1 Section SECURITY ACCESS AND SURVEILLANCE HONEYWELL 10X TRUE DAY/NIGHT INDOOR PTZ DOME CAMERA PART 1 GENERAL 1.01 SUMMARY The intent of this document is to specify the minimum criteria for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of the Honeywell 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome. A. The fully featured, extremely reliable 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall be designed for the majority of indoor applications. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall offer color cameras with 470 TVL resolution and a True Day/Night 10X optical zoom lens. B. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall include Pelco-D operating protocol to enable control of PTZ dome functions (pan/tilt/zoom, presets, swings, patterns, groups, camera settings, etc.) from head-end devices (DVRs, NVRs, keyboard controllers) using the 2-wire, RS485 data lines already connected to the PTZ Dome tracking system. C. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall provide four (4) installation methods. D. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall provide an OSD menu to display the status of the camera and configure the functions. 2 1.03 DEFINITIONS A. No Substitutes: The exact make and model number identified in this specification shall be provided without exception. B. Or Equal: Any item may be substituted for the specified item provided that in every technical sense, the substituted item provides the same or better capability and functionality. C. Or Approved Equal: A substitute for the specified item may be offered for approval by the Owner. The proposed substitution must, in every technical sense, provide the same or better capability and functionality as the specified item. Such requests for approval shall be submitted in accordance with the provisions of PART 1.05 SUBMITTALS, and must be obtained within the time frames outlined SYSTEM DESCRIPTION 1.05 SUBMITTALS 1. The fully featured, extremely reliable 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall be designed for the majority of indoor applications. The PTZ Dome must accommodate a variety of installations, fields of view, lighting conditions, and surveillance needs. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall offer 10X optical zoom lens color cameras with 470 TVL in both NTSC and PAL versions. White balance and True Day/Night functions are configurable through the OSD menu. 2. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall provide four (4) installation methods: in-ceiling mount, surface mount with bracket, ceiling mount with bracket, and wall mount with bracket. A. General: Submittals shall be made in accordance with the Conditions of the Contract and Submittal Procedures Section. B. Shop Drawings and Schematics: Shall depict the 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome in final proposed as built configuration. The following must be provided: 1. Connection diagrams for interfacing equipment. 2. List of connected equipment. 3. Locations for all major equipment components to be installed under this specification. Document Rev B

3 C. Product Data: The following shall be provided: 1. Technical data sheets. 2. A complete set of instruction manuals. D. Quality Assurance Submittals: The following shall be submitted: 1.06 QUALITY ASSURANCE 1. Checkout Report: The Contractor shall provide the Owner with a checkout report for each 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome. The report shall include: a. A complete list of every device. b. The date it was tested, and by whom. c. If retested, the date it was retested, and by whom. d. The final test report indicating that every device was tested successfully. 2. Manufacturer s Instructions: The Contractor shall deliver TBD sets of System Operation and Maintenance Manuals (if available) to the Owner. 3. Notice of Completion: When the final acceptance has been satisfactorily completed, the Owner shall issue a notice of completion to the Contractor. A. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome is provided by the world s largest and most experienced manufacturer of electronic security systems with over seventy (70) years of experience in the security industry. Honeywell shall provide 24/7 technical assistance and support via a toll-free telephone number at no extra charge DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING A. General: Delivery, storage, and handling of the 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall be in accordance with the manufacturer s recommendations. B. Ordering: The manufacturer s ordering instructions and lead-time requirements must be followed in order to avoid installation delays. C. Delivery: The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall be delivered in the manufacturer s original, unopened, undamaged container with identification labels intact. Document Rev B

Storage and Protection: The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall be stored and protected from exposure to harmful weather conditions and at the environmental conditions recommended by the manufacturer PROJECT CONDITIONS To be added by specifications writer SEQUENCING To be added by specifications writer SCHEDULING To be added by specifications writer WARRANTY A. General: The warranty period shall be a minimum of twenty-four (24) months from the manufacture date code under normal use and service MAINTENANCE A. Preventative Maintenance Agreement during Warranty: As a separate price item, the Contractor shall provide preventative maintenance during the warranty period. Maintenance shall include, but not be limited to: 1. Labor and materials, at no additional cost, to repair the 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome. 2. Labor and materials, at no additional cost, to test and provide adjustments to the 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome. 3. Regular inspections. B. Preventative Maintenance Agreement: As a separate price item, the Contractor shall provide a complete Maintenance Agreement for a period of TBD months after the conclusion of the warranty period. The Maintenance Agreement shall include, but not be limited to: 1.13 TRAINING 1. Labor and materials, at no additional cost, to repair the 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome. 2. Labor and materials, at no additional cost, to test and provide adjustments to the Performance Dome. 3. Regular inspections. A. Operator training shall be conducted for a minimum of TBD sessions, with a session length of TBD hours at the customer s site. Document Rev B

