4 System requirements Interfaces to the SAP application server The communication between the 'CT-BW Analyzer&Docu' and the application server is exclusively based on certified standard interfaces of the company SAP AG, Walldorf. Integrity of used operating system The 'CT-BW Analyzer&Docu' does not make direct or indirect changes to the PC operating system or to the application server. Software requirements Operating system: Windows NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP / Windows 7/8 SAP system, application server: SAP R/3 3.x to 4.7 (R/3 Enterprise), mysap ERP, SAP Netweaver 6.10 to 7.40, SAP APO, SAP BW, mysap CRM, SAP XI, as well as all further components which are based on SAP Netweaver 6.x. Activated profile parameter 'sapgui/user_scripting' (see mysap Marketplace: SAP Note ). A detailed tutorial can be found in our help file (CT-BW Analyzer&Docu -> Installation guide -> Notes for administrators). The correct installation of SAP GUI Scripting is described in the SAP GUI Scripting Security Guide (Release 6.20 / 6.40). General security aspects are also mentioned here (e.g. Chapter 7 'Security Q&A'). The guide can be downloaded at: SAP GUI for Windows : Current release from (Nov. 2002) on [more] Standard interfaces: 'BC-MID-RFC' (SAP RFC) and 'BC-FES-SCR' (SAP GUI Scripting) installed during the SAP GUI standard installation. During the installation an authorization key for the 'CT-BW Analyzer & Docu' has to be entered. The 'CT-BW Analyzer & Docu' was designed as a 'Single Session Program' and under these conditions successfully tested. 5 Client installation 1. Please start the installation program "CT-BW Analyzer&Docu_e.exe". You will get the following start dialog: 2. 6 3. License agreements Please read the license agreements. By clicking the button "Accept license" the installation is continued. 4. Operation mode The CT-BW Analyzer&Docu has got two different operation modes. Local mode (exception) The 'local mode' doesn't require any new work reports and function modules on the application server but the functionality is limited (e.g. no double click navigation). If your system does not allow the installation of external work reports, the 'local mode' offers an alternative to the 'extended mode'. Extended mode (normal case) The 'Extended mode' offers the full functionality of the CT-BW Analyzer&Docu. Prerequisite for this is the installation of some work reports and function modules on the application server (done in 3 minutes). The 'extended mode' is the default setting Jan 2015 page 6

7 5. SAP GUI Scripting messages: This function ensures that SAP GUI scripting actions are detected and the user is notified. If a script does carry out a GUI action (e.g. in background), a corresponding message is displayed. 6. Choose Local Data Path The working files of the CT-BW Analyzer&Docu are saved according to Windows guidelines. If you want to use an alternate path, e.g. due to memory size limitations in the user profile, you can specify a different path. Jan 2015 page 7

8 7. Select the keyboard layout: The keyboard layout of the CT-BW Analyzer&Docu can be adjusted individually. Please select one of the enclosed keyboard layouts here. You can change this layout later via the menu: System - > Options. 8. Installation directory on the client PC Please select the installation directory (where the files should be copied). 9 9. Select the program group You can choose a common program group (can be seen by other PC users) or a separate, personal program group. 10. Ready to Install Unpacking the compressed files. If you press the button "Next", the installation is started. This process should take about 3 minutes. Jan 2015 page 9

10 11. Installation completed If the client installation was successful, please press the "Next " button to close the installation dialog. 12. Program start After the successful installation the program group 'CT-BW Analyzer&Docu' within the group 'CT-Software [Add-On Modules for SAP ]'is shown. Jan 2015 page 10

11 Installation number and authorization key 1. Authorization dialog The 'CT-BW Analyzer&Docu' has to be activated once via an authorization key. At first please enter your SAP User ID (only this user can logon to the 'CT-BW Analyzer & Docu'). 2. Please mark the installation number and copy it into the clipboard. Then please press the button 'Goto page This will lead you to the following (secure) internet form. Jan 2015 page 11

