Test Configuration The test configuration interface defines the setup of different test modes, which is the most basic setup for specific test of instrument, mainly including test mode select, port select, mapping and test code pattern select. See Figure 2-1 as follows: Figure 2-1 Test Configuration Interface Six shortcut keys in the lower part of the interface are defined as follows: Set all parameter setups in the interface are valid; Save save up the current setup. As in Figure 2-2 Save Interface, a file name can be selcted for saving up the current configuration. Shineway Technologies, Inc. 8 Figure 2-2 Save Interface
9 Load load a stored configuration file as in Figure 2-3 Configuration File: Figure 2-3 Configuration File Click Load to pop up a stored configuration file, select a file name and confirm. In this case, configuration parameters are the contents of a selected configuration file. Press Set to make the configuration valid. Insert insert error code, overhead and alarm for a test. Start press the current configuration to implement a test. When the test starts, the run key on the upper part of the interface becomes green, and Start key changes to Stop key. Click the stop button to suspend the current test. At the same time, the pointer light Start on the upper part of the interface returns to grey; Exit exit the current interface (test status unchanged), and return to the previous interface Test Mode As in Figure 2-4, the instrument has nine test modes. Parameter Setup Figure 2-13 PDH Through Mode Physical Interface The instrument supports electrical port and optical port. In SDH test mode, physical interface can be selected as optical port- O or electrical port- E while consistent ports are required for receiving or transmission i.e. both O or both E. In PDH test, only electrical port- E is available. For the physical interface setup, see Figure 2-14 as follows: Shineway Technologies, Inc. 12
13 Figure 2-14 Physical Interface Setup Receiving Gain The instrument supports receiving gain at two levels including 0dB and 18dB. See Figure 2-15 as follows: Figure 2-15 Receiving Gain Setup Mapping The mapping and de-mapping modes: E1 (unframed, CCS, CCS/CRC, CAS & CAS/CRC), E3 (unframed/frame), E4 (unframed/frame), C-12 (KLM optional), C-3 (TUG3 optional), C-4. Error Performance Analyzer Error performance analyzer is the second option of the main interface as in Figure 3-1: Figure 3-1 Error Performance Analyzer Interface The error analyzer includes three parts i.e. tests summary, error test result & error performance analyzer. 19 3.1. Tests Summary For tests summary interface, see Figure 3-2 as follows: Figure 3-2 tests summary Start time refers the time of the system when Start shortcut key is clicked on. Duration refers to the continual time keeping after Start time. Click the exit button to stop. Send Pat and Rev Pat are the code sample of PRBS in the Test Configuration interface. Current status is error or alarm indication Error Test Result For error test result interface, see Figure 3-3 as follows: Figure 3-3 Error Test Result Start time refers the time of system when Start shortcut key is clicked on. Duration refers to the continual time keeping after Start time. Click the exit button to stop. Display items include the error code second and ratio of EBIT and EFAS. 23 In the performance analyzer interface in above, click on the Chart function key to display various results in a chart as in Figure 3-11: Figure 3-11 Result Chart In any interface, click on Start shortcut key to start the synchronous counting and operation. Event Record Event record interface including: trace overhead test, regular overhead test, pointer value test, pointer sequence test, error insert test, insert alarm, pointer adjusting test as in Figure Trace Overhead Test Figure 4-1 Event Record Interface Trace overhead test includes HOPOH (J0, J1) & LOPOH (J0, J2). Each part involves Transmit value, Expected value and Receive value. The input value or parameter of Transmit value and Expected value is set up by the Set shortcut key, of which the result influences display select of TCM in LED. Receive value will not be controlled by a shortcut key and receive in real time. The initial interface is HOPOH. 25 4.2. Regular Overhead Test Including HOPOH and LOPOH. See Figure 4-3 as follows: Figure 4-3 Regular Overhead Test The contents include the transmission and receiption of S1, G1, H4, V5, K1, K2, K3, K4 and C2. The Set shortcut key can set up an input value or parameter of Transmit value. Receive value is not controlled by the shortcut key and can receive in real time Pointer Value Test For pointer value test, see Figure 4-4 as follows: Figure 4-4 Pointer Value Test The contents including: Pointer type : AU and TU, with a default value of AU. NDF : ON, OFF, with a default value of OFF, where ON can be inserted only one time. Otherwise, the point may be lost. During a test, OFF can be selected. Setup SS BITS : 10. Transmit value of pointer : scope of setup AU 0-782, TU , TU , with a default value of 128. Shineway Technologies, Inc. 25