5 B. Training shall include, but not be limited to the 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome operation and diagnostics. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall include, as a minimum, the following features/functions/specifications: 1. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome must be protected by the most extensive support services in the industry, including Customer Service, Pre- Sales Applications Assistance, After-Sales Technical Assistance, access to Technical Online Support, and Online Training using web conferencing. 2. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome and its components shall be thoroughly tested before shipping from the manufacturer s facility. 3. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall use dip switches on the main board for setting the camera ID, communication protocol, and baud rate. 4. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome must be available with a 470 TVL NTSC or PAL resolution, color, advanced digital signal processing (DSP) camera. The digital zoom can be software-adjustable via a simple on-screen menu. Available zoom and performance specifications are listed in the following table: Document Rev B

This mode automatically changes focus modes between manual focus mode and auto focus mode by operation. Manual focus mode activates during preset operation and auto focus mode activates during jog operation. In manual focus mode, focus data is memorized for each preset in advance. When the camera arrives at a preset it calls the focus corresponding to that preset, shortening the focus time. The focus mode automatically changes to auto focus mode when jog operation starts. 6. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall incorporate a sealed, precision gold slip ring to provide 360º of continuous rotation. The PTZ Dome must automatically adjust pan and tilt speed in proportion to the zoom position for greater control. Manual pan speeds must range from 0.05º to 360º per second. The operator shall have the ability to program the maximum manual speeds to be no more than 90º per second for pan and one half of the pan settings per second for tilt. The speed to preset shall be no less than 360º per second. Document Rev B

