2 Your Origin Home Gateway What do all the lights, buttons and ports mean? Please wait until you have received an SMS or advising that your Origin broadband service is active. Once you have received this follow our step-by-step guide. Start by powering up your new Origin Home Gateway. Connect one end of the power adaptor to your Origin Home Gateway and the other end into a power point and switch it on. Set up your nbn Broadband connection If you have an ADSL connection then go to step 3. If nbn has installed a device at your premises: Check the nbn connection box is powered on. Take the yellow Ethernet cable and plug one end into the blue WAN port of your Origin Home Gateway and the other end into the UNI-D port on your nbn connection box. nbn nbn UNI-D port If nbn has not supplied any equipment: Connect one end of the grey telephone cable directly into your telephone wall socket, and the other end into the grey DSL port on your Origin Home Gateway. 5 3 4 Set up your ADSL Broadband connection If you have an nbn connection then go to step 4. Connect one end of the grey telephone cable directly into your telephone wall socket, and the other end into the grey DSL port on your Origin Home Gateway. ing on your Origin Home Gateway Switch on the Origin Home Gateway by pressing the power button on the side. Your gateway will now automatically setup - there is no need for you to configure anything. This process can take up to 20 minutes to complete, so please be patient. The Internet light will turn solid green once the setup is complete. Telephone wall socket When your Origin Broadband service is in use the Internet light will flash green. If you have an existing home phone you will need to install an ADSL filter (available from any computer store) to ensure your service works correctly. Please note this is only for ADSL connections. On/Off Home phone DSL Phone Line ADSL filter Telephone wall socket Connect one end of the grey telephone cable into the DSL port of the ADSL filter and the other end into the DSL port of your Origin Home Gateway. Connect the other grey telephone cable into the Line port of the filter and the other end into your telephone wall socket. Finally, connect your existing home phone cable into the Phone port of the filter. Having trouble connecting? Read our troubleshooting tips after step 8 if the Internet light does not turn green.

6 5 6 Set up your Origin Home Phone service Connecting via WiFi Skip this step if you didn t order an Origin Home Phone service. Connect one end of your grey telephone cable into the grey Phone1 port on your Origin Home Gateway and the other end into your telephone handset. Home phone Porting your existing phone number to Origin? If you ve asked us to port your existing phone number to an Origin Home Phone service, please allow up to 10 days after your nbn service is active for this porting process to complete. We ll send you an to confirm when it is ready to use. Your unique WiFi network name (SSID) and WiFi password will be sent to you via and SMS when your service is active. 1. Make sure that WiFi is enabled on your computer, tablet, smartphone or other WiFi device. 2. View the list of available WiFi networks on your device. 3. Select the network shown in your or SMS. It will look similar to: XXX-XXXXXX-ORIGIN5GHZ or XXX-XXXXXX-ORIGIN The X s will be unique to your Gateway. 4. Enter the WiFi password exactly as shown in the or SMS sent to you. We recommend that you use the faster 5GHz network. Your 2.4 GHz network (the non-5g SSID) has slower speeds but greater range. If you are experiencing issues in some areas of your house, or are using an older device that can only see this network, try using this one.

7 7 8 Connecting via Ethernet Connect devices (such as your desktop comptuer) via an Ethernet cable to any of the yellow LAN ports on the back of the Origin Home Gateway and connect the other end into the Ethernet port on your device. Your device You can connect up to 4 devices directly to the Origin Home Gateway via Ethernet cables. You are now connected! Congratulations, you re now connected! What are you waiting for? Start surfing. Troubleshooting tips If you are unable to successfully connect to your Origin Home Gateway via WiFi or directly via an Ethernet cable, follow these steps that may help you get back up and running. off your Origin Home Gateway and any attached equipment. Check that your Origin Home Gateway has been plugged in correctly. If you have an nbn connection box, check that it is switched on. Double check you have followed the correct cabling instructions for your nbn or ADSL connection - it is really important to ensure the cables are plugged into the correct ports. After 2 minutes, power on your Origin Home Gateway by pressing the power button on the side. The automated setup and connection process can take up to 20 minutes to complete - the Internet light will turn solid green when it has successfully connected. If you are connecting your device via WiFi, try forgetting the connection and following step 6 again. If you are still experiencing connection issues please contact us.
