For Triton Connect updates on all systems, please verify a cassette quantity has been entered at the ATM on the last cassette close. If the cassette quantity is zero, then the ATM will go out of service with error code 244 (No Document Count) after the update has been installed. This value can be viewed in Triton Connect in Terminal Manager > Terminal Data > View Terminal Parameters > View Parameters > Cassette State > Cash Loaded. The cassette quantity can only be set at the ATM and cannot be changed remotely from Triton Connect! Triton Systems Page 3 of 22 June 6, 2012
2. For Triton Connect updates on XScale systems, please verify the ATM has enough free flash space. The XScale update load file requires about 5.5MB of free flash. The free flash space can be viewed in Triton Connect in Terminal Manager > Terminal Data > View Terminal Parameters > View Parameters > Control > Extended Parameters > Ad Data > Disk/Flash Space. To free space, delete any unused files listed in the Terminal Data Directory of this same page at Triton Connect. External Dependencies The following feature requires Triton Connect Version 5.6 or greater: File transfer interruption recovery Send range of journals to Triton Connect Triton Systems Page 4 of 22 June 6, 2012
Description of Changes Management Favorites A favorites menu will be added as the starting point of Management Functions after login. This menu will be enabled by default. The menu and menu settings will be unique to each management user. Button 0 will always point to the main menu and remain non-configurable. Initially, the favorites menu will have placeholder items instructing the user to enter a favorite for each button. Pressing a button while the text reads Put Favorite Choice Here will take the user directly to the configuration of that button (See Favorites Configuration). The following screenshot shows a configured favorites menu with a few unused buttons: Triton Systems Page 5 of 22 June 6, 2012
On initial setup, the favorite menu items can be configured directly from the Favorites menu. Once that menu is setup, the menu can be configured through the Favorites Menu Configuration function (Button 0) that will be added to the main menu. Once in the favorites menu configuration, the user has the option to enable/disable the favorites menu (Button 1) or to choose the functions to use for each button (Button 2). Triton Systems Page 6 of 22 June 6, 2012
If the management user disables the favorite menu, the user will be taken straight to the main menu upon login. Note that changes to the enable/disable setting will be applied on the next Management Functions login. If the user presses the Choose Favorites button, they will be taken to the choose favorites menu. Triton Systems Page 7 of 22 June 6, 2012
This menu is a replica of the favorites menu and allows the user to configure or re-configure the favorites. Pressing a button will bring up a list of functions the user can pick from to set for that button. The user will only be able to choose items they have access rights to. Any inaccessible items will not be shown in the list. If the user wants to disable a button, a None option will be available at the end of the list. Triton Systems Page 8 of 22 June 6, 2012
The following is a list of the available functions that any management user may choose for their favorites menu as long as they have access rights to the item. 11 Cassette Denomination Security This software release adds a security feature to ensure the administrator has proper access to the safe and the cassette contains currency before allowing the user to change the cash denomination (multiple amount) value in Management > Terminal Configuration > Cassette Setup > Cassette Parameters > Multiple Amount. Important: If the function Management > Diagnostics > Dispenser > Reset Dispenser to Defaults is performed, please exit and re-enter Management Functions before attempting the denomination change. After selecting option 7 to change the denomination, the selected cassette is unlocked (for dispensers that support locking) and the user is prompted to remove the cassette: After removing the cassette and pressing ENTER on the keypad, the following message is displayed: Triton Systems Page 11 of 22 June 6, 2012
After replacing the cassette and pressing ENTER on the keypad, the user is prompted to change the cassette value: If any of the above operations fail, the dispenser is not operational, or the user presses cancel to abort the process, the following message is displayed and the denomination change is not allowed: A journal entry will also be logged in this case: 8/12/2011 9:13:07 AM Username: Master (00) Change multiple amount failed Triton Systems Page 12 of 22 June 6, 2012
Permission denied Minimize Partial Dispense This software release contains the feature to minimize partial dispenses by tracking the estimated number of bills remaining in the dispenser and not allowing dispenses of more than that amount. IMPORTANT: When configuring the ATM, the ATM administrator must set the correct quantity of bills for each cassette when performing a cash replenishment. If a cassette quantity is not set, the ATM will go out of service with an error code 244: No document count. The cash replenishment must be performed through the Management > Terminal Close Functions > Cassette Close option. Please consult your ATM manual for detailed instructions on the cassette close operation. In the event a customer attempts to withdraw more than the calculated remaining amount, the following screen will be displayed: The above screen can be enabled/disabled by changing the Management > Terminal Configuration > Optional Screens > Minimize Partial Dispenses option. With this screen disabled the ATM will attempt to dispense the full requested amount and then go out of service with an error code 244. Note that partial dispenses can still occur due to a dispense issue other than running out of cash. Triton Systems Page 13 of 22 June 6, 2012
