Developer/project manager at software manufacturers and IT-service providers, also in managing positions. 12 How to select your Specialization Track You need 6 to 7 specializiation courses (36 42 ECTS) 5 courses have to be from one single Track (30 ECTS) 1 course has to be a seminar (4 ECTS) If you chose a seminar from your Specialication track this will count as one of the five mandatory courses. The course Scientific Research (2 ECTS) is also mandatory and part of your track. The selection of your specialization track works as follows: The study office (Studienbüro) records the courses for which you have registered for an exam. As soon as these courses uniquely identify one particular specialization track this is the one you have chosen. We strongly recommend you to choose your specialization track BEFORE you choose your specialization courses. 12

21 Team Projects (1/2) 12 ECTS, 1-2 semesters Registration: portal2 Registration deadline: Wednesday, 24. February 2015 Registration is possible AFTER the presentation of the new Team Projects on Tuesday! 21
22 Team Projects (2/2) Cancellation policy: If you cancel the team project you have been allocated to within the first 3 or 6 weeks (depends on the duration of the teamproject) after the official start we will try to re-allocate to another project. There will be NO penalty. If you cancel your project after the first 3 (for 1-semester-TP) or 6 weeks (2- semester-tp s) you will get a "FAIL" for the project. 25 Examination Regulations (1/5) The single most important document stating your student rights and duties: Examination regulations/ Prüfungsordnung! There is also an English translation available! 25
26 Examination Regulations (2/5) Exam registration Dates will be announced via the ing list Attention: earlier official exam registration period for Business Administration Fundamentals and IS courses CS and IE fundamentals exams can be register either for the first or directly for the second round of examinations. Registration via the Student Portal: portal2.uni-mannheim.de 26
27 Examination Regulations (3/5) You can withdraw from a module unless individual in-class exams or assessments have already been or are currently being taken. The deadlines for withdrawals are announced on the pages of the student services You can use the form which can be downloaded here: If you fall ill and cannot write an exam: hand in a qualified doctor s certificate immediately! A simple certificate of disability is not sufficient! If you fail to do so, you will receive a 5.0/fail for the exam! 27
28 Examination Regulations (4/5) You can only resit an exam ONCE You will be registered automatically by the Studienbüro for the next possible examination date! Only in two cases you can take a second resit (so-called Jokers ) There are NO third resits! Never ever! You SHOULD finish your studies within 4 semesters You MUST finish within 7 semesters! 28
