A Business Analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. The business analyst understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. 4

8 CBAP Certification CBAP Recipients Qualified practitioners will receive the designation - Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP ) This certification is designed for individuals with an advanced level of knowledge and experience The IIBA TM is also offering Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA ) For business analysts with less experience For students with education but limited professional experience 8

9 CBAP Certification CBAP Certification Requirements Work Experience Knowledge Areas Fundamental Areas Education Professional Development References Five (5) years (7,500 hours) business analysis work experience in the last ten (10) years, specifically related to the knowledge areas defined in the BABOK Demonstrated experience and expertise in at least four of the six BABOK Knowledge Areas Demonstrated experience in three of the five fundamentals areas High school or equivalent education 21 hours of professional development on business analysis or the underlying fundamentals in the past four years Two references (manager, client, or CBAP ) plus successfully passing the CBAP exam 9
