1 NetBckup 5200 Relese 1.1 Quick Instlltion Guide Revision: 01 Dte: Environment Check Before Instlltion You cn instll the NetBckup 5200 pplince in stndrd 19-inch cbinet (with n AC distribution box) or ny other AC cbinet with minimum depth of 1,000 mm. Before you instll the pplince into the cbinet, do the following: Reserve spce of t lest 100 cm between the cbinet nd the wll nd the spce of t lest 120 cm between cbinets for the convenience of mintennce, ventiltion, nd het dissiption. Ensure ventiltion is dequte in the cbinet nd the mchine room. It is recommended to reserve the spce of 1U (1U = mm = 11.4 in) bove nd below ny device. Mke sure tht the cbinet is lredy instlled nd grounded. 3 Tking Antisttic Mesures 1 Wer n Antisttic Wrist Strp Scenrio 1: Wering n ntisttic wrist strp (with plug) Scenrio 2: Wering n ntisttic wrist strp (with metllic clip) For n ntisttic wrist strp with plug-type grounding connector. Plce the wrist strp over your wrist nd insert the grounding connector into the ESD socket on the cbinet. For n ntisttic wrist strp with clip-type grounding connector, clip it directly onto the cbinet. 2 Wer Antisttic Gloves 3

4 Instlling the NetBckup 5200 in the Cbinet 1 Position the NetBckup 5200 in the Cbinet Position the NetBckup 5200 You my refer to this digrm for device positions in the cbinet. Instll the NetBckup 5200 nd the other devices bsed on the ctul instlltion environment. Position the NetBckup 5200 properly before instlling it. Mke sure tht its weight is evenly distributed in the cbinet to keep its blnce. It is recommended to instll the NetBckup 5200 in the lower prt of the cbinet to lower the center of the grvity. 4

5 2 Specify the Position of nd Instll Cptive Nuts Specify the Positions of Cptive Nuts b Instll Cptive Nuts 1 Insert the lower end of cptive nut into squre hole. 2 Plce the cptive nut 3 mounting br on the top of the cptive nut nd pull it into the hole until it snps in to plce. 6 3 Instll Guide Rils Align the guide pin of the component nd insert it into the squre holes on the mounting ril of the cbinet. b Fsten screw to fix the front end of the guide ril to the mounting ril. Fsten two screws to fix the other end of the guide ril to the mounting ril. Instll 4U wsher plte to the front-end guide pin nd fsten screw to fix the guide ril. Repet Steps 1-2 to instll the other guide ril. M6 4 Instll the NetBckup 5200 into the Cbinet M4 1 2 Slide the unit into the cbinet long the guide rils. Secure the unit to the cbinet with screws. 6

7 Connecting Cbles 1 Cble Connection of the NetBckup 5200 Connect mintennce terminl One end of the Ct 5 (or bove) network cble connects to the mngement network port (IPMI or NIC 1) of the NetBckup 5200 nd the other end to the mintennce terminl or mngement network. A KVM cble is used to connect KVM switch. A seril cble is used to connect the seril port of the NetBckup 5200 to this of the mintennce terminl. Enble dt trnsfer connectivity One end of the Ct 5 (or bove) network cble connects to the network port ( NIC 2) of the NetBckup 5200 nd the other end to the service switch (recommended) or ppliction server (AS). One end of the multimode fiber cble connects to the 10GE network port of the NetBckup 5200 Slot 2 nd the other end to 10GE switch. One end of the multimode fiber connects to the FC port of the NetBckup 5200 Slot 3 nd the other end to the FC switch or tpe librry. Power nd ground the NetBckup 5200 A grounding cble is used to ground the NetBckup The NetBckup 5200 is configured with two power modules. Connect power cbles to both power modules. 7

8 Powering on the NetBckup Press the Power Switch on the rer pnel of the NetBkcup 5200 Power on sequence: cbinet NetBckup There is one power switch on the NetBckup Press it. 2 Check the Indictors Sttus of the NetBckup 5200 The following figures show the indictors in the norml stte fter power-on.
