After receiving requests from golfers and hunters to enhance the current model in order to provide even easier operation and clearer viewing, Nikon developed the, which offers new functions that meet their wishes. The new employs an active brightness control viewfinder and provides all essential information in the internal display. Furthermore, it features a new golf mode indication and a large 18mm ocular for simpler operation and clearer viewing. For details, refer to the key features listed below. Active Brightness Control Viewfinder for easy, clear viewing: Orange LED is automatically turned on when it is used in darker situations and brightness of the LED is adjusted according to the surroundings. Easy measurement of actual distance, horizontal distance, Height, and slope-adjusted distance (horizontal distance ± height). The new golf mode provides Horizontal distance ± Height (slope-adjusted distance), plus actual distance indications at the same time, enabling you to determine with greater confidence just how to approach the course. The enhanced sense of distance enables you to hit the right shot with consummate ease. See the illustration below. Choose from two measurement modes Target Priority Switch System First Target Priority mode displays the range to the nearest target from multiple results obtained with a single measurement. This is useful on the golf course when measuring the distance to the pin on a green with woods in the background. Distant Target Priority mode displays the range to the farthest target among multiple results obtained with a single measurement. This is useful when hunting in heavily wooded areas. Light transmittance has been greatly improved for a brighter field of view. This was made possible by using new technology that detects light conditions and, when necessary, automatically turns on the orange LED illumination, and adjusts its brightness for maximised visibility and contrast.
