1 RIGHTWON PLUS DESCRIPTION The Vizimax RightWON Plus is the newest member of the RightWON product family. Its design is based on the field-proven RightWON CPU core with built-in serial and Ethernet communication ports connected on an expandable I/O base. It is the ideal platform for industrial automation applications such as substation and distribution automation. Its operating temperature range is -40 C to +70 C. The RightWON system is a modular solution for the remote management and remote control of industrial equipment bases. It is compatible with a number of operating modes, and handles everything from small applications with a mobile fleet and crew to the most elaborate central management systems. Designed to provide distribution and substation automation experts with a flexible and affordable all-in-one solution, RightWON system brings keys functions into one single platform. RightWON technology fills the gaps between automation, telecommunication, and operation requirements as a local or remotely controlled device. RightWON adds intelligence and capabilities to existing equipment with minimal impact on costs. It allows an upgrade from legacy s standards to tomorrow s technology as it is fully fieldupgradable to comply with new applications or standards, as they emerge. RightWON is a field-proven and reliable technology which enables a simple and worry-free solution. 5 VERTICAL PANEL MOUNT INSTALLATION In order to mount the RightWON Plus unit to a wall: 1. Fasten the mounts to the back of the unit (as in Figure 4) using the 6 screws supplied with the unit and a Philips screwdriver. 2. Fasten the unit to the mounting surface. Keep a 2 inch (5 cm) clearance at the front of the unit for cable connections! Keep a 3.5 inch (9 cm) clearance at the top of the unit for ventilation! Fasten the mounts to the front of the unit (as in Figure 5) by using the 6 screws supplied with the unit and a Philips screwdriver. 2. Fasten the unit to a cabinet panel. Keep a 2 inch (5cm) clearance at the front of the unit for cable connections! Keep a 3.5 inch (9 cm) clearance at the top of the unit for ventilation! RIGHTWON PLUS CHARACTERISTICS The basic configuration supports: Two 100Base-T Ethernet ports (RJ-45) for communication with master stations, a bay controller or IEDs.

6 RIGHTWON PLUS CHARACTERISTICS The basic configuration supports: Two 100Base-T Ethernet ports (RJ-45) for communication with master stations, a bay controller or IEDs. Any Ethernet port can also be connected to a computer running the RightWON Configuration Suite for system configuration and maintenance. Two RS-232/RS-485 communication ports. (Both serial ports can be ordered with 2000 V RMS isolation builtin.) An optional MODEM plug-in module. An external GPS-PPS synchronization input The RightWON Plus provides a full assortment of inputs/outputs: Up to 32 isolated digital inputs with 1 ms time stamping, which can be assigned as alarm point, status point or pulse accumulator. Up to 16 Form C relay outputs. Up to 12 digital outputs can be replaced by rapid, high power, voltage sourcing (static type high-speed outputs). COMMUNICATION PORTS SERIAL PORTS The serial ports are used for communication with a master device or external IEDs such as power meters and protection relays. Both ports support multiple communication protocols, including MODBUS, IEC , DNP3, and so on. The serial ports can also be used in direct or PPP modes for handling TCP/IP connections. Both ports can optionally provide up to 2 kv RMS isolation. 8 ETHERNET PORTS The Ethernet ports are used for communication with a master device, external IEDs, or with the RightWON Configuration Suite maintenance and programming tool. Both ports support multiple communication protocols, including IEC 61850, GOOSE Publisher and Subscriber, MODBUS, IEC , and DNP3. Most of the protocols are supported in both master/slave or client/server modes. Each port supports multiple master stations and different communication protocols simultaneously. For example, an Ethernet port can be used to communicate with an IEC master station, a power meter and the RightWON workbench. 13 PROTOCOL The RightWON Plus natively supports the Modbus protocol on Serial ports and Ethernet TCP & UDP links, in either Master or Slave mode, and achieves simultaneous multi-port/multi-master and multi-port/multi-slave configurations involving mixed media types. General-purpose ASCIIbased communication protocols (ie: serial printer, radio modem statistics, PLC protocols such as Omron Hostlink, Panasonic MEWTOCOL, etc.) can be programmed/handled from softplc applications. The RightWON Plus support simultaneous multi-protocol links with protocol conversion, data translation and gateway functions.