12 3. The authorization form Please paste the installation number from the clipboard into the respective input field. The fields marked with a red 'x' must also be filled out. Depending on the time of the request you will get the authorization key via within the next 12 hours. Jan 2015 page 12

Enter the authorization key After you have received the , copy the authorization key into the clipboard and paste it in the respective input field (authorization key): Finally please press the "Ok" button. The software is now ready for use. 5. Choose font If you have finished the authorization, you can choose the default font of this program (which can be later changed): If you have any problems with the authorization process please write us an to We will reply as soon as possible. 14 The 2 kinds of installation: Extended or Local mode You have chosen the installation mode (extended or local mode) during the client installation. 1. Extended mode (normal case) If you have chosen the 'extended mode' all CT-BW Analyzer&Docu features are available. Prerequisite for this mode is the installation of a few work reports and a function module on the application server. The duration of this installation is approximately 3 minutes. 2. Local mode (exception) The 'local mode' doesn't require any new work reports and function modules on the application server but the functionality is limited (e.g. no double click navigation). If your system does not allow the installation of external work reports, the 'local mode' offers an alternative to the 'extended mode'. Jan 2015 page 14

15 The extended mode (CT-Function module and work reports) After the CT-BW Ana lyzer&docu is installed on the client PC, a few work reports and a function module has to be uploaded on the application server. The upload process is carried out automatically. No existing reports or function modules will be overwritten during the installation. 1. Upload work reports and function module The upload is started by this dialog box. Press the button "Goto Server Login". If the following box appears, the SAP GUI scripting interface is not active. In this case please go to the appendix- 1 (Notes for administrators, page 20) 2. Logon for CT-BW Analyzer&Docu Now you have to specify the application server (and client, user name, password and language) so the CT-BW Analyzer&Docu can log on at the application server. 16 3. Extended mode (Step 1 of 3) Now the following dialog is shown: The automatic installation of work reports and function module is carried out by the installation report 'YINST_BAS...'. The installation report will be automatically uploaded on the server. A previous existing report with the same name is not overwritten. Then the report is automatically started, and it creates the work reports and the function module. You can have a look at the installation report by clicking the button 'Display installation report' in step 2 of 3. The complete upload and installation process takes about 3 to 5 minutes. Some notes to the manual installation If you have problems during the automatic installation (e.g. authorization problems), you can alternatively carry out the installation manually. For more information please refer to the manual installation guide. 4. Extended mode (step 2 of 3) Here you can change the names of the CT function module and the work reports. It should generally not necessary to change the default values. By pressing the 'Next' button you start the automatic installation process. Jan 2015 page 16

Extended mode (step 3 of 3) -- check of installation components After completion the installation you can test if the installation was successful by pressing the buttons 'Function module test' and 'Work report test. Number 7.1 = Button "Function module test" The RFC communication with the application server is tested. 18 Appendix 1 Notes only for administrators: SAP GUI Scripting The communication between the SAP application server and the CT-BW Analyzer&Docu is realized with the SAP GUI Scripting interface. Notes only for administrators: SAP GUI Scripting This SAP standard interface is used since 2003 for different GUI applications e.g. ecatt (Extended Computer Aided Test Tool). ecatt can be used to test your SAP business processes (transaction SECATT). The prerequisites to activate SAP GUI Scripting on the application server are described at" --> SAP Support Portal --> SAP Notes Search... note ". If you have regularly installed the SAP software patches on the application server, only a parameter entry within the instance profile has to be changed. In the 'SAP GUI Scripting Security Guide' (release 6.20/6.40) you will find some notes on general security aspects (e.g. number 7 'Security Q&A'). You can download the Guide under " We would now like to show you some screenshots, how to edit the instance profile of the application server: Check if SAP GUI scripting is already active 1. Start SAP GUI Please start a SAP GUI and press ALT+12 to call the menu "Customize local layout". Select the item "Script Development Tools...". Jan 2015 page 18

