4 Install SIM card and TF card Power on/off the Mobile Phone Press and hold the Power/End key for a few seconds to switch on the mobile phone. A power-on animation appears on the display screen. Connect to the Network After powering on the phone with a SIM card, the phone automatically searches for an available network and then enters the standby status. The name of the network operator will display on -4-

5 the screen after the mobile phone being registered on the network. Then you can make or receive a call. Charge the battery The lithium-ion battery delivered with the mobile phone can be put into use immediately. Battery charge level: Your mobile phone can monitor and display the battery status. Battery status will be indicated by the battery level icon at the top right of the display screen. -5-

6 Dialing Call In the standby status, enter the phone number including the area code, and press the Call key to make a call. To end the call, or to cancel the call, press the End key. Dialing call from a contact To make a call from a contact, press the back button and select the right contacts by pressing the up pr down direction keys. Then press the Call key. To end the call, press the End key. -6-

7 Re-dialing Function In the standby status, press the Call key to show the dialed calls. Press the up or down direction keys to select a number you want to dial and then press the Call key. Optimize the system speed After the phone being used for a long time, to clean up the cache data please go to: Setting - Storage - Cached data Software upgrade Settings - About phone - Wireless Update -7-

8 Power saving mode Settings - Power saving After turning on, it can reduce system power consumption. But if you want to receive data from applications like WhatsApp, you need to turn off power saving mode. Mouse mode In the browser/whatsapp/facebook/zello/maps, long press the Menu key to switch to the mouse mode. If you want to switch back to the button mode, please long press the Menu key again. To turn off the notification, please check No longer remind. -8-

13 1 General Information Profile Please read this pamphlet carefully to keep your phone in perfect condition. Our company may change this mobile phone without prior written notice and reserve the final right to interpret the performance of this mobile phone. Due to different software and network operators, display on your phone may be different. Safety information If your phone has been lost or stolen, please notify your network service provider and invalidate your SIM card (network support is required) to avoid the loss caused by unauthorized use. Safety warning and attentions Safety warning Avoid hand-held phone call while driving Avoid using a hand-held phone while driving, use hands-free fittings instead. In some countries, dialing or receiving calls while driving is illegal! -13-

14 Switch off in aircraft Wireless devices will cause interference in aircraft, please switched to Airplane mode or power off. Switch off before entering risk areas Abide by the relevant laws, codes, and regulations strictly when using your mobile phones in risk areas. Turn off your mobile phone before enter a place susceptible to explosion, such as an oil station, oil tank, chemical plant or a place where a blasting process is in progress. Observe all special regulations Follow all special regulations in the area such as hospitals to switch off your phone because it may cause interference or danger. Use your mobile phone carefully while close to medical apparatuses, such as pacemakers, hearing aids and some other electronic medical devices, as it may cause interference to such apparatuses. Interference The conversation quality may be interfered by radio interference. An antenna is built inside the mobile phone and located near the microphone. Do not touch the antenna area during a conversation, it will cause bad conversation quality. Qualified service -14-

15 Only qualified KONKA personnel or approved agent may install or repair phone equipment. Installing or repairing the mobile phone yourself may be dangerous and may break the warranty. Accessories and batteries Only use KONKA approved accessories and batteries. Emergency calls Make sure the phone is switched on and in service, enter the emergency number, e.g. 000, then press the Call key. Provide your location and state your situation briefly. Do not end the call until you are told to do so. The emergency number can be dialed with or without a SIM card installed. Attentions Please exercise special care while using the mobile phone. The following suggestions will help you to extend the phone s service: Keep the mobile phone and all its fittings away enough from small children's reach. Keep the mobile phone dry. Keep away from rain, moisture, liquid or other substances that may corrode electronic circuits. Do not use or store the mobile phone in dusty places to avoid the damage of mobile -15-

