4 Research Highlights Predict AD ( ) FP7 Developing tools to support clinical decision making in Alzheimer's disease Software application designed for decision support in clinical practice Integrates and visualises complex heterogeneous data Objective, systematic and efficient analysis helps early diagnosis A crucial factor for prevention and treatment, particularly once «new generation» drugs become available

5 Research Highlights II Perform( ) FP7 To continuously assess and monitor Parkinson s and other neurodegenerative diseases and optimize patients quality of life. Wearable system collects, records and pre-processes patient s monitoring data, prompts him/her to input food and medication intake data and to perform simple motor tests. Doctor can retrieve data via PC, revise treatment advice and notify patient of any required changes to medication or care schedule. Objective information on status of individual patient allows: Earlier detection of complications Increased efficacy of treatment Reduced cost and increased quality of life for patients Aims to be the standard for evaluating and monitoring such patients

9 Focus Prevention and health promotion - medical technology, medicines and treatment for agerelated chronic diseases and others Integrated health and social care for the elderly, improving home-based care and selfcare; and new large-scale, innovative solutions for long-term care of the elderly Independent, active living for elderly people, supported by innovative products, devices and services

10 How Bringing together major players from the demand and supply side Working together towards common goals, identifying and overcoming barriers to innovation making rules and systems more supportive of attempts to put new ideas into practice helping leverage financing and investment for innovation projects improving coordination between systems for funding research and innovation at European, national and regional level.
