3 1. INTRODUCTI We would like to thank you for choosing a BODET scoreboard. This product has been carefully designed to meet your needs in accordance with ISO 9001 quality standards. We recommend reading this notice carefully before beginning installation. Retain this manual throughout the lifespan of your product so that you can refer to it when necessary. Non-contractual data. Bodet reserves the right to make certain functional, technical, design and colour changes to its devices without prior notice. Failure to follow these instructions may cause irreversible damage and invalidate the warranty. 2. ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL SAFETY STANDARDS This equipment should be installed and maintained by qualified personnel. As 8000 sports scoreboards are connected to the mains electricity supply, they must be installed in compliance with IEC 364 (NFC in France). Indoor installation (the scoreboard is protected against ball impacts to DIN standard). The scoreboard mains power supply must include an easily accessible phase/neutral 16A circuit breaker upstream of the power feed. This equipment must be mounted before being powered up. It is strictly against manufacturer s guidelines and dangerous to immerse the scoreboard in water or to clean it with a hose. Earth connection at installation uses either the TT or TN system. Bodet accepts no liability for any usage not in accordance with these instructions. Any modification to the product will invalidate the guarantee. 3. 4 4. INSTALLING 8000 SCOREBOARDS This chapter presents the installation method for central boards in the 8000 range: 8015, 8020, 8025, 8T120 and 8T125. The mounting principle as well as the dimensions (and centre distances) are identical for models 8020, 8025, 8T120 and 8T125. The 8015 has different centre distances. 3 types of mounting exist: - wall rail mount (supplied with each scoreboard 8000) - wail rail mount BT6000 (ref.: ) - suspended mount Adice: we recommend the entire scoreboard (with addionnal panels) be assembled on the floor before being lifted in its final location. 4.1 Attachment to wall bracket (Ref.: standard scoreboard reference) 1) Attach the bracket to the wall using the Ø11 mm holes (A). Caution: run the cables before attaching the scoreboard to the wall (power cables and console cable). B 1 C 3) Fasten the board to the wall bracket by tightening the screw (C). N.B: if it is not possible to mount the board from a cherry picker, it may be lifted using a hoist. To do so, you will need to use a lifting ring which is to be attached to the centre of the board, on the upper edge. 4

5 4.2 - Existing BODET wall rail mounting (ref: 916,427) If a 8000 range scoreboard is to be installed in place of a scoreboard of an older range, it is possible to adapt the installation without having to get rid of everything of the old installation. 1) Remove the entire existing scoreboard. IMPORTANT: leave only the wall bracket in place: 2) Install the tube interface BT on top of the 8000 scoreboard using 2 screws M10x30 an A. 3) Put 2 screws M10 in B without tightening then all the way. 4) Use the eye bolt to lift the scoreboard to existing wall bracket. 5) Engage the B screws through the sloted holes of the wall bracket and slide the scoreboard to the left. 6) Thighten the B screws and install the safety screw D. 5

6 4.3 - Suspended mount (ref: 916,426) Suspended mounting requires a lifting solution, which must be determined and installed by the client. The centre-tocentre distance of the lifting rings is given below. 1) On the ground, attach the lifting rings (ref: 916,426) to the top of the board. 2) Attach the two quick links to the lifting rings. 3) Operate the winches to mount the board to the desired height. See pages 6 and 7 for the centre distances. Note: to lift the scoreboard use an eye bolt in the centre of the top of the panel and a quick link. Activate the hoist to lift the scoreboard. 4.4 Electrical connections Installation HF 1) Connect the power cord to a mains outlet. The parameter setting of the HF communication is done on the Scorepad keyboard. Refer to the keyboard manual. Power cord 6