16 phone active parts. Do not store the mobile phone in a high-temperature place. High temperature may shorten the life of electronic circuits and damage the battery and some plastic parts. Do not store the mobile phone in extreme cold places. This will form water inside the mobile phone and may damage electronic circuits when the mobile phone is moved to a constant temperature place. Do not throw, knock or shock the mobile phone, as that may cause damage to the internal circuits and high-precision components of the mobile phone. 2 Get started Install the SIM card and the battery A SIM card carries useful information, including your mobile phone number, PIN (Personal Identification Number), PIN2, PUK (PIN Unlocking Key), PUK2 (PIN2 Unlocking Key), IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity), network information, contacts data, and short messages data. Note: After power off your mobile phone, wait for a few seconds before removing or inserting a SIM card. Exercise carefully when operating a SIM card, as friction or bending will damage the SIM card. -16-

17 Properly keep the mobile phone and its fittings such as the SIM card out of small children's reach. Installation Press and hold the Power/End key for a few seconds to power off the mobile phone. Lift the back cover from the bottom and remove it. Pull the left battery up and remove it. Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot and make sure the gold plate of the card facing downward. Press the battery down and lock the battery in the slot, then install the back cover. Using code To prevent from the unauthorized usage, the mobile phone and the SIM card support passwords, type in codes and press the OK key. Press the Back key to clear and modify codes. Phone lock code The phone lock code could be set to prevent your mobile phone from being misused. In general, this code is provided along with the mobile phone by the manufacturer. The initial phone lock code is set to 0000 by the manufacturer. Once the phone lock code is set, you -17-

18 need to type in the phone lock code when power on the mobile phone. PIN The PIN (Personal Identification Number, 4 to 8 digits) code prevents your SIM card from being used by unauthorized people. In general, the PIN is supplied with SIM card by the network operator. If PIN check is enabled, you need to enter the PIN each time when you power on your mobile phone. The SIM card will be locked if you enter wrong PIN code three times. Unlocking methods as follows: -Enter the correct PUK according to the screen tips to unlock the SIM card. -Then enter the new PIN and press the ok key. -Enter the new PIN again and then press the ok key. -If the PUK is correct, the SIM card will be unlocked and the PIN will be reset. Note: The SIM card will be locked if you input wrong PIN code three times. To unlock the SIM card, you need to enter the PUK. In general, the PUK can be obtained from the network operator. -18-

19 PUK The PUK (Personal Unlocking Key) code is required to change a blocked PIN. It is supplied with the SIM card. If not, contact your network operator. If you enter the wrong PUK code for 10 times, SIM card will be invalid. Please contact the network operator to replace the SIM card. Barring code A barring code is required for setting the call barring function. You can obtain this code from the network operator to set the call barring function. Installing SD card The micro SD card is a pluggable mobile storage card for the mobile phone. To install the micro SD card, insert the card into the card slot under the back cover. The maximum support is 32G. To remove the micro SD card, push down on the lock catch and slide the card out. Note: The mobile phone cannot automatically identify the micro SD card being inserted when the mobile phone is powered on. You must restart the mobile phone, so that the phone can -19-

20 identify the micro SD card. The SD card is a miniature object. Keep it out of the reach of small children for fear that they may swallow it. Charging the battery The lithium-ion battery delivered with the mobile phone can be put into use immediately. Battery charge level: Your mobile phone can monitor and display the battery status. The battery status is indicated by the battery level icon at the top right of the display screen. When the battery is insufficient, the mobile phone prompts "Battery low". An alert tone will be given off when the battery level is too low once you set an alert. A charging animation appears when the battery is being charged. When the charging is completed, the animation disappears. Using a travel adapter. Install the battery into the mobile phone before charge the battery. Connect the adapter of the travel charger with the charging port in the mobile phone. -20-

21 Ensure that the adapter is fully inserted. Insert the plug of the travel charger to an appropriate power outlet. During the charging, the battery level grids in the battery icon keep flickering until the battery charging finished. The battery icon will no longer flicker when the charging process is completed. Note:Ensure that the plug of the charger, the plug of the earphone, and the plug of the USB cable are inserted correctly. Wrong insertion may cause charging failure or other problems. Before charging, ensure that the standard voltage and frequency of the local mains supply match the rated voltage and power of the travel charger. Use the battery The performance of a battery is subject to multiple factors: radio network configuration, signal strength, ambient temperature, chosen functions or settings, phone fittings, and the voice, data or other application mode you choose to use. To guarantee the optimal performance of your battery, please stick to the following rules: Use only the battery provided by KONKA. Otherwise, damage or even injuries could be caused during charging. You may also void the warranty. Power off the mobile phone before removing the battery. -21-

