4 About EsyMP Multi PC Projection This chpter introduces the meeting styles you cn use with EsyMP Multi PC Projection, nd explins how to instll the softwre.

5 Meeting Styles Proposed by EsyMP Multi PC Projection 5 By using EsyMP Multi PC Projection, you cn use the projectors to hold interctive meetings. You cn connect up to 16 computers to one projector vi network. You cn then select up to four of these connected computers nd project their screens. Holding Meetings Using Multiple Imges s "Project Screens" p.22 into the projection re. Mking these chnges llows presenters to clerly express their opinions long with the imges. 6 Instlling the Softwre 6 You cn find EsyMP Multi PC Projection on the EPSON Projector Softwre CD-ROM. Instll the softwre on the computer you re using. Softwre Requirements EsyMP Multi PC Projection runs on computers tht meet the following requirements. If the instller does not strt utomticlly, open the CD-ROM drive from My Computer (or Computer), nd then doubleclick InstllNvi.

14 Prepring to Connect 14 Prepring Your Projector Follow the steps below to put the projector into connection stndby sttus. When connecting vi wired LAN, check tht the projector is connected to the network with commercilly vilble network cble. When connecting vi wireless LAN, instll the wireless LAN unit in the projector. b c Turn on your projector. Mke the projector's network settings. When connecting the computer to the projector vi wireless LAN, connect using the Advnced connection mode. You cnnot connect using the Quick connection mode. See the following mnul for more detils on network settings. s User's Guide Chnge the projector's input source to LAN. 15 Connecting to the Projectors 15 This section explins how to serch for nd connect to the projectors on the network. Strting EsyMP Multi PC Projection Strt EsyMP Multi PC Projection using one of the following methods. For Windows b c Click Strt, nd then select All Progrms. Select EPSON Projector, nd then EsyMP Multi PC Projection. Click EsyMP Multi PC Projection Ver. x.xx. EsyMP Multi PC Projection strts, nd the serch screen is displyed. For Mc OS b Open the Applictions folder, nd then double-click the EsyMP Multi PC Projection folder. Double-click EsyMP Multi PC Projection. EsyMP Multi PC Projection strts, nd the serch screen is displyed. When strting from shortcut When you hve creted shortcut, double-click the shortcut file (.pme) to strt EsyMP Multi PC Projection. 16 Connecting to the Projectors 16 Using the Serch Screen When you strt EsyMP Multi PC Projection, the following serch screen is displyed. You cn connect to the projector. Busy Avilble. Although other computers re connected to the projector, you cn lso connect t the sme time.

You cn connect to group of multiple projectors projecting the sme imge (mirroring). s "Connecting to Multiple Projectors (Mirroring)" p.19 b Click Automtic serch. Currently in use by nother ppliction Not vilble. The projector is displying the network configurtion screen, or the projector is being used by other projector softwre. Serching Not vilble. A Mnul serch or Profile serch is lredy being used to serch for the projector. Not found. Not vilble. The specified projector could not be found using Mnul serch or Profile serch. K L Unsupported Projectors Refresh Updtes informtion in the Projector List. Not vilble. The projector is not comptible with EsyMP Multi PC Projection. Mnul serch box When using Mnul serch, enter the projector's IP ddress or the projector nme. Click the Serch button to serch for the specified projector. Serching for nd Connecting to the Projectors You cn serch for projectors on the network using one of the following methods. Automtic serch Strt EsyMP Multi PC Projection. s "Strting EsyMP Multi PC Projection" p.15 c The EsyMP Multi PC Projection serches for projectors on the network. When you click Refresh, the ltest informtion is displyed. Select the projectors you wnt to connect to from the list displyed, nd then click Join. The projection control screen is displyed. s "Using the Projection Control Screen" p.22 When projector keyword hs been set, the keyword entry screen is displyed when you connect to the projector. Enter the keyword, nd then click OK. The projector keyword is displyed on the LAN stndby screen. If user is lredy connected, check the keyword with the connected user.

Enter the IP ddress or the projector nme for the projector you wnt to connect to, nd then click Serch. When Profile serch b c projector keyword hs been set, the keyword entry screen is displyed when you connect to the projector. Enter the keyword, nd then click OK. The projector keyword is displyed on the LAN stndby screen. If user is lredy connected, check the keyword with the connected user. Strt EsyMP Multi PC Projection. s "Strting EsyMP Multi PC Projection" p.15 Click Profile. From the Profile list, double-click the folder or the projector icon for the profile you wnt to use. d The EsyMP Multi PC Projection serches for the specified projector on the network. Select the projectors you wnt to connect to from the list displyed, nd then click Join. The projection control screen is displyed. s "Using the Projection Control Screen" p.22 The EsyMP Multi PC Projection serches for the specified projector on the network.

