4 What is the SCQF and what does it do? The SCQF is Scotland s national qualifications framework and it helps people understand qualifications helps people plan their learning provides recognition for learning promotes equality between vocational and academic qualifications supports recruitment and workforce development Provides a life long learning route

12 SCQFP and Chartered Banker Institute 2002 The Institute joined SCQF steering group to help ensure framework encompassed a wide range of qualifications 2008 The Institute was invited to participate in a pilot scheme to become a credit rating body 2009 Positive outcome of pilot scheme resulted in SCQF supporting The Institute becoming a credit rating body Present The Institute has strong working relationship with SCQFP and receive excellent support ensuring it continues to meet the criteria to be a credit rating body

13 Chartered Banker Institute Overview Founded in 1875, the oldest banking institute in the world, and the only body able to award the flagship Chartered Banker qualification Largest professional body for bankers in the UK - membership now just over 30,000 individuals 9,000 new students welcomed in 2017 More than 50,000 individuals are members or students of, or hold a qualification or accredited award from the Institute Members and students in 59 countries

14 The Institute in Numbers We delivered 800 workshops to around 24,000 young people in over 400 schools Over 30,000 members Working in 59 countries in over 6 continents 24 face-to-face events this year 36 exam centres in the UK 245,986 bankers achieved the Foundation Standard globally 173,986 in the UK 72,000 in the rest of the world Over 36,000 people enrolled to study for professional qualifications or standards would recommend the completion of a qualification to others 48% increase in Twitter followers 2,375 LinkedIn members

It places our awards in a National Framework It helps clarify Credit and Level for Learners It aids progression both inside and outside the Financial Services Sector It provides progression across education and training sectors It is a requirement of the Industry Regulators for regulated qualifications
