APPLICATION LICENSING This section provides information about general terms related to the application activation. Read this section to learn more about the purpose of the License Agreement, license types, ways of activating the application, and license renewal. IN THIS SECTION About the End User License Agreement About the License About the activation code ABOUT THE END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT The End User License Agreement is a binding agreement between you and Kaspersky Lab ZAO, stipulating the terms on which you may use the application. Read through the terms of the License Agreement carefully before you start using the application. It is deemed that you accept the terms of the License Agreement by confirming that you agree with the License Agreement when installing the application. If you do not accept the terms of the End User License Agreement, you have to abort the installation of the application and refrain from using it. ABOUT THE LICENSE License is a time-limited right to use the application provided to you in accordance with the License Agreement. The license is associated with a unique code for the activation of your copy of Kaspersky Tablet Security. The license includes the right to benefit from the following services: Using the application on one or several devices. The number of devices on which you can use the application is specified in the terms of the License Agreement. Contacting Kaspersky Lab Technical Support for assistance. The benefits of other services that Kaspersky Lab or its partners provide during the license validity term (see section "Service for registered users" on page 11). The scope of services provided and the application's validity period depend on the type of license with which the application was activated. The following license types are available: Trial: free license intended for familiarizing yourself with the application. Trial licenses usually have a short validity period. As soon as the trial license expires, all Kaspersky Tablet Security features are disabled. To continue using the application, you should purchase the commercial license. Commercial: paid license provided when purchasing the application. 17

U S E R G U I D E When the commercial license expires, the application keeps running but with limited functionality. You can still scan the device for viruses and other threats, but only using the databases installed before the license expiration date. To continue using Kaspersky Tablet Security in fully functional mode, you must renew your commercial license. We recommend renewing the license before its expiration to ensure maximum protection of your computer against all security threats. ABOUT THE ACTIVATION CODE Activation code is a code that you receive on purchasing a commercial license to use Kaspersky Tablet Security. This code is required for activation of the application. The activation code is a unique sequence of 20 Latin characters and numbers in the format xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx. Depending on the way of purchasing the application, the following options are available for receiving an activation code: If you purchased the boxed version of Kaspersky Tablet Security, the activation code is specified in the documentation or on the box containing the installation CD. If you purchased Kaspersky Tablet Security at an online store, the activation code is sent to the address that you specified when ordering the product. The license validity period is calculated from the date on which the application is activated. If you purchased a license allowing you to use Kaspersky Tablet Security on several devices, the license validity period is calculated from the date on which the activation code is first used. If you lose or accidentally delete the activation code after activation, send a request to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support from My Kaspersky Account to restore the code (see section "Obtaining technical support via My Kaspersky Account" on page 29). 18

STARTING AND STOPPING THE APPLICATION Kaspersky Tablet Security launches when the operating system starts up and protects your device during the whole session. By default, all the application's components run. You can stop using the application by deleting Kaspersky Tablet Security or by disabling all the application's components. Kaspersky Lab does not recommend disabling all the components of Kaspersky Tablet Security, as in this case the security of your device and personal data will be threatened. 19

U S E R G U I D E SCANNING THE ENTIRE FILE SYSTEM OF THE DEVICE FOR VIRUSES A full scan of the entire device for viruses and other malware helps to protect your personal data and money, as well as detect and eliminate threats on your device (both installed and uninstalled). Most malware targets personal user data stored on the device: it collects personal data of the device owner and all available device information (such as GPS coordinates and mail) and relays them to criminals. It is recommended to scan the device entire file system for viruses at least once after installing the application, to ensure that personal data is protected. To scan the device entire file system for viruses and malware: In the main window of Kaspersky Tablet Security, press Anti-Virus > Scan > Full scan. SCANNING THE DEVICE OPERATIONAL MEMORY, A FOLDER OR A FILE FOR VIRUSES You can scan the device operational memory, a folder or a file for viruses. Scanning the operational memory, for example, allows it to be protected from viruses or malware, which may constantly be running in the background. Scanning a file lets you verify its safety, for example if the file has been downloaded from the Internet. To scan the device operating memory: In the main window of Kaspersky Tablet Security, press Anti-Virus > Scan > Memory scan. To scan a folder or file: 1. In the main window of Kaspersky Tablet Security, press Anti-Virus > Scan > Folder scan. 2. In the window that opens, choose the folder or file that you would like to scan. CONFIGURING AN AUTOMATIC LAUNCH TO SCAN THE ENTIRE DEVICE FOR VIRUSES You can configure the automatic launch of the full scan of the device and create a scan schedule, specifying the launch frequency, day, and time, if necessary. The application will automatically scan the device's entire file system according to the schedule. For a full scan to launch automatically, the device needs to be switched on. To configure automatic launching of a scheduled scan: 1. In the main window of Kaspersky Tablet Security, press Anti-Virus > Settings > Scan > Schedule. 2. Choose the frequency of the automatic launch of the full scan of the device. To do so, select a value for the Schedule setting. 22