7 7. Upon power-up, the 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall display an initialization screen showing the dome firmware version, camera address, baud rate, and so on. Unless programmed to do so, the PTZ dome shall not begin initializing until it has received its first control command. This feature keeps the entire dome system from initializing simultaneously after a power failure. The initialization screen disappears after a few seconds. 8. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall allow the user to set a camera ID and shall insert the ID into the video for viewing on a monitor. In addition, a digital zoom label shall be available to display the current digital zoom magnification. 9. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall have the option to reverse the pan and/or the tilt direction via an on-screen menu setting. When enabled, a left pan command shall cause the unit to pan right, a right pan command shall cause the unit to pan left, an up tilt command shall cause the unit to tilt down, and a down tilt command shall cause the unit to tilt up. 10. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall be able to display the pan azimuth and the tilt elevation/declination, in degrees, on the video. The operator must have the ability to turn the coordinates on or off. 11. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall feature on-screen menus for programming PTZ dome parameters. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall feature on-screen menus for programming PTZ dome parameters. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall support 127 programmable preset positions. Camera parameters, such as White Balance, Auto Exposure, and others, can be set up independently and each preset can have its own parameter values independently from the other presets. A list of each dome s programmed presets, displaying the preset numbers and titles, must be available for viewing on the monitor. 13. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall include a frame freeze function. This feature freezes the scene on the monitor when going to a preset. At the start point of a preset movement, the camera starts freezing the image of the start point. The camera keeps displaying the image of the start point during the preset movement and does not display the images the camera gets during the preset movement. As soon as the camera stops at the preset end point, the camera starts displaying live images from the preset end point. The operator must have the ability to turn this feature on or off. 14. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall support up to eight (8) programmable swings. In the swing function, the camera moves repetitively between two preset positions at programmed speeds. When a swing function runs, the camera moves from the preset assigned as the first point to the preset assigned as the second point in a clockwise direction. Then the camera moves from the preset assigned as the second point to the preset assigned as the first point in a counterclockwise direction. The swing speed between the two preset positions ranges from 1º/sec to 180º/sec. The swing can be programmed to run only once or to run continuously until halted by the operator. All programming shall be done utilizing simple on-screen menus. A list of each dome s programmed swing, displaying the swing numbers and titles, must be available for viewing on the monitor. 9 15. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall support up to four (4) programmable patterns. In the pattern function, the camera memorizes the path (mostly curve path) of the controller joystick and recreates the trajectory operated by joystick as closely as possible. A list of each dome s programmed patterns, displaying the pattern numbers and titles, must be available for viewing on the monitor. 16. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall support up to eight (8) programmable groups. In the group function, the camera memorizes a combination of presets, patterns and/or swings and runs them repetitively. Each group can hold up to 20 actions. The operator can define the preset speed, the number of repeated patterns and/or swings, and the dwell time between actions. A list of each dome s programmed groups, displaying the group numbers and titles, must be available for viewing on the monitor. 17. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall accept, at a minimum, the following control codes: Pelco D Up to 255 PTZ dome cameras can be connected to a single controller using RS485 communication. 11 PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION A. Submission of a proposal confirms that the contract documents and site conditions are accepted without qualifications unless exceptions are specifically noted. B. The site shall be visited on a regular basis to appraise ongoing progress of other trades and contractors, make allowances for all ongoing work, and coordinate the requirements of this contract in a timely manner. C. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome must be inspected before installation, and shall be free of any cosmetic defects or damage PREPARATION A. Prior to installation, the 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall be configured and tested in accordance with the manufacturer s instructions INSTALLATION A. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome must be installed, programmed, and tested in accordance with the manufacturer s instructions. 1. In order to ensure a complete, functional 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome for bidding purposes, where information is not available from the Owner upon request the worst-case condition shall be assumed. 2. Interfaces shall be coordinated with the Owner s representative, where appropriate. 3. All necessary connectors, supports, conduit, cable, and wire must be furnished and installed to provide a complete and reliable 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome installation. Exact location of all boxes and wiring runs shall be presented to the Owner for approval in advance of any installation TESTING AND CERTIFICATION A. The Contractor shall demonstrate the functionality of the 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome upon completion of installation, documenting the result of all tests and providing these results to the Owner. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall be tested in accordance with the following: 1. The Contractor shall conduct a complete inspection and test of all installed 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome equipment. This includes testing and verifying operation with connected equipment. 12 2. The Contractor shall provide staff to test all devices and all operational features of the system for witness by the Owner s representative and the Authority Having jurisdiction. All testing must be witnessed by the Owner s representative, prior to acceptance. 3. The testing and certification shall take place as follows: a. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall be tested in conjunction with the manufacturer s representative. b. All deficiencies noted in the above test shall be corrected. c. Test results shall be submitted to the consultant or Owner s representative. d. The test and correction of any deficiencies shall be witnessed by the owner s representative, and note. e. The Owner s representative shall accept the system. f. The system test shall be witnessed by the Authority Having Jurisdiction. Any deficiencies noted during the testing must be corrected. 4. A letter of certification shall be provided to indicate that the tests have been performed, and all devices are operational. END OF SECTION Document Rev B

13 Brief Specification The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome indoor color camera shall utilize a ¼-inch CCD with a minimum horizontal resolution of 470 TVL (NTSC/PAL). White Balance and True Day/Night functions are set up through the OSD menu. The 10X color camera must provide sharp, detailed images down to 0.7 lux color (F1.8, 50 IRE). The camera shall have a signal-to-noise ratio of fifty decibels (50 db). The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall provide semi-auto focus mode. This mode automatically changes focus modes between manual focus mode and auto focus mode by operation, shortening focus times. The dome must automatically adjust pan and tilt speed in proportion to the zoom position for greater control. Manual pan speeds must range from 0.05º to 360º per second. The operator shall have the ability to program the maximum manual speeds to be no more than 90º per second for pan and one half of the pan settings per second for tilt. The speed to preset shall be no less than 360º per second. In addition, a digital zoom label shall be available on the display showing the current digital zoom magnification. Camera parameters, such as White Balance, Auto Exposure, and others, can be set up independently and each preset can have its own parameter values independent of other presets. When an operator calls a preset position, the video and preset title must remain until the dome arrives at the next preset and its video and title are displayed. The 10X True Day/Night PTZ Dome shall include a frame freeze function. This feature freezes the scene on the monitor when going to a preset.
