It also enales the confi guration parameters of pre-existing and new I/O modules to e modifi ed online. These changes are possile on the Quantum local rack and on RIO drops (Ethernet or S0 networks). The CCOTF function thus aoids interruptions to processes and helps reduce production costs. Compatiility with references in the Quantum catalogue The Quantum Ethernet I/O offer is fully compatile with the references in the Quantum offer (CPUs, power supply, I/O modules, racks). This compatiility simplifi es: Implementation of Ethernet I/O architectures Migration from a S0 network architecture to a Quantum Ethernet I/O architecture Rack Viewer function The Rack Viewer function proides access to Ethernet RIO data ia a we rowser. This function requires the 0 NOE Ethernet communication module. Predefined configurations for ConneXium managed switches The use of ConneXium managed switches specifi cally for Quantum Ethernet I/O architectures is simplifi ed using predefi ned confi guration fi les (included on the Unity Pro u V.0 DVD). The Ethernet Hot Standy architecture ensures gloal aailaility of the Hot Standy CPU and Ethernet I/O deices. At the heart of this architecture are two PLC racks (Primary and Standy) with identical hardware confi gurations, ased on 0 CPU p p Unity Hot Standy CPUs, connected ia a high-speed fi re optic cale. The olume of data exchanged etween the Primary and Standy PLCs can reach. MB depending on the CPU. The Primary PLC executes the application program and controls the I/O, while the Standy PLC remains in the ackground. In the eent of an unexpected failure affecting the Primary PLC, the standy system switches oer automatically, changing oer execution of the application program and control of the I/O to the Standy PLC with an up-to-date data context. Once the changeoer is complete, the Standy PLC ecomes the Primary PLC. Once the faulty PLC has een repaired and reconnected to the standy system, it takes the role of the Standy PLC. The changeoer is performed smoothly at the outputs and is completely transparent to the process. The Hot Standy system with Unity Pro software thus increases productiity y minimizing process downtime. Hot Standy system ased on Ethernet RIO architecture The Hot Standy system ased on the remote I/O (RIO) architecture is used for sensitie processes which require an I/O control takeoer time within the region of the PLC scan time. As the RIO drops are synchronized with the PLC CPU scan time, the CPU changeoer is carried out smoothly at the outputs, i.e. it is umpless. 28 Presentation, functions Software Unity Pro software Small / Medium / Large / Extra Large / XL Safety Unity Pro Presentation Unity Pro is the common programming, deugging and runtime software for the Modicon M0, Atrium, Premium and Quantum PLC ranges. Unity Pro is multitasking software offering the following features: All in one software Fie IEC - programming languages Integrated, customizale DFB lirary PLC simulator on PC for program alidation prior to installation Built-in tests and diagnostics Wide range of online serices DTM editor (Modicon STB island) DTM hardware catalogue FDT/DTM function Unity Pro facilitates integration of fi eldus architectures into engineering control systems using FDT/DTM technology: FDT (Field Deice Tool) is the container which supports the deice DTMs. DTM (Deice Type Manager) is the confi guration tool for deices with integrated graphic interfaces. It contains all the properties specifi c to each deice. In addition to the FDT/DTM standard, Unity Pro uses specifi c information from the Master DTM created for the Profi us Remote Master (PRM) module and the Modus/TCP and EtherNet/IP network module BMX NOC 00. Use of the Master DTM allows Unity Pro to perform the following actions: Manage the PLC I/O scan Create the application ariales ased on the description of the process ojects aailale from the connected DTM deices Manage synchronization with the PLC confi guration Create a generic DTM from the description fi les (GSD or EDS) The DTM confi guration is stored in the PLC memory so that the application can e downloaded in its entirety. It is also saed in the PLC project fi le (STU) and the archie fi le (STA). A third-party DTM can e installed in the DTM hardware catalogue. The DTM hardware catalogue can e used to sort or fi lter the DTMs according to arious criteria such as Deice, Vendor, Groups or Protocols. The DTM Browser in Unity Pro: Displays the fi eldus topologies in a tree structure Allows the user to confi gure the DTM deices: Add and delete DTMs Connect and disconnect DTMs to/from their physical deices Display and print the properties of a DTM Transfer DTM confi guration data to and from the physical deice Functions specifi c to the DTM, ia the Deice menu DTM rowser and DTM context menu 0 Selection guide: page