D E A L I N G W I T H S T A N D A R D T A S K S 3. It is necessary to choose the day and time at which the scan will be launched. UPDATING THE APPLICATION ANTI-VIRUS DATABASES AND VERSION Kaspersky Tablet Security uses anti-virus databases when searching for malware. The application's anti-virus databases contain descriptions of all currently known malware and methods for their treatment, as well as descriptions of other undesirable malicious objects. For this reason, it is strongly recommended to update the anti-virus databases regularly. If more than 15 days have passed since the last update, the databases are regarded as out of date. Protection will then be less reliable. As well as the anti-virus databases, Kaspersky Tablet Security allows you to update the application version. Application version updates remove vulnerabilities from Kaspersky Tablet Security, add new functions, or improve existing functions. An Internet connection is required to update the application's anti-virus databases and version. To update the application anti-virus databases and version: In the main window of Kaspersky Tablet Security, press Anti-Virus > Update. CONFIGURING SCHEDULED AUTOMATIC UPDATES OF THE APPLICATION ANTI-VIRUS DATABASES AND VERSION You can configure the automatic updates of the application version and Anti-Virus databases (hereafter "update"). You can do so by creating an update schedule, specifying the update frequency, day, and time, if necessary. The application will automatically update its anti-virus databases and version according to the schedule. An Internet connection is required for updates. To automatically update at the chosen time, the device needs to be switched on at that time. To configure a scheduled automatic update: 1. In the main window of Kaspersky Tablet Security, press Anti-Virus > Settings > Update > Schedule. 2. Choose the frequency of the automatic update. To do so, select a value for the Schedule setting. 3. It is necessary to choose the day and time at which the update will be launched. PROTECTING PESONAL DATA FROM PHISHING To protect your personal data from theft on the Internet, you can use Web Protection, which is part of Kaspersky Tablet Security. Web Protection blocks malicious websites, which aim to distribute malicious code, and fake (phishing) websites, which aim to steal your confidential data, such as passwords for online banks, online auctions and payment systems, and gain access to your financial accounts. Web Protection only checks websites in the standard Android browser and does not check them in other browsers. 23

U S E R G U I D E You can launch the standard Android browser from Kaspersky Tablet Security or from your device's application menu. If Web Protection is enabled, it will block fake websites before they are opened. To enable Web Protection: 1. In the main window of Kaspersky Tablet Security, click Web Protection > Settings. 2. Flip the Enable Web Protection switch to enabled. When it is enabled, Web Protection automatically checks which is the default browser. If Web Protection does not support the current default browser, Web Protection prompts you to change it to the standard Android browser. To ensure websites are continuously checked, it is recommended to set the standard Android browser as the default browser. If you do not want to change the current default browser, in order to use personal data on the network safely, launch the standard Android browser. To use personal data on the Internet safely: In the main window of Kaspersky Tablet Security, press Web Protection > Browser. WHAT IS A KASPERSKY ACCOUNT An account lets you use the web portal to remotely lock the device, locate it on a map, wipe data, or secretly take the mugshot of the person who is using your device at the moment. Kaspersky Account is a single account for accessing all Kaspersky Lab services. If you have a My Account registration or an account on the web portal, this means that you already have a Kaspersky Account. You must specify the account during initial configuration of the application. Your address serves as your user name. If you have forgotten your account password when logging into the web portal, you can restore it. ENABLING OR DISABLING THE REMOTE START OF ANTI- THEFT FUNCTIONS ON THE DEVICE Anti-Theft can be launched on the device via the web portal. You can allow or block the remote launching of the Anti-Theft functions on your device. If the Anti-Theft launch function is blocked, then it will not be possible to launch it through the web portal. To allow remote launching of the Anti-Theft functions: 1. In the main window of Kaspersky Tablet Security, click Anti-Theft > Settings. 2. Flip the switch to enabled for the functions for which you want to allow remote launching. To block remote launching of the Anti-Theft functions: 1. In the main window of Kaspersky Tablet Security, click Anti-Theft > Settings. 2. Flip the switch to disabled for the functions for which you want to block remote launching. 24