19 2. Wizard dialog A wizard dialog popped up. Click the button "Troubleshoot SAP GUI Scripting" and press OK. Notes only for administrators: SAP GUI Scripting No problem found When the scripting is activated the following message occurs "No problem found". You could now start the extended installation mode of the CT-BW Analyzer&Docu (CT-Function module and work reports)... Scripting deactivated on server If the scripting is not activated on the server the following message is shown. The prerequisites to activate SAP GUI Scripting on the application server are described at" --> SAP Support Portal --> SAP Notes Search... note ". If you have regularly installed the SAP software patches on the application server, only a parameter entry within the instance profile has to be changed. Please continue at page 22 (Edit Instance Profile). Jan 2015 page 19

20 Scripting not installed If the scripting was already activated on the server it is also possible that you get the following message "Scripting is not installed". In this case you have to add the scripting component through the SAP Front-End installation on your locale machine. Please check the necessary components during the SAP Front-End installation. As you can see, the wizard allows you to add missing components. Notes only for administrators: SAP GUI Scripting Edit Instance Profile This is short tutorial on how to activate the SAP GUI Scripting interface on the application server (according to the SAP note ) 1. Transaction RZ10 Please call transaction RZ10, select the current profile and push the button "Change". 2. Create parameter Click the button "Parameter" to create a new parameter for the profile. 21 Notes only for administrators: SAP GUI Scripting 3. Parameter name and value Please enter parameter name (sapgui/user_scripting) and parameter value (TRUE, in capital letters). Afterwards press the button "Copy". 4. Exit The parameter was created (see comment '# parameter created'). Now choose Parameter -> Exit to leave the parameter maintenance screen. Jan 2015 page 21

22 5. New parameter is displayed The new parameter is displayed in the profile (see line 1). Please save the modifications by pressing the button "Copy". Notes only for administrators: SAP GUI Scripting 6. Exit Profile Maintenance Now please exit the profile maintenance screen (menu: Profile -> Exit). 7. Save Profile At the end press the "Save" button to save the profile. Jan 2015 page 22

23 8. Activate Profile The system now asks if the profile should be activated. Please click on the button "Yes". Notes only for administrators: SAP GUI Scripting 9. Confirming dialog box The profile is now successfully changed. You can confirm the following 2 dialog boxes with the "enter key". To activate the new profile you have to either restart the application server (as stated above) or you can use the transaction RZ11 to activate the parameter sapgui/user_scripting manually without restarting the application server (described in the following). 24 Activate New Profile Parameter After the new profile parameter sapgui/user_scripting was created you can now activate the new profile parameter with the transaction RZ11. Advantage: The application server does not have to be restarted. 1. Transaction RZ11 Notes only for administrators: SAP GUI Scripting Please call transaction RZ11, enter profile parameters "sapgui/user_scripting" and click the button "Display" 2. Change parameter value Please click on the button "Change value" 3. Enter new value Please, enter "TRUE" in the field "New value" and click on the "Disk" button. Jan 2015 page 24

25 4. Active profile parameter The parameter was successfully changed (see status line). Now SAP GUI Scripting should be activated on the server. Notes only for administrators: SAP GUI Scripting Note Please close all open SAP GUI windows after changing the profile parameters (sapgui/user_scripting). Only after a re-start the new parameters are taken over in the SAP GUI. Jan 2015 page 25

26 Appendix 2 Manual installation of work reports and function module After the client installation of the CT-BW Analyzer&Docu, a few Work reports (ABAP Coding) and a function module have to be uploaded to the application server. The standard way of doing this is carrying out the automatic installation. But if you have problems during the automatic installation (e.g. authorization problems), you can alternatively carry out the installation manually, which is described now. 1. Select manual installation (step 1 of 3) To start the manual installation please activate the check box "Manual installation" on the first installation page of the extended mode. 2. Upload on the application server (step 2 of 3) After pressing the next button the following dialog will appear. Please follow the instructions given by this dialog box (4 steps have to be carried out). Jan 2015 page 26

34 3. Test if manual installation was successful (step 3 of 3) The installation report creates all necessary work reports and the function module on the application server. Please check the generated report list (..SUCCESS..). 3.1 Button "Function module test" By clicking on the button "Function module test", the installed function module is called via RFC.
