Fall CS1428 Programming Assignment 7 Due Date : November 26 th Sections 3 & 4 Write a C++ program that stores the following data about a soccer player in a structure : Player s Name Player s Number Points scored by the Player. The program should keep an array of 11 of these structures. Each element is for a different player on team. The program must consist of the following functions : 1) The first function shows a table that lists each player s number, player s name, and points scored. 2) The second function must calculate and return the total points earned by the team. 3) The third must return and the name and the number of the player who has earned the most scored points. 4) The last function must sort the stored data in descending order based on pointes scored. Then the function must display sorted records. Sample Run : Team of F C B The Players of the team are : Player Number Player Name Points Scored 7 Cristiano Ronaldo Wayne Rooney Neymar 29 8 Andres Iniesta Robin van Persie Lionel Messi 43 6 Xavi Hernandez Mesut Özil Didier Drogba 35 9 Fernando Torres Kaká 17 Husain Gholoom Lecturer in Computer Science 1
Total Points earned by the team is The Name and the Number of the player who has scored the most points : Name of the Player is : His Number is : 10 Lionel Messi The Sorted Records are Player Number Player Name Points Scored 10 Lionel Messi Mesut Özil Wayne Rooney 37 6 Xavi Hernandez Didier Drogba 35 8 Andres Iniesta 32 7 Cristiano Ronaldo 31 9 Fernando Torres Neymar Robin van Persie Kaká 17 Husain Gholoom - F C B Use the following test data that initialize the array Cristiano Ronaldo 7 31 Wayne Rooney Neymar Andres Iniesta 8 32 Robin van Persie Lionel Messi Xavi Hernandez 6 36 Mesut Ozil Didier Drogba Fernando Torres 9 29 Kaka Husain Gholoom Lecturer in Computer Science 2
Style Guidelines : At the beginning of your program ( and before the #include statement ), include the following : Header comments (file documentation block) should be at the top of each file and should contain: Author / s, Due Date, Assignment Number, Course number and section, Instructor, and a brief description of the purpose of the code in the file. For example : Serial Number : Author : (Your name here!!) Due Date : Programming Assignment Number 7 Fall CS Section Number Instructor: Husain Gholoom. <Brief description of the purpose of the program> Variable names : Must be meaningful. The initial letter should be lowercase, following words should be capitalized, no other caps or punctuation ( i.e. weightinpounds ). Each variable must be declared on a separate line with a descriptive comment. Named constants : Use for most numeric literals. All capitals with underscores ( i.e. TX_STATE_SALES_TAX ) Should occur at top of function, or global (only if necessary) Line length of source code should be no longer than 80 characters (no wrapping of lines). Husain Gholoom Lecturer in Computer Science 3
Indentation : Use 2-4 spaces (but be consistent throughout your program). Indent blocks, within blocks, etc. Use blank lines to separate sections. Comments for variables : All variable definitions should be commented as follows: int gender; integer value for the gender, 1 = Male, 2 = Female, Husain Gholoom Lecturer in Computer Science 4
Rules : 1. Your program must compile and run using the latest version of Code::Blocks IDE. 2. Your program must be documented according the style above. See the website for the sample programming style program. 3. Must use struct, functions ( prototypes and definitions ), arrays of structs, repetitions, and control structures. 4. Not allowed to use global arrays or global variables, or global structures. 5. Not allowed to use the sort library or the swap function that is available in codeblocks. 6. Not allowed to use any other concept that was not covered in the class. 7. You must use the appropriate libraries in writing this program. 8. Must properly format the output by use the appropriate library. See the output below. Note that in the following line : Prepared by Husain Gholoom F C B Replace my first, last name with your own first, last name. 9. You must name your program as : XXXXXX_YYYYYY_F2018_1428_3_PA7.cpp ( for Section number 3 ) XXXXXX_YYYYYY_F2018_1428_4_PA7.cpp ( for Section number 4 ) Where XXXXX is your Last Name and YYYYYY is your First Name. For example, the file name should look something like : Gholoom_Husain_F2018_1428_3_PA7.cpp ( not.cbp ) 10. You must upload your programs no later than the starting of class time on the due date. No late assignments will be accepted. Use TRACS to upload electronic version of your program 11. You must also turn in hard copy of your source code no later than the starting of class time on the due date. should the hard copy consist of more than one page, then, the hard copy must be stapled. if you are unable to turn in a printout during class, you can take the program to the computer science department and hand it to the front desk personal (Comal 211 ) before the deadline. Make sure that the front office stamps the program. Make sure that include the date and time. Finally, make sure that they place the program in my mailbox. DO NOT slide your program under my office door It will NOT be accepted Husain Gholoom Lecturer in Computer Science 5
The following points will be deducted if : Incorrect file format such as uploading.cbp instead of.cpp, missing electronic copy, missing hardcopy, compilation errors, using global variables, using global arrays or using any other concept that was not covered in the class ( - 10 points ) Logical Errors ( at least 1.50 points ) Other ( at least - 1 points ) if any of the following takes a place : Incorrect Output format, Incorrect program file name, Incorrect style such as Missing or incorrect serial number, Missing Header comments, Missing header or footer, Missing program comments or documentations, Using the sort library / swap function, Missing function prototypes, Hard copy not stapled, Hard copy is difficult to read, not following programming style etc. Husain Gholoom Lecturer in Computer Science 6
Note : Your program must contain the following 6 functions :