26 Receive value of pointer : receive in real time. The Set shortcut key can set up the input value or parameter for Pointer type, NDF, Setup SS BITS and Transmit value of pointer. Receive value of pointer is not controlled by the shortcut key and can receive in real time Pointer Sequences Test For pointer sequences test, see Figure 4-5 as follows: Figure 4-5 Pointer Sequences Test The setup contents of Pointer sequences include: single-step reversed polarity, adding of one pair at fixed period, loss of one at fixed eriod, pair of reversed polarity, single step, burst, 87-3, 87-3 plus, 87-3 minus, periodicity, periodicity plus and periodicity minus, with a default value of single-step reversed polarity. INIT : scope of setup sec, with a minimum step length of 25ms and default value of 60. COOL : scope of setup sec, with a minimum step length of 25ms and default value of 30. T1 : scope of setup sec, with a minimum step length of 25ms, time type of millisecond, sec, minute, hour and default value of 1sec. T2 : scope of setup 0-65sec, with a minimum step length of 1ms, time type of millisecond, sec and default value of 2 millisecond. TADD : scope of setup 0-255, with a default value of1. Pointer type : AU, TU, with a default value of AU. The Set shortcut key can set up all the input values or parameters. Once it is set up, Insert mode changes to the current mode (insert sequence) instead of the original mode with a display on the upper part of the screen. 27 4.5. Error Insert Test For error insert test, see Figure 4-6 as follows: Figure 4-6 Error Insert Test Start time refers to the time of system when the Start shortcut key is clicked on. Duration is continual time keeping after Start time. After the running start, the start button changes to the exit button. Click on the exit button to step the time keeping and running. Insert mode : rate (default parameter) 1.0E-3, 1.0E-4, 1.0E-5, 1.0E-6, 1.0E-7, 1.0E-8, 1.0E-9, with a default value of 1.0E-3. Burst scope of setup , with a default value of Repetitive burst scope of setup , with a default value of Insert error : Line ECOD. Insert mode can be rate, burst and repetitive burst. PDH EFAS, ECRC, REBE. Insert mode is continual, with a default value of EFAS. SDH (default parameter) B1 (the maximum value of burst or repetitive burst is 8000), B2 (the maximum value of burst or repetitive burst is 8000), msrei (the maximum value of burst or repetitive burst is 2000), hpb3 (the maximum value of burst or repetitive burst is 8000), hprei (the maximum value of burst or repetitive burst is 8000), lpb3 (the maximum value of burst or repetitive burst is 8000), lprei (the maximum value of burst or repetitive burst is 2000), lp3rei (the maximum value of burst or repetitive burst is 8000), BIP2 (the maximum value of burst or repetitive burst is 2000). Insert mode can be rate, burst and repetitive burst, with a default value of B1. Pattern EBIT. Insert mode can be rate, burst and repetitive burst. The Set shortcut key can set up all the input values or parameters. Once it is set up, Insert mode changes to the current mode (insert error code) instead of the original mode with a display on the upper part of the screen. 28 4.6. Insert Alarm For insert alarm, see Figure 4-7 as follows: Figure 4-7 Insert Alarm Start time refers to the time of system when the Start shortcut key is clicked on. Duration is continual time keeping after Start time. Click on the exit button to stop. Insert mode : continual. Insert alarm : Line LOS, AIS. PDH LOF, RAI, CRCL, MAIS, CASL, MRAI. SDH (default parameter) EFAS, LOF, OOF, msais, msrdi, auais, hprdi, hpplm, hpuneq, tuais, tulom, lprfi, lprdi, lpplm, lpuneq, tulop, rstim, hptim, lptim, with a default value of EFAS. The Set shortcut key can set up all the input values or parameters. Once it is set up, Insert mode changes to the current mode (insert alarm) instead of the original mode with a display on the upper part of the screen. Then, the Insert shortcut key can implement the insert. 