1 Replacing the illboard Diagnostic Camera (PN SP) The billboard diagnostic camera is a compact camera used to transmit live video streams with high image rates that can be viewed from a remote Internet connection. The diagnostic camera is an ideal tool for viewing the billboard face from locations other than the billboard site. The camera s weatherproof fiberglass housing can withstand extreme weather conditions and temperatures from 22 to 140 F ( 30 to 60 C). The camera consumes only 3 watts of power allowing it to be powered over the Ethernet connection. efore you begin Kit contents Figure 1. Front view of billboard diagnostic camera. 2 Replacing the Camera WRNING! Possible fall hazard. When servicing billboard components, service personnel must use a full body safety harness with lanyard. Connect the lanyard to the billboard head s safety cables; otherwise serious injury or death may occur. To replace the Camera 1. Open the control cabinet. If applicable, remove the control cabinet s padlock. Turn cabinet handle and pull open the control cabinet door. 2. Remove the PoE located on the top shelf of the control cabinet. Disconnect cables connected to the PoE. Remove all tie wraps that secure the PoE power adapter cord. Remove the PoE and power adapter from the control cabinet. PoE injector mounted Top shelf Figure 2. PoE mounted on the top shelf. 3. ttach Velcro to the bottom of the replacement PoE. If applicable, also replace the Velcro on the top shelf. 2 PN REV.

3 4. ttach previously removed cables to the PoE. Plug Ethernet cables into the designated PoE ports. Notice: Do not overtighten the tie wraps. Otherwise damage to cord may occur. Route the power adapter cord along the same pathway as the previous cord and secure with tie wraps. - (LN / Power) C - (PC / Power port) PoE #1 or PoE #2 - (Camera port) Item PoE Component connection PoE #1 LN/Power port connects to one of the router s local port (cable ID #3). PoE port identifications. 5. ttach the PoE to the top shelf. 6. Disconnect the camera.. Remove the silicone (if present) and rubber gasket from the cable connection.. Using a small flat head screwdriver, press the tab on the RJ45 connector. C. Remove the cable. Dislodge the rubber gasket. Pull out Ethernet cable. C Press and hold tab. Figure 4. 4 7. Remove the camera. Use one of the following methods to either remove the camera head (Figure 5) or the entire camera assembly (Figure 6).. Remove and keep the camera hardware.. 5 8. ttach the camera. Use the previously removed hardware and follow the appropriate method to either secure the camera head (Figure 7) or the entire camera assembly (Figure 8). Plug the Ethernet cable into the camera and insert the rubber gasket. Using outdoor rated silicone seal the rubber gasket edges and the cable entry point. 6 10. Using the allen wrench or adjustable wrench, adjust the camera s viewing angle ensuring the camera captures the entire billboard face. Loosen screw to rotate the camera head. Loosen screw to move camera head up and down. Loosen bolts to swivel the mounting bracket and camera assembly. Figure 10. djusting the camera viewing angle. 11. Tighten all hardware that may have been loosened. Verifying camera operation Confirm the camera can be accessed from a remote Internet connection and the entire billboard face can be viewed. 6 PN REV.