7 Wired installation Note: To perform the electrical installation, remove the metal plate on the bottom right of the panel. 8 Diagram of a wired installation: 1) The cable comming from the scoreboard is AWG23, twisted paire 0.25mm². Maximum cable length: 1200m 2) The DIN wall outlet must be mounted near the scorers table. 3) The power plugs (supplied with the keyboards and 800 scoreboard) are to be connected on a VAC outlet protected by a circuit breaker Remark: use on ly the power cord supplied with the scoreboard. 9 5. INSTALLING ADDITIAL MODULES This chapter explains how to install a 8000 series additional module. Mounting instructions are identical for board models: 2NT15, 3NT15, 2T10, 2T20 or sheet metal PUB. 1) On the Ground remove the metal plates to access the mounting holes. For each plate, unscrew the screws then tilt the plate delicately while taking care to not detach the LED module cables. 10 3) Wiring: Most of the wiring is carried out at the factory. This manual only covers the wiring required during installation. > 2 wires must be connected for communication (A) and 3 wires for power (B). These wires are supplied with the additional box and are to be connected using quick connectors supplied with the main scoreboard. > Follow the colours for connection. 4) Connect the ground cable to the metal plate and the chassis before putting the plate back in place. 12 6. INDIVIDUAL FOUL PANEL INSTALLATI 6.1 Opening an F6 individual foul panel This chapter presents the installation method for an F6 individual foul panel in the 8000 range. The mounting principle is identical for F10 and FS10 individual foul panels 1) On the ground, remove the metal plates to access the attachment holes. Loosen all screws on the panel as follows: detach the metal panel, taking care not to pull out the ribbon cables. Three metal plates in models F10 and FS10. Loosen these three screws by a few millimetres only. Fully loosen the screws on the panel 2) Lift up the panel to extract it from the groove. Shift the panel to the left or right, repositioning it in the grooves. 3) Disconnect the earthing terminal on the lower part of the casing. 13 4) Using the lifting rings (ref ), raise the panel to the same height as the central board.. Lifting rings to place here 5) On the central board, detach all the metal plates.. Attach the individual foul panel to the central board: A 6) Run the cables (A). 2 cables : - 1 cable with brown and white wiring - 1 cable with brown, blue and yellow/green wiring. 13

14 7) Make the connections. Most of the cabling is carried out at the factory. This guide only covers the cabling required during installation. > Two wires are to be connected for communication (A) and three wires for power supply (B). These wires are supplied with the additional casing and are to be connected using quick connectors supplied in the main board. > Follow the colours for connection. 16 7. INSTALLATI CFIGURATIS The DIP switch configuration for each scoreboard is set out in the following chapter. This may vary depending on your specific installation, with the most common installation scenarios and configurations shown below (examples shown using an 8T120). NB: in wired mode, the installation number and channel number are of no importance. The configuration of the Scorepad communication (with the scoreboard(s)) is as follows: 1 - Scorepad home menu, click on 2 - Click on Advanced settings 3 - Select the Communication menu 4 - Click on 5 - Select the different settings as relevant to your installation. Example 1: an 8000 scoreboard linked to a Scorepad keyboard We strongly advise against altering the DIP switch configuration of the scoreboard and the Scorepad setup as configured in the factory settings. 17 Example 2: an 8000 scoreboard and two possession displays linked to a Scorepad keyboard We strongly advise against altering the DIP switch configuration of the scoreboard and the Scorepad setup as configured in the factory settings. 18 Example 3: two 8000 scoreboards and two possession displays linked to a Scorepad keyboard For this installation example, the DIP switches for each element will need to be configured after delivery of the equipment. Only the scoreboard numbers must be different. 19 Example 4: multi-site sports complex For this installation example, only the DIP switches for the second 8000 scoreboard will need to be configured after delivery of the equipment (e.g. scoreboard no. 4 below). The scoreboard numbers and installation numbers must be different: - modify the installation number between two sites (sports hall, stadium, etc.). - modify the scoreboard number on each scoreboard at the same site. - modify the channel number on each keyboard. For the Scorepad setup, please refer to examples 1 and 3. Only the installation number and the scoreboard type will change. 21 8. COMMUNICATI MODE OPTIS There are three possible communication modes available on the Scorepad. This option is selected as follows: 1 - Scorepad home menu, click on 2 - Click on Advanced settings 3 - Select the Communication menu 4 - Click on on one of the configurations created earlier. 5 - Click on Communication type Wired mode: the Scorepad keyboard and each display scoreboard are connected by way of a serial cable (BUS SPORT RT+/RT-). Reminder: in this mode, there is no need to configure the installation number and channel number. HF mode: the Scorepad keyboard and each display scoreboard are connected by way of an 868 MHz modem. Reminder: in this mode, the installation number and channel number must be configured (refer to previous chapter). HF + Wired mode: the connection between the Scorepad keyboard and the main scoreboard is by HF and wired between the Scorepad and the possession displays. NB: this mode cannot be used for an installation comprised of two (or more) main scoreboards linked to the possession displays. 21

22 9. DIP-SWITCH SETTINGS Dip-switches are factory configured; make sure the settings are correct if necessary. 1/ Open the hatch on the bottom right of the board. PANEL CARD - 10, 20 AND 40 MODULES In a wired communication the modem of the panel must be disconnected from the panel card and the keyboard modem disabled in the technician menu (see the keyboard manual).