Show Corrective Actions for Terminal Errors If a terminal is in an out of service condition the ATM will display the corrective action information in the Management > Terminal Status > Current Terminal Error report. This information will also be displayed when selecting the Show Error Details button on the right of the Management Functions menu. Note: for XScale ATMs, this button will replace the online help function. Notification of Terminal Warnings Some error conditions at the ATM are classified as Warnings where the terminal does not go out of service. Previously these warnings were only sent to Triton Connect and not visible at the ATM if they occur. A warning will now be displayed on the Management Functions screen at the same location where the terminal errors are displayed when the ATM is in service with no errors. This information will also be listed in the Management > Terminal Status > Current Terminal Error report, regardless if the ATM has another error. Triton Systems Page 14 of 22 June 6, 2012
In order of precedent, the warnings are: 1. Low SPED (EPP) battery 2. Low cash 3. Out of paper 4. Low paper Triton Systems Page 15 of 22 June 6, 2012
Firewall Support (X2 Systems Only) This release contains a network firewall feature for TCP/IP enabled ATMs. The firewall is configured in Management > Diagnostics > Modem/Ethernet > Configure Ethernet Settings. Please check with your network administrator on the proper firewall configuration to use for your ATM network. If enabled, the firewall will run on system startup. Changing any of the options for this feature require a terminal restart through Management > System Parameters > Restart Terminal. The firewall configuration will also be displayed in the configuration summary report. NOTE: This feature is only available in X2 systems with Windows CE Version (in Management > Terminal Status > Configuration Summary) or later. Configuration Summary Changes The configuration summary now includes the following: Startup application versions MEID for TDL Gateway modem Triton Systems Page 16 of 22 June 6, 2012
This information is also sent to Triton Connect (note: requires Triton Connect 5.0 or later). File Transfer Interruption Recovery If a dialup connection to Triton Connect is lost during a file transfer (software update or graphic update), the terminal will call back to the Triton Connect host and resume the file transfer from where the communications were lost. The ATM will attempt to retry for the configured number of attempts in Management > Terminal Configuration > More Options > Triton Connect > Max Retries on the ATM, or Terminal Parameters >Triton Connect Settings > TC Max Retries in Triton Connect. If this setting is zero (default value) then the ATM will not attempt to retry the file transfer. This applies to dialup communications only and requires Triton Connect version 5.6 or later. Send Range of Journals to Triton Connect This release includes a feature for Triton Connect to receive a range of journal records based on a start and end date. Previously, journals would only be sent either by unaudited or last x. Note: using this feature may cause duplicate journal entries in the Triton Connect database if this is used on a terminal where unaudited records are sent to Triton Connect. This feature requires Triton Connect 5.6 or later. Sample Triton Connect screen shots: Triton Systems Page 17 of 22 June 6, 2012
Triton Systems Page 18 of 22 June 6, 2012
Download Keys Failure Description The message box displayed when Management > Key Management > Download Keys is executed now includes a description of the exact failure in the event the function does not succeed. Download Keys/Day Close SSL Failure If SSL is being used and a download key or day close function fails due to an SSL failure, this information will also be displayed in the electronic journal. EPP Serial Number at Triton Connect The terminal will now send the EPP serial number to Triton Connect as part of a Get Parameters command. Note that this requires Triton Connect version 5.0 or later. Enable/Disable Journal Upload An option has been added to Management > Terminal Configuration > General Parameters to enable/disable the journal upload function. Previously this feature could only be changed by the host processor. NOTE: Check with your host processor before enabling this option! Triton Systems Page 19 of 22 June 6, 2012
Automatically enable shutter for NMD100 For the NMD100 dispenser, this software version will automatically enable the shutter on the dispensers. Previously, if a new shutter was installed that did not have this enabled at the factory, the shutter would not work. Single Note Test Dispense The Management > Diagnostics > Dispenser > Test Dispense function has been modified to only allow a single note test dispense Software Update History A new feature has been added in Management > Terminal Status > Software Update History to display a list of software updates that have been installed on the main board. Terminal ID Verification When entering the terminal ID in Management > Terminal Configuration > General Parameters > Terminal ID, any spaces entered in the terminal ID will be removed. Note that due to this change a space is no longer a valid character in a terminal ID. Please notify your host processor if this causes any issues. Ping Function The function Management > Diagnostics > Modem/Ethernet > Ping has been modified to allow entering a domain name. SSL Certificates The following SSL certificates are included in this release and will not need to be installed separately: GoDaddy VeriSign Thawte Entrust GeoTrust Audio Transactions Available Balance Previously the ATM would only speak the primary account balance sent from the host. This has been changed to also speak the available balance if it is sent from the host. Balance information will be spoken for all transaction types: balance, withdrawal and transfers. Receipts Not Printing in Low Memory For X2 main boards, an issue has been fixed where receipts may not print if the terminal is near low memory condition. Default Transaction Type Note that when using one of the Beginning surcharge screens (displayed before transaction selection), be sure the Management > Terminal Configuration > General Parameters > Default Triton Systems Page 20 of 22 June 6, 2012
Transaction setting is configured to either None or Withdrawal. Otherwise the withdrawal surcharge screen may not be displayed. The default setting for this is None. Modem Communication Time Improvements This release contains a change to speed up the dial-up modem communication time. With this change the modem connection process time could decrease by 1-4 seconds depending on the ATM configuration. Note that instead of seeing modem settings of 7-Even-1 in Management > Diagnostics > Modem/Ethernet > Device Status, the host settings will be set to the following: Byte Size: 8 Parity: None Stop Bits: 1 This is normal and will not affect communications to the host processor.
