3 introduction The LED Ring has been designed by working closely with photography and video creatives to develop a robust, reliable and versatile unit that meets the exacting high standards demanded in professional studios today, at the same time remaining simple and intuitive to use. In order to obtain the full benefit from your purchase, please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with these operating instructions. Protect from heavy, sharp or hot objects, which may cause damage & replace damaged cables immediately. All servicing must be carried out by a Limelite authorised service centre. 6 power options The LED Ring can be powered by an v 50/60Hz AC power adaptor, or from an external battery (either Anton Bauer or V-Mount). Mains Operation: 1: Ensure the unit is switched off. 2: Connect AC mains supply to the Power Adaptor. 3: Connect the Power Adaptor to the Power Input on the side of the unit. 4: Turn on the LED Ring by using the Power on/off switch on the back of the unit. Battery Operation: 1: Make sure the unit is turned off. 2: Attach the Battery Hub (either Anton Bauer or V-Mount) to the Battery Hub Plate. 3: Attach the battery to the Battery Hub. 4: Connect the battery to the power input on the side of the unit using the supplied D-tap cable. 5: Turn on the LED Ring by using the Power on/off switch on the back of the unit. mounting a battery hub To attach the battery hub to the LED Ring, use the following procedure: Remove the belt-clip from the battery hub by unscrewing the Hex screws using the supplied 4mm allen key. Use the two Hex screws that were removed from the belt clip to attach the battery hub to the Battery Hub Plate using the supplied 4mm allen key. Once the battery hub is in place and securely attached to the LED Ring, connect the battery to the LED Ring by using the supplied D-tap cable LED Ring Start Up

7 operation Camera Mounting: To mount your camera onto the LED Ring s camera riser block, loosen the camera balance locking screw, depress the quick release button and slide the quick release plate backwards to remove it. Position the camera against the two camera stops on the plate and attach the plate to the camera using either the 1/4 or 3/8 camera screw. Slide the quick release plate forwards into the receiver on the camera mounting block (the quick release button will automatically re-engage) and lock it in position by tightening the camera balance locking screw. Camera Positioning: To achieve the best result from the LED Ring it is important to ensure that your camera is correctly positioned in the LED Ring aperture. To select the correct camera height, loosen the two camera height adjustment levers and allow the LED Ring to move up or down until your camera s lens is positioned centrally. Tighten the two camera height adjustment levers to maintain this position. Loosen the rail locking levers and slide the LED Ring forwards or backwards until the front of your lens is level with, or just protrudes the front (LED side) of the aperture - note: if your camera is too far back then the aperture may vignette your image. Tighten the rail locking levers to maintain this position. Light Control: The output of the LED ring can be controlled via the thumb wheel (see item 4, page 4) on the side of the unit. Simply scroll the wheel upwards to increase the light output from the LED Ring, and scroll downwards to decrease the light output. When the LEDs flash, this indicates that they have reached maximum brightness. Turning the thumb wheel further at this point will have no additional effect LED Ring Operation LED Segment Control: Further light control can be obtained via the four LED segments that divide up the main light ring. The four LED segments available are top, bottom, left and right segments. To operate any of the LED segments, use the corresponding LED segment On/Off switches (see item 2, page 4) found on the rear of the unit. Segments can be operated in any combination and can still be dimmed using the thumb wheel as above.

9 warranty 09 - LED Ring Warranty All Limelite products are covered by a two-year warranty against any faulty design, materials and workmanship. If a product does not work on arrival, or up to a maximum period of four weeks from the date of dispatch of the product, it should be returned to the dealer/retail outlet from where it was purchased for exchange (subject to stock availability). If the faulty unit was part of a kit, the dealer/retailer may choose to only replace the unit and not the entire kit. Alternatively the dealer may offer to repair the unit as soon as possible at no charge. If neither an exchange nor repair is possible for the faulty unit, then a full refund may be made. If a warranty fault occurs after the initial four week period (and within the maximum two year warranty period), then the unit should be returned to the dealer, who will arrange to repair the unit as soon as possible, at no charge. This warranty does not apply to consumable items such as flash tubes, modelling lamps, fuses or consumable type batteries. Should a unit be returned at any time within the two year warranty period, and it is judged to have experienced any of the following; failure to follow working instructions correctly, accidental or wilful damage, misuse, alteration or repair by a non-authorised Limelite service/repair centre, then the warranty will be deemed invalid and any repairs required will be payable by the owner. The dealer, in advance of undertaking any work that may be required, should notify the cost of any repairs to the owner. No warranty repairs can be undertaken to any units without proof of purchase. All warranty repairs or returns must be conducted with the dealer from where the product was purchased.