22 The charging process lasts a long time for a new battery or a long time no use battery. If the battery voltage is too low to power on the mobile phone, charge the battery for a longer time. In this case, the battery icon does not flicker until a long time after the battery enters the charge status. During charging, ensure the battery is placed in a room temperature environment or in an environment close to room temperature. Immediately stop the charging process if the battery produces odor, overheats, cracks, distorts or has other damage, or if the electrolyte leaks. Long time using battery will have capacity issue, the long battery use, the less capacity have. Once the capacity cannot satisfy the normal usage, please purchase a standard KONKA battery. Using any poor-quality fittings will cause harm to your mobile phone and may be dangerous. Note: To guarantee your personal safety and protect the environment, be careful when disposing the battery. Return the old battery to KONKA or place it in specified battery reclamation areas. Do not dispose the battery with normal household waste. Warning: Short circuits of the battery may cause explosion, fire, personal injury or other severe consequences. -22-

23 Powering On/Off the Mobile Phone Power On the Mobile Phone Press and hold the Power Key for a few seconds to switch on the mobile phone. A power-on animation appears on the display screen. -Enter the phone lock code and press the ok key when required. The original code is Enter the PIN and press the ok key when required. The PIN is provided by the network operator together with SIM card. Power off the Mobile Phone Press and hold the Power Key for a few seconds to power off the mobile phone. Connect to the Network After powering on the phone with a SIM card, the phone automatically searches for an available network and then enters the standby status. The name of the network operator will display in the screen after the mobile phone being registered on the network. Then you can make or receive a call. Dialing Call In the standby status, enter the phone number including the area code, and press the Call key -23-

24 to make a call. To end the call, or to cancel the call, press the End key. Dialing an international call Long Press the * key can input "+". Then input the country code, the area code and the telephone number. Finally, press the Call key. Dialing call from a contact To make a call from a contact, press the back button and select the right contacts by pressing the up or down direction keys. Then press the Call key. To end the call, press the Power/End key. Re-dialing Function In the standby state, press the Call key to show the dialed calls. Press the up or down direction keys to select a number you want to dial and then press the Call key. Answering incoming calls Press the Call key to answer incoming calls. Press the Power/End key to end the current conversation. Using options during a conversation Select options during a conversation to speaker, to pause, end the ongoing call, originate a new call, set the mute or start recording. -24-

25 Use the Headset It will show the headset icon when you insert headset. Make sure you insert the headset to the bottom of the headphone jack so you can listen to audio files clearly. Input method This mobile phone provides multiple input methods, including English input and numeric input. You can use these input methods when editing the phonebook, short messages, files and so on. Icons for Input Methods After you enter an edit window such as a window for editing the Names or SMS messages, an icon will be displayed to indicate the current input method when you press the # key to change the input method. Numeric input: 123. English input in case: English. Change Entry Methods Press the # key to switch input methods. -25-

26 Numeric Input You can input numbers with the numeric input method. Press a number key to input the corresponding number. Quickly and continuously press a key until the character you want appears. Input the next character after the cursor moves. Press the # key to switch input methods To clear wrong inputs, press the Right soft key. -27-

28 Insert a Symbol Press the * key to enter the Select symbol interface, use direction keys to select a symbol you want. 3 APPS Camera The camera supports the photography function, align the camera to the picture and then press OK key to capture photos. Pictures will be saved in the file system of the phone or the memory card. Facebook Mobile phone provides Facebook function. You can register and log in Facebook to chat or talk with your contacts. After opening the Facebook, you can open or close the mouse mode by long pressing the Menu key. Under the mouse mode, when the mouse cursor is in the active content area of Facebook, the volume side key can also be used to scroll the page up and down. When the cache is running out, you can go to Settings - System Settings - Storage - Cached -28-

