2 Upgrade of devices Task definition An upgrade of the machine (with the machine operator) has to be realized SCOUT or PC are not available The customer s staff (maintenance staff) must be able to do the upgrade. Solution: Simplified upgrading by upgrade data The upgrade is not only an update to a higher firmware, but also a change to a defined project, i.e. a project update. Therefore, it is also possible to access to a previous configuration (downgrade). o o o o Create upgrade data: Realization with SCOUT (after making the changes in the project) Upgrade data set (archive) can contain one or several controls or even several projects The upgrade data contain the following data: Firmware (FW) including all firmware components being necessary to operate the according SIMOTION device (i.e. drive FW, CBE FW, TM FW, BIOS, ) Configuration data including all project data being necessary to operate the according SIMOTION device (SIMOTION project. SIMOTION D also contains the drive project of SINAMICS Integrated and the Controller Extension CX32. Technology packages User data (i.e. HTML pages, SSL keys, SIMOTION projects for the data storage on memory card, JAVA programs etc.) Examples of the upgrade media: Even possible without SCOUT via external update program Media: CF/MMC, USB stick, IT Diag CF/MMC: only the upgrade data of the device IT Diag, USB stick: upgrade data for several devices are possible Upgrade: The CPU to be upgraded already requires a FW version of at least V4.1 SP2 CF/MMC: plug in switch on upgrade process is executed. IT Diag: upgrade via existing Ethernet/Internet connection USB stick: the same USB stick can be used to upgrade all controls being stored in the archive. The runtime licenses remain the same for all variants Start via: SIMOTION V4.1 SP2 Version of September 2008 Page 4/39

Simplified upgrading including HMI data An eventually changed project of HMI systems is not included in the upgrade archive of SIMOTION. However, an upgrade of the HMI data is possible as follows: HMI data are changed with the OEM for a new version in connection with the SIMOTION project. The changed HMI project is loaded to the HMI device of the same construction. The data are saved with ProSave. These data are sent to the final customer with the SIMOTION upgrade archive or the storage medium The final customer can load ProSave from the SIEMENS internet and use it. You can find it under: The final customer upgrades SIMOTION with the upgrade archive or the storage medium The final customer upgrades the HMI device with ProSave to the present state of the art. The plant runs with the new version including HMI! 8 3 Commissioning and diagnostics with SCOUT 3.1 Load project from the device Upload in case of missing or not current project Advantage: Easy matching with the control (consistence) Loading additional data With a download, additional data (e.g.sources) can be loaded to the target device. With the compiled programs, the sources are stored in an object-granular way on the target system. Therefore, about 50% more memory is required. These data are required for: - the function "Load to PU" (complete upload to the offline project) - The synchronization with the online objects (object-granular adaptation) - the comparison of the configurations detailed comparisons (e.g. ST source comparison) Upload with existing configuration The project is not online consistent, but is essentially the same as that one on the target device. Execute the upload with load to PU to establish an online consistence. After that, it is possible to search for errors and to load changes to the target device. Upload, but the project is not available on the PU/PC You visit a commissioned plant to realize service works and you do not have an appropriate project on your PC/PU with you. The communication parameters of the PU/PC interface are set so that you can establish a connection to the target device. As the current sources have been stored on the target device, you can continue working with these sources. Proceeding: Generate a new project in the SIMATIC Manager and execute the function load station to PU (Menu target system) to load the hardware project to the project. Now open SCOUT under the loaded device and execute the function Load to PU. By this, the SIMOTION-specific data are loaded to the offline project. SIMOTION V4.1 SP2 Version of September 2008 Page 8/39
Individual upload (object-granular) This project is not online-consistent Adaptation via project comparison (see following chapter) 3.2 Project comparison Possible comparisons: Devices in one common or in different OFFLINE projects OFFLINE device in a project with real (ONLINE) device Selection of the comparison partners: Overview of the project comparison with detailed comparison: SIMOTION V4.1 SP2 Version of September 2008 Page 9/39
Functions: Display of the differences for device, TO, DO, program,. Detailed comparison of source target concerning sources, TOs and DOs Compensation of the differences Note: No detailed comparison for MCC, LAD/FBD and DCC in V4.1 SP2 However, comparison of the characteristics of the objects and compensation is possible. For detailed information, please refer to the documentation project comparison. Advantage: Quick comparison of two projects with display of the differences (where, what exactly) Quick and safe compensation of differences SIMOTION V4.1 SP2 Version of September 2008 Page 10/39
3.3 TO comparison in expert list Comparison functions are also possible in TO expert list. In a TO comparison, TOs offline and online can be compared to each other. Restart of TOs is directly possible via button, now. Selected parameters From version V4.1 on, the expert list contains an own view to the selection of important configuration data and system variables (register selected parameters ). Specifically for the single technology object, this feature gives you an easy access to important configuration data and system variables for the programming and the diagnostics. With V4.1 SP2, the selection of the parameters has been especially adapted to TO. SIMOTION V4.1 SP2 Version of September 2008 Page 11/39
3.4 Online Multi-user Operation - light Several users are working on the same project on a CPU. Technology objects and sources can be loaded separately. With a project comparison and especially with the possibilities of adaptation, the changes of a colleague can be accepted in your own project status. A download will not overwrite these changes of the colleague. 32 7 PROFINET PROFINET version V2.1 and V2.2 With the standardization of PROFINET for the IEC61158, there is a transition from version V2.1 to V2.2. This lead to changes of the contents concerning PROFINET with IRT. When using the RT class IRT in the PROFINET network, the versions V2.1 and V2.2 are not compatible, which means that, when using PROFINET with IRT, it has to be considered with SIMOTION and SINAMICS that any applied device supports either the standard according to V2.1 or to V2.2, provided that they are part of the IRT communication. During the phase of transition, SIMOTION and SINAMICS S120 will support both versions of the standard as follows: The standard scope of supply of SIMOTION, version V4.1. SP 2, contains a firmware variant supporting the PROFINET communication according to PROFINET of standard V2.1. If the PROFINET network shall operate according to V2.2, SIMOTION and SINAMICS S120 have to be adapted accordingly. With SIMOTION, this is realized by a firmware update. Exception is made for SIMOTION C240 PN, which only supports PROFINET according to V2.2. Detailed information and the necessary updates for SIMOTION D425, D435, D445, D410 PN and P350 are included in SIMOTION SCOUT Add-On (DVD1 CD_6). With SINAMICS S120, the PROFINET version is changed to V2.2 by the drive parameters. SIMOTION V4.1 SP2 Version of September 2008 Page 32/39
