6 2 Function 2 Function 2. General remarks The product is intended for the operation of system CPX-E in a PROFIBUS DP network according to IEC 658. Data transmission takes place using an RS485 interface. Using an optical adapter, data transmission through a fibre-optic cable is also possible. In a PROFIBUS DP network, the product acts as a DP slave and can be combined with up to 3 additional participants. The process image is assigned by the user using the identifier byte during the planning and design phase of the DP slave. For the parameterisation of system CPX-E, the parameterisation data can be sent by the DP master to the bus module using PROFIBUS DP. Using the DPV command, all data and parameters provided by system CPX-E can be accessed. Through the USB interface, all relevant information of system CPX-E can be read and changed depending on the function. 2.. 8 2 Function 2..5 Device description file The bus module is planned and designed in the control software of the higher-order controller using a device description file (GSD file). This file contains all the information required for parameterising the system CPX-E using controller software (such as Siemens STEP 7). The device description file is available at the Festo Support Portal Control commands The control commands FREEZE, SYNC and CLEAR_DATA are supported by system CPX-E according to PROFIBUS specification IEC 658. Calling this command depends on the network interface used. The control commands FREEZE and/or SYNC are reset automatically for: Activation/deactivation of system CPX-E Stop of the network interface Only the control command FREEZE is reset automatically in case of: Network connection to system CPX-E interrupted (if response monitoring is activated) FREEZE All inputs of system CPX-E are frozen and system CPX-E sends a constant image of all inputs to the master. For each additional FREEZE command, the input image is updated and reset to the master. The control command UNFREEZE returns the system to normal operation. SYNC All outputs of system CPX-E are frozen and, from now on, system CPX-E no longer react to output image changes in the master. For each additional SYNC command, the output image is assumed in an updated form. The control command UNSYNC returns the system to normal operation. CLEAR_DATA All outputs of system CPX-E is reset Identification & Maintenance (I&M) The Identification & Maintenance (I&M) function acts as an electronic product label for the bus module and provides standardised, non-proprietary access to device-related information about the network. 9 2 Function 2.2 Address assignment The system CPX-E is composed of a different number of inputs and outputs, depending on the number and type of modules CPX-E used and the parameterisation of the bus module. The inputs and outputs are assigned automatically within the system CPX-E. The address assignment (number of allocated inputs and outputs) on the system CPX-E must be determined prior to commissioning. A maximum of I/O modules + bus module is permitted in one system CPX-E. The address space of a system CPX-E is limited. The bus module provides the system CPX-E with a maximum address space of 64 bytes for inputs and 64 bytes for outputs. Activated diagnostic functions like status bits or the I/O diagnostic interface reduce the number of inputs and/or outputs in the available address space. 2.3 Addressing 2.3. Basic rules for addressing The address assignment of the inputs does not depend on the address assignment of the outputs. The counting mode is module-oriented from left to right. The bus module counts as a module with inputs and outputs when the status bits and the I/O diagnostic interface are deactivated. Activated status bits occupy 8 inputs. 10 2 Function 2.4 Diagnostics options The module supports various diagnostics options, depending on the configuration and parameterisation of the system CPX-E. 11 2 Function 2.4. LED indicators This document describes the network-specific LED indicators. The system-specific LED indicators are described in the documentation for system CPX-E. The status bits are configured like inputs and supply coded diagnostic information in the form of or signals. If all status bits are supplying a signal, there is no error. If, in contrast, a status bit supplies a signal, there is an error. In order to make use of the status bits function, the bus module of the system CPX-E must be configured accordingly. The status bits are displayed in the process image insofar as set by the selection of the catalogue entry CPX-E-PB DP-Slave [Status] in the hardware configurator. If different errors occur simultaneously on different module types, errors cannot be assigned. To clearly determine errors, the I/O diagnostic interface can be used I/O diagnostic interface. You can find detailed information about status bits in the Description of system CPX-E. Further applicable documents I/O diagnostic interface The system CPX-E provides an I/O diagnostic interface in the form of 6 input bits and 6 output bits for reading detailed diagnostic information. The I/O diagnostic interface can be used, for example, to precisely determine the module and channel on which an error has occurred. In order to make use of the I/O diagnostic interface, the bus module of the system CPX-E must be configured accordingly. The I/O diagnostic interface is displayed in the process image insofar as set by the selection of the catalogue entry CPX-E-PB DP-Slave [DP-V] in the hardware configurator. Diagnostic steps The necessary steps for performing diagnostics on the system CPX-E are explained below. 17 3 Parameterisation 3 Parameterisation The behaviour of the system CPX-E can be parameterised with the aid of suitable software from Festo or using a higher-order controller. Here, a distinction is made between the following variants: System parameters Module parameters (module-specific and channel-specific) Parameterisation of the diagnostic memory A detailed description of the individual parameters can be found in Description of system CPX-E and in the descriptions of the individual modules. Access to system CPX-E via DPV By means of a higher-order controller, parameter and status information, as well as the system data of system CPX-E, can be accessed by DPV commands. The DPV command is available only if the bus module is configured with the following option: CPX-E-PB:DP-Slav e [DP-V] 3.. Send parameterisation data Set_Prm In the case of the start parameters, parameter sets are loaded to the bus module by the master. The bus module distributes the parameters across the modules. 3. Check configuration data Chk_Cfg Transfer input and output data Data_Exchange Read diagnostic data Slave_Diag After each interruption of the network system, e.g. after an interruption of the bus module power supply, the parameter record is sent to the bus module by the DP master once again. An exchange of individual CPX-E modules is therefore possible without manual parameterisation Send parameterisation data Set_Prm The parameterisation data is transferred to system CPX-E-System by the DP master using function Set_Prm. 23 3 Parameterisation Transfer input and output data Data_Exchange The cyclic data exchange takes place using the Data_Exchange function. The output data for system CPX-E is sent as an octet string using this function. The string length depends on the number of identifier bytes. With the Data_Exchange function, system CPX-E expects the output data for the valves and electrical outputs. The input data is sent to the DP master as an answer telegram.
