4 Mnul clls pdfpilot Server 2 Pge 4 Overview Instlltion Progrm Strt clls pdfpilot Server 2 clls pdfpilot Server 2 is stnd lone ppliction tht llows to run the clls softwre module pdfpilot CLI 2 in hotfolder environment or btch process. It is vilble on Windows nd Mcintosh pltforms. The clls pdfpilot Server 2 instlltion progrm guides you through the instlltion process. It sets up clls pdfpilot Server 2 on your hrd disc including pdfpilot CLI 2. You cn request the ltest version of clls pdfpilot Server 2 t support@cllssoftwre.com. If you chose to crete desktop icon, you will find the following fter the instlltion is finished: When strting clls pdfpilot Server 2 the job dministrtion dilog is displyed: Activtion In order to use pdfpilot Server 2 you need to hve vlid ctivtion code. From the flyout menu in the upper right corner plese choose "About..." by clls softwre gmbh Schönhuser Allee 6/7 D Berlin Germny info@cllssoftwre.com

5 Mnul clls pdfpilot Server 2 Pge 5 The "About" dilog is opened, where you get version informtion of clls pdfpilot Server 2 nd the instlled module s well s the possibility to ctivte clls pdfpilot Server 2 if not lredy done. Click on the "Activte" button to open the ctivtion dilog nd enter your license informtion in order to request either full or tril ctivtion code. In order to ctivte pdfpilot Server 2 for ll user ccounts of one mchine, the license file cn be moved from the user folder of the user who hs performed the ctivtion to one of the following loctions: Mcintosh: Windows: All pltforms: /Librry/Preferences/clls softwre/ clls pdfpilot CLI 2 <All Users user preferences folder>\ Appliction dt\clls softwre\ clls pdfpilot CLI 2 <clls pdfpilot Server 2 instlltion directory>\cli In the job dministrtion dilog the "Strt" button llows to strt the processing. "Quit" closes clls pdfpilot Server 2. Further options in the job dministrtion dilog re "New" to set up new job (see section "Setting up of clls pdfpilot Server 2"), "Edit..." to edit existing jobs, "Duplicte" to crete duplicte of the selected job nd "Delete" to remove the selected job. The Button "Btch..." will crete duplicte of the currently selected job pre-configured for btch processing (see section "Processing mode"). A checkbox in front of ech job nme llows to ctivte nd dectivte job. The hotfolders of dectivted jobs re not wtched during processing. The rrow in the upper right corner opens flyout menu with generl options. 8 Mnul clls pdfpilot Server 2 Pge 8 When you click on "Preferences..." dilog is opened where you cn set up the scn intervl of hotfolders, the mximum number of prllel processed files nd the logging mode. Setting up of clls pdfpilot Server 2 To set up new job click on the "New..." button in the job dministrtion dilog. As soon s the chosen settings nd folders re vlid the "Sve" button is enbled nd you cn sve the new job. "Cncel" borts the job cretion. If you entered this dilog vi the "Btch..." button in the job dministrtion dilog, ll settings will be dopted from the selected job nd the folder setup will be set to the defult btch configurtion (see "Processing mode") by clls softwre gmbh Schönhuser Allee 6/7 D Berlin Germny info@cllssoftwre.com

