to a part in a CAD software can now be imported and saved in a Magics project View all PMI on the part at once Select standard or customized views and visualize only PMI linked to the selected view *Only with NX (Unigraphics) or Solidworks Import Module
