9 Product certification: DCL Certification Body operates in accordance with internationally accepted criteria and requirements (ISO 17065) and is accredited by Dubai Accreditation Center (DAC)* DCL carries out four types of product certification: (1) Factory assessment, (2) Batch certification, (3) Type 1 certification, and (4) Technical approval for nonstandard products. * DAC is Signatory of ILAC and PAC

25 DCL certification - Adding confidence to green building products and materials Dubai Green Building Regulations and Specifications In the past few years after the issuance of the Dubai Green Building Regulations and Specifications in 2010, the use of environmentfriendly materials and products in construction has become essential.

26 DCL certification - Adding confidence to green building products and materials This resulted in the influx into Dubai of a large number of products and materials claimed by their suppliers to be green or environmentally-friendly or ecofriendly or other similar eco-label terminologies.

27 DCL certification - Adding confidence to green building products and materials Dubai Green Building Regulations and Specifications A review of the GBRS has identified clauses in the GBRS wherein DCLD certification is specifically required. As of 1 st quarter of 2015, DCLD is able to establish thirty (30) certification schemes to address these clauses

37 DCL certification - Conclusion The use of green products and materials has been recognized by leading green building certification programs such as LEED, BREEAM, and ESTIDAMA in the UAE. These green building rating systems grants credit rating points for using green products and materials.