29 data, select OK to clear the cache. Contacts You can store the contact to Phone memory or SIM card. After selecting a telephone number in the contacts, press the menu key to perform the following operations: Add Contact: Add a new contact to phonebook. Delete contact: Delete the telephone number from the phonebook. Import/Export: You can copy contacts from SIM card/phone contact to SD card/phone storage, or copy contacts from SD card/phone storage to SIM card/phone contact. Settings: Sort contact list by first name or last name. Messaging The phone supports Short Messaging Service (SMS) and Multimedia Message Service (MMS). You can send text messages and manage the messages you sent and received. In the message, press the menu key to see options for that message. New message New SMS: In this menu, you can edit and send new messages. The operations for editing messages are as follows: -29-

30 Select it to create a message, set the telephone number of the recipients or select the Contact, and synchronously edit the content of SMS. Select + icon Options to select add picture, add sound, or add video. You can then send the message as an MMS. Conversations You can store all the received text messages, and it will display the names of the senders. In the case that the sender is not included in the phonebook, it will display the telephone number of the sender. The options for a single message include: Select message, Call, Insert quick text, Add subject, Add to Contact. Select message: Delete or Forward the selecting messages. Call: Call the number in the short message. Insert quick text: Can Insert message templates. Add subject: Create the MMS title. Add to Contact: Add the number to phonebook. You cannot receive new messages if the memory for messages is full. You can delete unnecessary messages. Delete all messages Can remove all messages in the message list. -30-

31 Select to delete Mark the current message or mark all, then delete them. Settings Text message(sms) Request delivery report: Request a delivery report for each message you send. Manage SIM card messages: Display message status in SIM card, and you can delete messages. Edit quick text: Add/edit/delete quick text. SMS Service centre: Display the SMS Service centre number. SMS storage location: Set to save short messages to SIM card or to the phone. Please refer to Inbox for other operations. Multimedia Message(MMS) Group messaging: Use MMS to send a single message when there are multiple recipients. Request delivery report: Request a delivery report for each message you send. Request read report: Request a read report if requested by the MMS sender. Send read report: Send a read report for each message you send. Auto-retrieve: Automatically retrieve messages. Roaming auto-retrieve: Automatically retrieve messages while roaming. -31-

32 Creation Mode: Can choose the mode as follows: Restricted mode/warning mode/free mode Size Limit: Can choose the size limit as follows:100k/200k/300k Priority: Can choose as follows:high/normal/low Notifications:Can set the prompt message notifications when receiving message. Including the ringtone, vibration and popup notification. General:Can set message font size/show address/delete old messages, and so on. Music Use this function to play audio files. By pressing the direction key can you control the playing process of audio player: play/pause (OK key), switch to last song/next song (press left or right direction key). In audio player interface, you can press volume up and down keys to tune volume. Gallery You can view pictures or images through this function. -32-

33 Browser This function enables you to view the internet. Input the website to be searched and press Enter key to access to the network directly. Refresh: Refresh the current page Forward: Next page Back: Previous page Type URL: Go back to the URL bar Bookmarks: Used to save most commonly-used websites. Save to bookmarks: Save the page to bookmark. Save for offline reading: Save the web page for offline reading Find on page: Find text Settings: Set up WAP-related service FM radio You can use the application as a traditional FM radio with automatic tuning and saved channels. In FM radio interface, you can press volume up or volume down to tune volume, press centre key to play/pause the playing process of the current channel, press left or right arrows to move frequency. Press the option menu can choose Channel list/search/speaker/record FM. -33-

34 Calendar Once you enter this menu, there is a monthly-view calendar for you to keep track of important appointments, etc. Days with events will be marked. Settings Power saving mode After turning on, it can reduce system power consumption. If you want to receive data from applications like WhatsApp, you need to turn off power saving mode. SIM management SIM Information: User can modify the default information. Default Settings: Data connection switch General Settings: User can choose the data roaming. You can select Once/Always/Never display data roaming reminds. WIFI User can turn on or off WIFI. Bluetooth The user can turn on or turn off Bluetooth; you can receive/sent a file through Bluetooth. 35 Can open or off the Data connection. Set the data roaming,preferred networks, network mode,access point names and network operators. Audio profiles The mobile phone provides multiple User Profiles, so that you can customize some settings (ring tones, ring volume, notification sound etc) to adapt to specific events and environments. Customize the user profiles according to your preference and then activate the user profiles. The user profiles fall into five scenarios: General, Silent, Meeting, Outdoor and Airplane mode. Display Wallpaper: User can set the wallpaper from Gallery / wallpapers. Brightness: User can automatically adjust the screen brightness. Sleep: If no operation on the phone during the specified period you set, the screen locks automatically to save battery power. Font size: User can set the font size:small/normal/large/extra large. Storage Phone storage: Select the phone memory, all files, pictures, music and so saved in the phone memory. -35-

