1 It is most beneficial to you to write this mock midterm UNDER EXAM CONDITIONS. This means: Complete the midterm in 1.5 hour(s). Work on your own. Keep your notes and textbook closed. Attempt every question. After the time limit, go back over your work with a different colour or on a separate piece of paper and try to do the questions you are unsure of. Record your ideas in the margins to remind yourself of what you were thinking when you take it up at PASS. The purpose of this mock exam is to give you practice answering questions in a timed setting and to help you to gauge which aspects of the course content you know well and which are in need of further development and review. Use this mock exam as a learning tool in preparing for the actual exam. Please note: Come to the PASS workshop with your mock exam complete. During the workshop you can work with other students to review your work. Often, there is not enough time to review the entire exam in the PASS workshop. Decide which questions you most want to review the Facilitator may ask students to vote on which questions they want to discuss in detail. Facilitators do not bring copies of the mock exam to the session. Please print out and complete the exam before you attend. Facilitators do not produce or distribute an answer key for mock exams. Facilitators help students to work together to compare and assess the answers they have. If you are not able to attend the PASS workshop, you can work alone or with others in the class. 2 Technical Instructions: 1. All code required for this test is to be written in C--/C++ a. Pseudo code is not acceptable, e.g. you cannot use words like and and or. b. You must include brackets and semi-colons as per valid C++ syntax. c. You may only use the C--/C++ statements listed in the reference. Note that the only variable type permitted is double (no int variables allowed). d. You do not need to write any of the C++ code from framework.cpp, e.g. #include s, int main(), return 0, etc. 2. 8 QUESTION 4 Create C--/C++ statements that would execute the following instructions, no variable declarations are required. Earthquakes can be classified into categories ranging from minor to great based on their magnitude. A magnitude of 8 or more is considered Great and a magnitude between 3 and 3.9 (inclusive) is considered Minor. If the magnitude is between 5 and 5.9 (inclusive) it is considered Moderate and if it is between 7 and 7.9 (inclusive) it is Major. If the magnitude is between 6 and 6.9 (inclusive) it is Strong and between 4 and 4.9 (inclusive) is Light. Write a single if statement that would output a single statement (words in quotations) declaring what magnitude the variable mag is considered.

9 QUESTION 5 Create a C--/C++ program that will complete the following: Get an input value from the user that is an integer and is greater than zero. If the input value does not satisfy these requirements the user should be prompted to re-enter new input until a valid value is entered. Once a valid input is entered the program should then determine if the value is even or odd. o If the value is even the program should determine the factorial of that number and output the result in a properly formatted output statement. (ex. If the user enters 4 the output would be: The result of 4 factorial is 24.) o If the value is odd the program should output the values from 1 to the value entered with a space after each number. (ex. If the user enters 5 the output would be: ) Your program only needs to process one valid input from the user