29 Figure 4-8 Pointer Adjusting Test Start time refers to the time of system when the Start shortcut key is clicked on. Duration is continual time keeping after Start time. Click on the Start shortcut key again to stop. Insert mode : repetitive burst, scope of setup AU , TU , TU , with a default value of 500. Pointer event : AU +PJ, AU PJ, AU INV, TU +PJ, TU PJ, TU INV. The Set shortcut key can set up all the input values or parameters. Once it is set up, Insert mode changes to the current mode (insert pointer) instead of the original mode with a display on the upper part of the screen. 30 5. Function Test Function test including: APS test, transparency test, TCM test, RTD test and tributary scan test. See Figure 5-1 as follows: 5.1. APS Test Figure 5-1 Function Test For APS test, eee Figure 5-2 as follows: Figure 5-2 APS Test Trigger : MS-AIS, AU-AIS, TU-AIS, B1, and B2, with a default value of MS-AIS. Switching time : with a unit of sec, real-time reception and display in the interface. The Set shortcut key can set up all the input parameters of Trigger. Test starts immediately once in the menu, with the display of results in Switching time and Status column. Pay attention to the interlocking with Start shortcut key. Shineway Technologies, Inc. 30
31 5.2. Data Path (Transparency) Test For data path test, see Figure 5-3 as follows: Figure 5-3 Transparency Test Trans OH : D1-D3, D4-D12, E1, E2, F1 and None, with a default value of None. Trans Pat : 2E11, 2E15, 2E20 and 2E23, with a default value of 2E11. Rec. OH : D1-D3, D4-D12, E1, E2, F1 and None, with a default value of None. Rec. Pat : 2E11, 2E15, 2E20, and 2E23, with a default value of 2E11. In data transparency test and SDH path test, PRBS insert type in interface setup menu includes an additional None option to realize the interlocking of both interfaces. That is to say, the receiving terminal or/and transmission terminal of both must be None. The last select is applied as the final parameter of inserting PRBS and can be set up by Set key. The Set shortcut key can set up all the input values or parameters TCM Test For TCM test interface, see Figure 5-4 as follows: Shineway Technologies, Inc. 31 Figure 5-4 TCM Test
32 Err Mode : Rate (default parameter) 1.0E-3, 1.0E-4, 1.0E-5, 1.0E-6, 1.0E-7, 1.0E-8 and 1.0E-9, with a default value of 1.0E-3. Outburst scope of setup , with a default value of Repetitive burst scope of setup , with a default value of None. Err Position : LP, HP, with a default value of HP. Err Event : tcrei, tcoei, tciec, with a default value oftcrei. The maximum value of burst or repetitive burst is as follows. Alm Position : LP, HP, with a default value of HP. Alm Event : tcunq, tcltc, tcrdi, tcodi, tctim, tcais, with a default value of oftcunq. Add None into the error code and alarm mode for inserting TCM respectively, and realize the interlocking. The last select is applied as the final parameter for inserting TCM and is set up by Set key. 33 Start time refers to the time of system when the Start shortcut key is clicked on. Duration is continual time keeping after Start time. Click on the Exit shortcut key to stop. Current : indicating the measuring result of current RTD. Offset : scope of setup , with a unit of us, and moreover, Set Offset can be added with the value of Current. Set Offset : add Current to Offset. State : measuring, and measured. Pat : indicating current alarm status of SYNC, AIS, EBIT and SLIP. Test starts once in the menu, with a display of test result in Current and State column. Pay attention to the interlocking with the Start shortcut key Tributary Scan Test For tributary scan test, see Figure 5-6 as follows: Figure 5-6 Tributary Scan Test Tributary scan : 1-63 and *(when the receiving part of Test configuration is E1 or VC12), 1-3 (when the receiving part of Test configuration is E3 or C3). TUG3 : 1-3 and *, TUG2 : 1-7 and *, TU12 : 1-3 and *(when the receiving part of Test configuration is E1 or VC12). Click on the Scan shortcut key to enter the scan result interface directly. Test Result The test result includes alarm test result, error code test result, pointer test result, overhead test result, TCM test result, transparency test result, frequency test result and tributary test result, with the interface as in Figure 6-1. All test result menus have a save function. Click on the Save shortcut key to save up the current test results. Figure 6-1 test result 6.1. In any interface, click on the Start shortcut key to start synchronous counting and operation. Click on Stop button to stop.