The projection control screen is displyed. s "Using the Projection Control Screen" p.22 When projector keyword hs been set, the keyword entry screen is displyed when you connect to the projector. Enter the keyword, nd then click OK. The projector keyword is displyed on the LAN stndby screen. If user is lredy connected, check the keyword with the connected user. Connecting to Multiple Projectors (Mirroring) Connecting to multiple projectors nd projecting the sme imge is known s mirroring. You cn perform mirroring with up to four projectors. You cnnot perform mirroring with projectors tht re not comptible with EsyMP Multi PC Projection. b Strt EsyMP Multi PC Projection, nd serch for the projectors. s "Serching for nd Connecting to the Projectors" p.17 Select up to four projectors tht you wnt to connect to from the list displyed, nd then click Join. The projection control screen is displyed. When forming projector mirroring group If you select one projector from group, ll of the projectors in tht group re selected. When you select projector in mirroring group, you cn only select projectors in tht group. When other prticipnts re lredy connected to the projector You cn only select the sme combintion of projectors s the user who connected before you. You cnnot connect to projectors tht re not included in the combintion.

20 Connecting to the Projectors 20 Connecting to Projectors on Different Network By connecting the projectors to computer, you cn project the computer's screen t remote loctions (on different subnets). In Automtic serch, projectors on different subnets re not found becuse serches re only performed in the sme subnet. You cn connect to projectors on different subnet using one of the following methods. Specify either n IP ddress or projector nme nd perform serch. s "Mnul serch" p.18 Perform serch bsed on profile. s "Profile serch" p.18

22 Project Screens 22 Using the Projection Control Screen When you connect to projectors, the following screen is displyed. Your computer is lwys displyed on the left-hnd side of the user's re. You cn connect up to 16 computers to the projector. When you drg nd drop user's icon to the projection re, the computer's screen is projected. The bckground for user's icons tht re currently being projected is white. The defult setting for the user nme is the computer nme. You cn chnge the user nme in Set options. s "User Settings Tb" p.40 Projection re When the bckground color for pnel is white, the computer's screen for the user's icon in tht pnel is projected. If there is no user icon in white pnel, blck screen is projected. By drgging nd dropping the user's icon, you cn chnge the screen being projected nd the position t which the computer's screen is projected. s "Chnging the Presenter" p.23 Trget frme Move the trget frme by clicking on one of the pnels in the projection re. You cn project the computer's screen where the trget frme is positioned when you click one of the chnge projection buttons.

23 Project Screens 23 When you click the projector nme next to Connected Projector Nme, Web Remote is displyed. In Web Remote, you cn mke projector opertions on your computer's screen in the sme wy s using the remote control. See the following mnul for more detils on Web Remote. s User's Guide Chnging the Presenter When chnging the projection screen Drg nd drop n icon in the user's re to the pnel you wnt to project. Chnging the Number of Projected Screens You cn divide the projected imge into mximum of four res. By chnging the number of divisions, you cn project screens from multiple computers t the sme time, or project one computer's screen t full screen. Select the user's icon in the projection re. Move the trget frme. b Click,, or to chnge the number of screen divisions. The selected screen is projected t full screen. You The projected screen is divided in two, nd the selected screen nd the next screen re projected. The projected screen is divided in four, nd the computer's screens in ll four pnels in the projection re re projected. cn lso chnge the number of screen divisions by right-clicking in the projection re. Right-click the icon, nd then select the number of divisions. To finish projecting, drg nd drop the icon from the projection re to the user's re. By right-clicking n icon in the user's re, you cn set the projection position. When chnging the projection position In the projection re, drg nd drop n icon you wnt to move to the trget position.

24 Project Screens 24 When or re selected, you cn chnge the computer's screen being projected by switching the icon being projected (the icon in the white pnel) with n icon not being projected (the icon in the blck pnel). Outputting Audio from the Projector You cn output the computer's udio from the projector when one computer is connected to one projector nd is projecting in full screen.

25 Ending the Meeting 25 When you wnt to end session, use one of the following methods to disconnect from the projectors. When only you disconnect Right-click your icon in the user's re, nd then select Leve. You cn lso disconnect by selecting Leve from the Tool menu. When ending the session Select End Session from the Tool menu. All computers nd projectors prticipting in the session re disconnected.

26 Holding Frequent Meetings with Ese This chpter explins how to sve nd orgnize projector informtion used during meeting llowing you to hold subsequent meetings with ese.

27 Sving Projector Informtion 27 By sving the projector informtion used during the first meeting, you cn prticipte smoothly in subsequent meetings when they re held in the sme environment. You cn sve projector informtion by creting shortcut or registering the informtion to profile. You cn register profile by using one of the following methods. When registering projectors from the List of Connected Projectors If you wnt to register projectors displyed in the List of Connected Projectors to Profile, click Register. Creting Shortcut When creting shortcut, informtion for the selected projectors is sved in the shortcut file. When you strt EsyMP Multi PC Projection from the shortcut, EsyMP Multi PC Projection utomticlly serches for the projectors sved in the shortcut file. When holding regulr meetings in the sme environment, creting shortcut llows you to strt meetings smoothly. You cn use one of the following methods to crete shortcut: Right-click the projector to be sved from the Profile or Projector List, nd then select Crete Shortcut. Select the projector to be sved from the Profile or Projector List, nd then drg nd drop to the loction where you wnt to crete the shortcut. Creting folder shortcut sves informtion for multiple projectors contined in the folder. You cn serch for multiple projectors t the sme time when you strt the progrm. Registering Profile You cn sve informtion for the projectors you hve serched for in profile. When connecting to the sme projectors next time, you cn esily serch for the projectors. b When only registering specific projector If you wnt to register one specific projector to profile, right-click the projector you wnt to register from the projector list, nd then select Add Item to Profile. When registering ll projectors found by the serch Right-click one of the projectors in the projector list, nd then select Add All to Profile. You cn register ll of the projectors displyed in the projector list. Enter the projector nme nd select or crete the folder where you wnt to sve the profile, nd then click OK.

