Changes to cabinet wiring may only be performed in zero-voltage state! Electrostatic Sensitive Devices ESD Almost all SIMATIC modules are equipped with highly integrated components or elements in MOS technology. For technological reasons, these electronic components are very sensitive to overvoltage and, consequently, to electrostatic discharge: The short designation for such electrostatic sensitive components/modules is: "ESD", which is the commonly used international abbreviation of ESD (Electrostatic Sensitive Device). NOTICE Electrostatic Sensitive Devices ESD! The presence of this symbol on cabinet, rack or packaging labels indicates the use of electrostatically sensitive devices and thus the touch sensitivity of these components. These modules can be destroyed by voltage and energy far below the limits of human perception. Voltages of this kind occur as soon as a device or an assembly is touched by a person who is not electrostatically discharged. 4 Preamble Purpose of the functional description This functional description describes all the steps required to use the software application SIPLUS RIC IEC on S7. It assists in the rapid and effective familiarization of personnel in the functionality of the application. Contents of the functional description This functional description contains the following topics - Principles of communication with the telecontrol protocols conforming to IEC and IEC Configuration of communication - Description of the communication blocks and application blocks - Parameterization of the blocks - Appendices Basic knowledge required Comprehension of this manual requires basic knowledge in the field of telecontrol and the IEC protocols as well as general knowledge of automation technology with SIMATIC S7. Users should also have sufficient knowledge of computers, or of tools similar to PCs (e.g. programming devices), and of the Windows operating system. As the S7 is configured using the STEP 7 basic software, you should also have sufficient experience in handling the basic software. Target group This manual is aimed at people with the required qualifications to commission, operate and maintain the products described: - Installation engineers - Programmers - Commissioning engineers - Servicing and maintenance personnel Validity of the functional description This functional description contains the description of the software application valid at the time of publication of the manual. 1. File transfer 1.1. FT_CD_1DB File transfer in control direction FT_CD_1DB is a functional block for receiving files in control direction. The block writes the files into an assigned data block.

A transfer process is initialized from the control center with File_Ready (TI120) and completed after successful transmission from the SIPLUS RIC with Ack_File (TI124). Internal the message types TI120, TI121, TI122, TI123, TI124 and TI125 are needed and supported. The block can be used from SIPLUS RIC IEConS7 V1.3. The interconnection with the communication block (S7_IEC_Config / FB100) is carried out as usual via P_Application. The FB resp. each instance from it can manage in each case one file/db. If using several blocks theoretical also several files can be received at the same time. The files are operated in the Simatic as data blocks. The content of the data block corresponds 1 to 1 to the content of the file. The maximum file size is limited to the maximum DB size. DB comprehensive files are not supported. Necessary parameter like IOA, file name, DB-No. (the DB itself must exist), Timeout etc. are parameterized/projected via block inputs. The actual status is signaled via block outputs e.g. file transmission running/terminated, Faults: Receiving of file transfer messages (File_Ready) with unknown ASDU-Addr, IOA or file name are not replied. The data block has to be already created in the project resp. must be available in the CPU. It must be sufficiently dimensioned otherwise the file transfer is aborted during access attempt. i_timeout o_fb_retval Maximum time between two steps of a current data transmission e.g. successive data segments (messages). Timeout completes a current file transmission and is signaled at FB_RetVal. The function block signals as follows: 0 The block is initialized and ready for operation 1 A data transmission is in operation 9 A data transmission has been completed correctly The following faults are displayed with negative values: 16#8A01 File_DB_Err: The target data block doesn t exist or is too small for the received file. 16#8A02: Timeout: A current data transmission has been aborted due to time out. 16#8A03 CRC_Err: There is a fault in the checksums. The data transmission has been aborted. o_file_db o_file_len 0: still no file received resp. receiving in process <> 0: A completely received file is available in the data block with this number. The value issued at File_Len contains the file length. Indicates the current length of the file. If o_file_db <> 0 a file transmission has been completed and o_file_len contains the length of the file. While o_file_db = 0 o_file_len displays continuously the currently received file length. NOTICE Please note the permissible valuation of the block parameters. They are not mandatory checked for plausibility. Incorrect inputs can cause unpredictable responses and incorrect functions.