9 Mnul clls pdfpilot Server 2 Pge 9 The buttons t the bottom will be slightly different: Job nme You cn bort the Btch job, sve nd process it or only process it. Enter unique nme tht helps you identify the purpose of the job. Processing mode In folder You cn either choose to setup job in hotfolder or in btch mode. For both processing modes you cn define "In", "Success", "Processed" nd "Error" folder. The "In" folder must lredy exist for btch mode, but ll other folders will be creted if they re missing. For more detils see "Folder setup". Displys the currently set "In" folder (see "Folder setup").!! On Windows, you cn lso plce files from Office pplictions in the In folder. These will be converted to PDF before processing. Therefore, Microsoft Office 2007 or newer needs to be instlled. If there is no "PDF or XPS" entry under the "File - Sve s" menu, you lso need to instll SveAsPDFndXPS. OpenOffice files cn lso be converted. OpenOffice 3.2 needs to be instlled (stndrd instlltion) in order to do so, nd the setup ssistnt which is opened fter instlltion needs to be closed once. In either cse, pdfpilot 2 needs to be ctivted (see "Activtion") nd the Microsoft.NET Frmework Version 3.5 or newer needs to be instlled.!! On Mcintosh, ll open OpenOffice processes need to be closed before strting the job processing nd OpenOffice needs to be instlled in the defult instlltion directory (/Applictions/OpenOffice.org). "In" folder Defult folder setup (setting the "In" folder vi "Choose...") "Success" folder "Error" folder Btch All files tht re plced in the "In" folder t the strt of the job will be processed, files tht re dded during processing re ignored. All other folders re utomticlly set to the "In" folder nd originl files will be sved nd extended with "_org" suffix within the "In" folder. Anlysis: The originl file will be moved to the "Success" folder, if the nlysis led to no hits. Conversion: The creted output file will be moved to the "Success" folder if there were no errors during conversion. Reports: will get stored here when nlysis led to no hits. Anlysis: The originl file will be moved to the "Error" folder, if the nlysis led to hits. Conversion: If n output file ws creted it will be moved to the "Error" folder if there were ny errors during conversion or if ny correction could not be pplied. Reports: will get stored here when nlysis led to hits. Hotfolder The "In" folder will be scnned permnently nd newly dded files will be ppended to the processing queue. The scn intervll cn be set in the preferences. All other folders re creted s subfolders of the "In" folder nd processing of subfolders is disbled. Anlysis: The originl file will be moved to the "Success" folder, if the nlysis led to no hits. Conversion: The creted output file will be moved to the "Success" folder if there were no errors during conversion. Reports: will get stored here when nlysis led to no hits. Anlysis: The originl file will be moved to the "Error" folder, if the nlysis led to hits. Conversion: If n output file ws creted it will be moved to the "Error" folder if there were ny errors during conversion or if ny correction could not be pplied. Log files tht contin the complete CLI output for every processed file re stored in the "Processed" folders, if logs re not disbled in the preferences. Use sme pth s for "In" folder. Crete subfolder within the "In" folder. "Process subfolders" will be disbled. Choose ny pth from file system. If new file ws creted during the process, the originl PDF will be moved to the "Processed" folder. If one of the other folders is set to the sme folder s the "Processed" folder, originl files will be mrked with n "_org" suffix. Only enbled if the option "Subfolder" is not chosen for ny of the folders. The subfolder structure will be re-creted in the output folders. Hotfolder Originl files will be moved here fter processing, if "Keep originl" is ctivted. Log files tht contin the complete CLI output for every processed file re stored in the "Processed" folders, if logs re not disbled in the preferences. Not vilble. Crete subfolder within the "In" folder. "Process subfolders" will be disbled. Choose ny pth from file system. Originls will be moved to the "Processed" folder if new file ws creted. Execution Mode You cn decide whether the incoming PDF files should only be nlyzed nd if corrections should lwys be executed, even if the file cnnot be converted to PDF/A. Besides tht you cn choose to remove XMP metdt tht is not complint with PDF/A nd fltten trnsprency. Report for Problems vs. Report for Success You cn define different report types for successful or erroneous runs. Currently vilble re: English Germn Jpnese French Spnish Itlin Additionl profile Font embedding You cn lso pick n dditionl profile for your custom checks from your file system. Just select the desired profile for processing from your file system by clicking the "Choose..." button. Profiles cn be creted or dpted with the pdfpilot 2 Plug-In for Acrobt or Stndlone version nd cn contin checks s well s corrections to be executed on the PDF files. Corrections contined in n dditionl profile will not be executed in pdfpilot Server 2. Profiles re stored s.kfp or.kfpx files. If font is not embedded in PDF file tht should be converted to PDF/A pdfpilot Server 2 will serch the system's font directories in order to find the needed font file, which re: Windows: C:\Windows\Fonts Mcintosh: /Users/<user>/Librry/Fonts /Librry/Fonts /System/Librry/Fonts Linux, Solris Sprc, Solris x86, AIX: /usr/lib/x11/fonts /<user home>/.fonts Additionlly the font folder instlled together with pdfpilot Server will be serched. This folder lies in "<clls pdfpilot Server directory>\cli\etc\apdfl\ Resource\Font". Besides tht you cn select your own font folder tht should be scnned for fonts by clicking on "Choose" for "Additionl Font Folder". You cn further decide if font substitution should be performed for missing fonts. Substitute fonts Font substitution cn be used when the originl fonts used in PDF file re not vilble. By defult, the font substitution file pdf.cfg stored in "cli/ etc/fontsubstitution/" provides the bsis for substitution by clls softwre gmbh Schönhuser Allee 6/7 D Berlin Germny info@cllssoftwre.com

SubstituteAll<tb>fontnme<tb>fontnme<tb>fontnme... SubstituteFirst Only the first font of the entry cn be substituted by the following fonts. SubstituteFirst<tb>font to be substituted<tb>fontnme<tb>... Additionl prmeters Processing To offer you the full flexibility of the CLI with pdfpilot Server 2, you cn define your own options in the dditionl prmeter text field. These will be dded to the commnd line cll tht is executed to perform the job ccording to the settings. Detiled informtion bout vilble prmeters cn be found in the clls pdfpilot CLI 2 mnul. After clicking the "Strt" button the progress dilog is opened nd the processing is strted. As soon s clls pdfpilot Server 2 finds PDF file in one of the specified In folders it strts the respective clls module which processes the PDF file. The filelist shows the following informtion: File nme, Progress, Job nme, Sttus, Time nd Filesize of the ctive job by clls softwre gmbh Schönhuser Allee 6/7 D Berlin Germny info@cllssoftwre.com

15 Mnul clls pdfpilot Server 2 Pge 15 Using the "Cler Filelist" button cuses ll entries in the filelist to be removed. The "Sve History..." button llows to crete history file contining ll entries of the filelist. Under sttistics the totl time of processing, the number of processed files nd the verge processing time per file is displyed. The "Stop" button t the bottom right llows to stop the processing. It cn then be restrted or you cn get bck to the job dministrtion dilog using the "Close" button.