36 SD Card: Select the SD card, all documents, pictures, music SD card. Battery Battery use: User can view the display and usage. Battery indicator style: User selectable Graphical / Percentage. Apps:Application Lists Location:Switch location Security:Can lock the SIM card and make password. Language& input:select the display language for the mobile phone. Backup&reset:Use this function to backup & restore factory settings. Shortcut Settings Set shortcut functions for navigation keys (Up/Down/Left/Right/ PTT Shortcut key). Date& time Automatically determines date and time by opening the network (WIFI or GPRS) to start data connection. Automatic time zone: When you open zone will automatically update the region based on the mobile phone area. Close to manually modify the area and time. Scheduled power on & off Set the time to make the mobile phone automatically powered on or off. -36-

37 About phone You can see some information about phone, such as: wireless update/status/model number/build number and so on. Calculator Press direction key can add, subtract, multiply and divide. Press ok key to calculate. Clock Alarm clocks are set but deactivated by default. You can activate one, multiple or all of them in needs. For each alarm clock, the ringing date and time can be set. You can go to Alarm settings directly by pressing the left arrow. Sound recorder After accessing the sound recorder, you can press Menu key to perform the following operations: Voice quality: Select voice quality as High/Standard. Recording: select the mode of recordings, there are Normal/Meeting/lecture. Click the icon of list to enter the recording file list. -37-

38 Videos Use this function to play video files. By pressing the direction key can you control the playing process of video player: play/pause (OK key), fast forward (press and hold right direction key) or rewind (press and hold left direction key). In video player interface, you can press (volume up) or (volume down) key to tune volume. File manager The phone provides a certain space for users to manage files and supports the memory card. The capacity of the memory card is selected by the user and can be up to 32G. You can use the file manager to manage conveniently various directories and files on the phone and the memory card. Torch This phone has a flashlight. In the standby interface, press and hold the # key to turn on or off. Downloads Shows the downloaded files. -38-

39 Mobile phone provides the function of , you can register and login to receive or reply with contacts. History In the standby interface, press the Call key to enter call history. All Calls:You can view all the calls. Received Calls You can view the latest received calls. Choose Received calls and then select a received call to delete, dial, add to contacts or send a message to it. Dialed Calls You can view the latest dialed calls. Choose Received calls and then select a received call to delete, dial, add to contacts or send a message to it. Missed Calls:You can view a list of the latest missed calls. Note: When some missing calls indicates, you can select Read to enter the missed calls list. Navigate to a missed call and then press the Call key to dial the number to originate the call. -39-

40 ToDo Mobile phone offers a notepad recording the to-do list details. WhatsApp Open WhatsApp menu, choose agree and continue. Select city and enter the telephone number, when you received a code and type this code on WhatsApp screen and login. After open the WhatsApp, you can open or close the mouse mode by holding down the Menu key. Under the mouse mode, when the mouse cursor is in the active content area of WhatsApp, the volume side key can also be used to scroll the page up and down. When the cache is full, you can go to Settings - System Settings - Storage - Cached data, select OK to clear the cache. Zello Mobile phone offers zello function, you can register login zello. For those who do not have Zello account Connect to Internet: Open Zello - Select New Zello account - Create a new account (follow the tips to input information) - set up - register successfully and login: -40-

41 Recent: You can look over history voice intercom records with recent contacts Contracts Activate the mouse mode, move the cursor to the option -.To add contacts or add a friend through the QR code scanner. If the other has registered Zello account and he or she is online, then you can start Real-time voice intercom with him or her. -41-
