2 Universal 3D measuring and evaluation software Fields of Application Hardware independent for manual and CNC-controlled machines PowerINSPECT The User-Friendly All-Round Software PowerINSPECT combines powerful functionality and easy handling. The state-of-the-art measuring and evaluation program is suitable for manual and CNC-controlled measuring machines and scores with full CAD-support. PowerINSPECT supports all common alignment strategies. The user interface itself is very clearly arranged, the software intuitive and easy to learn. Test reports are generated in real time and issued in tabular and graphic form. The measuring results are visible at any time. PowerINSPECT comes as multi-language package making the use of the measuring program in one language and the issuance of the report in another language possible. Uniform User Interface for Manual and CNC-Controlled Machines: PowerINSPECT Manual and PowerINSPECT CNC uses the same user interface to enable the operator to change, for example, between the measuring on a mobile device to the measuring on a CNC-driven measuring machine. Comfortable probe selection and calibration: The measuring probes are simply assembled from the integrated RENISHAW library. The calibration process of CNC-controlled machines is carried out fully automated or, upon request, also semi-automatically. PowerINSPECT integrates the complete range of switching and scanning RENISHAW probes. Furthermore, the user can define own styli. PowerINSPECT is also used in connection with laser scanners. Flexible alignment strategies: With PowerINSPECT the operator can align workpieces quickly and easily. Available procedures: l l Free form alignment l 3-Ball l Alignment by means of data l Best Fit from a point cloud l RPS (laser scanner). The user can determine complex workpieces even under different alignments completely in one measuring program. With mobile workpieces, for example, it is often the task to set different reference points. With PowerINSPECT the operator can define these points in different clamping situations offering the big advantage that all information on the workpiece can be summarized in a single measurement report. 2 STIEFELMAYER Metrology I Measuring Software PowerINSPECT

3 For single-column and duplex applications The Handling Intuitively and user-friendly The measuring program is presented graphically in a tree structure (similar to Explorer). The operator can modify and optimize the measuring sequences by»drag and drop«- functions. That way newly added measuring tasks can be integrated subsequently at any time. Using the simulation program, the operator becomes more confident, is able to optimize program sequences and avoids collisions at the measuring machine. Creation of Measuring Programs Quickly and Safely The creation of measuring programs is either carried out using teach-and-learn mode or by offline programming. For many geometric elements, the user chooses the respective optimal strategy from different probing strategies. Measuring with PowerINSPECT Measuring with and without CAD: PowerINSPECT measures by means of measuring data just as with unknown curves. Geometric and free form surface elements are measured in a combined program. All geometries can be measured, there is a large number of elements to choose from. In CNC-mode a great number of probing strategies are stored. Duplex-measurements with collision detection: A PowerINSPECT license can be used for the control of both machine columns of a duplex machine. The integrated collision forecast avoids possible collisions between both columns. Cross section measurement: Probe paths for cross sections are automatically generated as soon as section plane is produced. Cuts through the component can also be defined freely. The operator can choose any partial area for checking. Several CAD-models at a glance: The measuring program allows the simultaneous charging and the presentation of several CAD-models on the monitor. This makes it possible, for example, to determine mounting dimensions and junctions for assemblies optimally. messtechnik@stiefelmayer.de I 3

4 With excellent CAD-Capability The Test Reports Online visible and optically appealing Appealing and Simply Generated Test Reports: Report: A test report which is visible at any time is generated and updated in real time already during the ongoing measuring. The operator can graphically show the workpiece with a simple click in the test report in order to visualize measured elements and their position. This function also serves to explain, for example, certain clamping situations. The operator can create the measuring report very freely and edit it individually according to his/her requirements. The measuring report can be issued in HTML or in Excel for further processing. SPC: All data can be sent by default to Q-Das, Excel or Lighthouse SPC programs. Alternatively, output is possible as VisualBasic Script. Powerful CAD-capacity: In its basic version PowerINSPECT includes the interfaces to all standard formats: Online help: The comprehensive online help describes the functions of PowerINSPECT in detail and explains those functions using examples. l IGES l VDA-FS2.0 l AUTOCAD DXF und DWG l STEP Many other CAD-interfaces are optionally available. Evaluation: The input of nominal dimensions and tolerances is carried out quickly and comfortably by the GD&T form and position wizard which is integrated in the software. The sophisticated import functionality of PowerINSPECT supports depending on the CAD-system also assemblies and detailed structure trees. This reduces programming costs for measuring sequences considerably. 5 Perfect for quick and accurate inspections Particularly for Design Studios Easy curve digitalization and processing PowerINSPECT in Design Studios PowerINSPECT offers a powerful functionality for digitalizing and modelling tasks. Special functions for the use in design studios are: Digitalizing of curves: The digitalization of points and curves makes it possible to determine unknown contours. The points on the curve can have different parameters, such as start, end or corner points. The user can modify curves subsequently or add or delete points. Curves can have gaps which can then be digitalized using another probe position. Already digitalized curves can also be processed subsequently. For that purpose, there is a graphical interaction with curve and points list. CAD-export: Characteristics measured in PowerINSPECT can be exported to be used in the CAD-system. Digitalized curves can be issued as points, curves or series of curves. Processing of curves: Curves from CAD-files can be imported as»digitalized curves«in PowerINSPECT. The curves, for example, can be defined as intersection curves and be transformed or reflected accordingly during the marking-out process. In marking-out mode, the user is graphically lead to the relevant points and can then choose between the individual digitalized curves. Marking-out function: PowerINSPECT offers marking-out functionalities for existing digitalized curves. The required curves and points can be marked out with a scriber and the points scaled, transformed or reflected during the marking-out process. Digitalizing of curves: PowerINSPECT draws up a point for each coordinate and connects them to a series of curves. Guided mirror function: When reflecting points on a curve, PowerINSPECT indicates on the second page exactly to the user when the respective target points are reached. After that, the integrated counter automatically jumps to the next point on the curve to be controlled. By that, the user is able to mark-out the reflected curve very quickly and comfortably.
