Setup with dynamic IP address and usage of a DynDNS service Notwithstanding the indicated above, the following works have to be done: Registration e.g. under or dynips.net First register at the service provider. Enter the required name there, the IP address is filled-in automatically. Configuration in the router: Under the menu point DynDNS your selected address (e.g. your name.dyndns.org) must be entered and activated. Configuration in the Video Streamer (network): As external IP/DynDNS address, you have to enter your selected address, followed by a colon and the port for the video transmission. Press the Save button.

24 24 03/2013 IT safety Server are easy targets of attack, if they are available unprotected in the internet. TCS recommends to secure the access to the Video Streamer and to establish the connection via VPN. Therefore, you should find a safe server in the internet, which is equipped with an installed VPN server. A various number of DSL router supports the setup of a VPN network. Via the protected network you can communicate securely, because only VPN participants have access to the server. Please contact your administrator for further information. Useful notes How is the IP address of the PC/Laptop identified? Open the command prompt on your PC/Laptop. Entert he command ipconfig (Windows 2000 or XP). Read out the IP address. How is determined whether the IP address of the Video Streamer is already used? Open the command prompt on your PC/Laptop. Enter the command ping If you receive an answer from another device in case of a connected Video Streamer, the specific network device must be separated from the network until you have configured the Video Streamer (via Network, page 14) with a free IP address.