28 Sving Projector Informtion 28 b In the profile list, right-click the folder contining the profile you wnt to shre, nd then select Export. Select where you wnt to sve the profile (.mplist), nd then sve the profile. Importing the shred profile Follow the steps below to import the shred profile to EsyMP Multi PC Projection. b In the profile list, right-click the folder contining the profile you wnt to import, nd then select Import. Select the profile (.mplist), nd then click Open. Click OK to complete the import. To register projector, you cn drg nd drop the projector you wnt to register from the projector list to the Profile list folder. The folder structure cn be six folders deep. You cn lso import profile (.plist) exported using EsyMP Network Projection. However, you cnnot import profile in which the projectors connected using Quick connection mode. Shring Profile You cn shre the creted profile list with other prticipnts. This llows prticipnts joining session for the first time to esily serch for the projectors. Exporting the profile you wnt to shre Follow the steps below to export the registered profile.

29 Troubleshooting This chpter identifies possible problems nd explins how to hndle them.

30 Limittions 30 When projecting computer imges while running EsyMP Multi PC Projection, the following restrictions pply. Supported Resolutions The following computer screen resolutions cn be projected. You cnnot connect to computer with resolution greter thn UXGA. VGA (640x480) SVGA (800x600) XGA (1024x768) SXGA (1280x960) SXGA (1280x1024) SXGA+ (1400x1050) WXGA (1280x768) WXGA (1280x800) WXGA+ (1440x900) UXGA (1600x1200) When using computer screen with unique spect rtio, depending on the resolution of the computer nd the projector, the resolution is incresed or decresed so s not to impir the imge qulity. Depending on the resolution, t times the verticl or horizontl mrgins my be projected in blck. Disply Color The following number of screen colors cn be projected. Number of Connections You cn connect up to four projectors to one computer nd project simultneously. (Multi-screen is not supported.) You cn connect up to 16 computers to one projector t the sme time. Other Limittions If the trnsmission speed of the Wireless LAN is low, the network might be cut off unexpectedly. Audio cn only be trnsferred when connected to one projector nd projecting one computer's screen t full screen. If multiple projectors re connected or if the projected screen is divided, udio cnnot be trnsferred during projection. When videos re plyed bck, they do not ply bck s smoothly s when displyed on the computer. Applictions tht use prt of DirectX functions my not be displyed correctly. (Windows only) Cnnot project full screen MS-DOS prompts. (Windows only) The imge on the computer screen nd the imge projected by the projector my not mtch exctly. When Using Windows Vist/Windows 7 Note the following points when using EsyMP Multi PC Projection with computer running Windows Vist/Windows bit color 32-bit color Windows Mc OS About 32,000 colors (16-bit) About 16.7 million colors (32-bit)

31 Limittions 31 Limittions when projecting from Windows Photo Gllery or Windows Live Photo Gllery Note the following two limittions when lunching Windows Photo Gllery or Windows Live Photo Gllery when EsyMP Multi PC Projection is running. Slide Shows re plyed bck in simple mode when projecting from Windows Photo Gllery or Windows Live Photo Gllery. Becuse the toolbr is not displyed, you cnnot chnge the Theme (effects) while plying slide show, regrdless of the Windows Experience Index rting. You cnnot ply movies. A few minutes fter you connect computer to the projector over network with EsyMP Multi PC Projection, the following messge my be displyed. It is recommended tht you select Keep the current color scheme, nd don't show this messge gin. This selection is enbled until the computer is restrted. Limittions in Windows Aero Note the following two limittions when the window design for your computer is Windows Aero. The lyered window is projected regrdless of the Trnsfer lyered window setting from Set options in EsyMP Multi PC Projection. s "Adjust Performnce Tb" p.41 Other Limittions Cnnot project Windows Medi Center imges t full screen. You cn project in Window disply. If udio stops during plybck when trnsferring udio from the computer to the projector using EsyMP Multi PC Projection, try restrting the ppliction you re using.

32 Solving Problems 32 Cnnot connect to the projector you wnt to use Cnnot connect the projector nd the computer vi wireless LAN Check Is the Wireless LAN unit connected? Is the projector connection mode set to Quick connection mode? For wireless LAN connections, is the wireless LAN setting enbled when the computer is in power sve mode?
