Monty3D Description 2.1 General Description Monty 3D is a wheelchair mounting system for the use of communication devices or notebooks on the standard round tubular frames of all wheelchair makes and models, with certain accessories, on square frames as well as electric wheelchairs. The unique joints make it possible for the mount to be easily adjustable in any position 3-dimentionally. All M3D models also have 3 pre-defined positions: in-use, exiting and parked for easier use Standard types 2.2a. Monty-3D # Wheelchair mount for communication devices and notebooks. Fully 3D-adjustable joints. 3 predefined positions: in-use, exiting and parked. A quick removal of the mount from the wheelchair is possible by easily pulling upwards. 11 2.5. (2) Swivel-Joints MONTY-3D-2-Swivel-Joint MONTY-3D-Swivel-unit. Three positions, in-use position, exiting position and park position. A quick removal of the mount from the wheelchair is possible by an easily pulling upward. 2.2 MONTY-3D-2-Swivel-Joint-S MONTY-3D-Swivel-unit with quick clamp, free-from-play connection between vertical tube and clamp. Clamping force adjustable. 11

(3) Tube-Coupling (elbow) Monty-3D-3-Fold down unit Fold-down-unit to move the device easily up and then to the side of the wheelchair. 3.2 Monty-3D-3-Uni QuickShift MONTY-3D Universal QuickShift joint. Ergonomic quick adjustment by handle - w/o tool. Connects vertical and horizontal tube (or any other M3D-tube) 3-dimensionally without any restrictions. 3.3 Monty-3D-3-Universal MONTY-3D Universal joint. Connects vertical and horizontal tube (or any other M3D-tube) 3 dimensionally without any restrictions. 12

13 2.7. (4) Quick-Release Sockets UDS QuickShift Universal-device-socket with ball-joint and QuickShift-adjustment. Very easy handling due to the handle which clamps firmly all joints without use of any tool. 4.2 UDS-DC Special Universal Device Socket for heavy devices & those that need frequent adjustment (like EyeControled devices). Ball joint is separately clamped which allows comfortable and precise positioning without carrying the weight of the device. 13

14 2.8. Monty-3D Mounting Suggestion The number of different part combinations possible for the Monty-3D are many. The creation of a mount is demonstrated here by only one example. Please choose the compatible parts you need for your application. Step 1 You will find different applications in the Appendix. Choose compatible frame clamp (1) This example uses a clamp for a round wheelchair frame. 14

15 Step 2 Choose compatible tube-coupling (1) This example uses 3 tubes. Step 3 Select first tube as needed and insert into tube-coupling as shown, then tighten screw to secure first tube. 15

16 Step 4 Select desired swivel-joint (2). Attach swivel-joint as shown and tighten screw to secure swivel-joint. Step 5 Select the second tube as needed and attach stopper clamp as shown 16

17 Step 6 Insert second tube into swivel-joint and select and attach desired tubecoupling(elbow) (3) onto second tube. Step 7 Select the third tube as needed and insert into tube-coupling(elbow) (3) as shown and tighten to secure third tube. 17

Monty-Control-Mount (MCM) Description 3.1 General Description The MCM system offers a simple yet sturdy and versatile way to mount control devices such as buttons or joysticks on either side of the headrests of wheelchairs or other locations. A switch adapter of your choice is included (please specify), as well as round frame clamp 10 to 16mm in diameter. 3.2 MCM-Parts M.1 MCM16-1-Base Special MCM tube clamp, for securing first tube onto any frame attachment M.2 MCM16-16 QS lock MONTY CONTROL MOUNT-16/16 QS-connector with lever. Connects 16mm to another 16mm tube. M.3 MCM16-10 QS lock MONTY CONTROL MOUNT-16/10 QS-connector with lever. Connects 16mm tube to a 10mm tube. M.4 MCM10-10 QS lock MONTY CONTROL MOUNT-10/10 QS-connector with lever. Connects 10mm to another 10mm tube. M.5 MA-UB45 Adapter for the attachment of devices with camera function (inner threading) on USMS/MagicArm, 45mm length, incl. counter nut and star handle. 20 3.3 MCM Applications There are no specified standard applications of MCM. The correct positioning is very individual and needs a maximum of flexibility, so in the following there is only a description of one of various cases using a Monty-Control-Mount. You may also find more examples in the appendix. 3.4 Mount Suggestions Select desired frame attachment Step 1 Attach frame attachment as shown and tighten screws. 20

21 For the next steps chose MCM-Parts from following group of parts. Please note: choose a 16mm tube if the distance is long 21

22 Step 2 Position part M.1 onto frame attachment and insert screw loosely Step 3 Select and insert desired tube(16mm), and tighten screw to secure tube. Step 4 Select desired first tube coupling. 22

23 Step 5 Select and insert second tube, tightening the handle afterwards. Step 6 Select second tube-coupling. Step 7 Attach part T.2.1 and tighten handle to secure. 23