D E A L I N G W I T H S T A N D A R D T A S K S WHAT TO DO IF THE DEVICE IS LOST OR STOLEN Anti-Theft allows you, through the web portal, to remotely lock your device, to delete information stored on it, or to obtain its location on a map. In addition, Anti-Theft allows a photograph to be taken, imperceptibly, of the person who stole your device, while they are using the device. To remotely launch Anti-Theft features: 1. For Kaspersky Tablet Security to be able to locate your device, it must be connected to the Internet. As soon as an Internet connection is established on your device, Kaspersky Tablet Security will show your device location on a map in the section Results of commands for <name of device>. When Kaspersky Tablet Security locates your device, you will see its coordinates on the web portal and receive them in your mailbox. On the web portal, you can only view the device most recently detected map location. The previous GPS coordinates of the device remain in your mailbox and are removed from the web portal. Remote launching of the Anti-Theft functions is possible if the following conditions are fulfilled: the license has not expired, Kaspersky Tablet Security is set as a Device Administrator, and remote launching of these functions is allowed on the device. TAKING PHOTOS OF THE PERSON WHO IS CURRENTLY USING YOUR DEVICE If your device is lost or stolen, you can remotely take a photograph from the front camera to find out who is currently using your device. This function works if your device is equipped with a front camera. To obtain photographs of the person who is currently using your device: 1. Visit the web portal on a mobile device or computer. 2. Log into the web portal using your account that you used during initial configuration of the application. Use your address as your user name. If you have forgotten your password, you can recover it. 3. Select the tab with the name of the device from which you want to obtain photographs. 4. In the Mugshot section, click the button Take photos. For Kaspersky Tablet Security to be able to take photos remotely, the device must be connected to the Internet. As soon as an Internet connection is established on your device, Kaspersky Tablet Security will secretly take photos using the front camera and send them to the web portal. The photos received will be displayed in the section Results of commands for <name of device> for the Mugshot function. Remote launching of the Anti-Theft functions is possible if the following conditions are fulfilled: the license has not expired, Kaspersky Tablet Security is set as a Device Administrator, and remote launching of these functions is allowed on the device. 26

D E A L I N G W I T H S T A N D A R D T A S K S DELETING PERSONAL DATA FROM THE DEVICE OR FULLY FORMATTING IT If your device is lost or stolen, you can delete data to prevent it falling into the wrong hands. You can delete personal information (for example, contacts, Google user accounts and messages) or all data, including information on the memory card. To remotely wipe the data from the device: 1. Visit the web portal on a mobile device or computer. 2. Log into the web portal using your account that you used during initial configuration of the application. Use your address as your user name. If you have forgotten your password, you can recover it. 3. Select the tab with the name of the device from which you want to delete data. 4. In the Data Wipe section, select the data that you want to delete from the device. To delete personal data (for example, Google account data, contacts and correspondence) and to format the memory card, select Only personal data. To delete all data including data on the memory card and revert the device to factory settings, select All data from your device. After all data has been deleted from the device, the Kaspersky Tablet Security application will be deleted also. The device will no longer be able to execute remote commands. 5. Click the Wipe button. For Kaspersky Tablet Security to be able to delete data remotely, the device must be connected to the Internet. Then, the next time it synchronizes with the web portal, Kaspersky Tablet Security will receive the command and delete the selected data from the device. Remote launching of the Anti-Theft functions is possible if the following conditions are fulfilled: the license has not expired, Kaspersky Tablet Security is set as a Device Administrator, and remote launching of these functions is allowed on the device. ADDING THE DEVICE TO MY ACCOUNT ON THE WEB PORTAL You can manage several devices at the same time through your user account for the web portal. To add the device to your user account, enter your user account details during the initial setup of Kaspersky Tablet Security on the new device. The new device will be associated automatically with your user account. Then, when you enter the web portal, a new tab will appear with the name of the device. VIEWING APPLICATION OPERATION REPORTS Anti-Virus and Web Protection events are logged in reports. 27

U S E R G U I D E Reports are grouped by time of creation. You can choose to display reports for each component separately. Reports can contain up to 50 entries. Once the number of entires exceeds 50, older entries are deleted and replaced by new ones. To view application reports: In the main window of Kaspersky Tablet Security, press > Reports.