Functions (continued) Software Unity Pro software Small / Medium / Large / Extra Large / XL Safety FDT/DTM function (continued) The fi eldus lookup function scans the physical deices in a fi eldus network and adds the selected deices to the DTM Browser. Fieldus lookup screen FBD language editor The fie IEC languages The fi e graphical or textual languages aailale in Unity Pro are used for programming Modicon M0, Atrium, Premium and Quantum automation platforms. The three graphical languages are: Ladder (LD) Function Block Diagram (FBD) Sequential Function Chart (SFC) or Grafcet The two textual languages are: Structured Text (ST) Instruction List (IL) For these fi e languages, you can use the standard set of instructions compliant with IEC standard - to create applications which can e transferred from one platform to another. Unity Pro software also proides extensions to this standard set of instructions. As they are specifi c to Modicon M0, Atrium/Premium and Quantum PLCs, these extensions support the deelopment of more complex applications in order to maximize the potential of the specifi c features of each of these platforms. 0 Selection guide: page

Functions (continued) Software Unity Pro software Small / Medium / Large / Extra Large / XL Safety Data Editor Data editor The data editor, which can e accessed from the structural iew of the project, proides a single tool for performing the following editing tasks: Declaration of data including ariales and function locks (declaration of their type, instances and attriutes) Use and archiing of function lock data types in different liraries Hierarchical iew of data structures Searching, sorting and fi ltering of data Creation of a hyperlink to access a description from any ariale comment The data is displayed under four tas: Variales ta for the creation and management of the following data instances: its, words, doule words, inputs/outputs, tales and structures DDT Types ta for the creation of deried data types (tales and structures) Function Blocks ta for the declaration of EFBs and DFBs DFB Types ta for the creation of DFB user function lock data types Each data element has seeral attriutes, of which: The ariale name and type are mandatory The comment, physical address in the memory and initial alues are optional The data editor columns can e confi gured (numer of columns, order). All the attriutes associated with a ariale can e displayed in a properties window. This editor can e accessed at any time during programming y selecting ariales for data modifi cation or creation. 31 Functions (continued) Software Unity Pro software Small / Medium / Large / Extra Large / XL Safety DFB user function locks Using Unity Pro software, users can create their own function locks for specifi c application requirements on Modicon M0, Atrium, Premium and Quantum platforms. Design Creating the code Once created and saed in the lirary, these user function locks can e reused as easily as EFBs (Elementary Function Blocks). These user function locks can e used to structure an application. They are used when a program sequence is repeated seeral times in the application or for freezing a standard programming routine. They can e read-only or read/write. They can e exported to all other Unity Pro applications. Using a DFB in one or more applications: Simplifi es program design and entry Improes program readaility and understanding Facilitates program deugging (all ariales handled y the DFB are identifi ed in the data editor) Enales the use of priate ariales specifi c to the DFBs, which are independent of the application A DFB is set up in seeral stages: The DFB is designed y assigning a name, a set of parameters (inputs, outputs, pulic and priate internal ariales) and a comment to it ia the data editor. The code is created in one or more sections of the program, with the following languages selected according to requirements: Structured Text, Instruction List, Ladder or Function Block Diagram (ST, IL, LD or FBD). The DFB may e stored in a lirary with an associated ersion numer. A DFB instance is created in the data editor or when the function is called in the program editor. This instance is used in the program in the same way as an EFB (the instance can e created from within the program). Use within the program 0 Selection guide: page

Functions (continued) Software Unity Pro software Small / Medium / Large / Extra Large / XL Safety Standard function lock liraries Function lock liraries The function and function lock liraries manager contains all the elements proided with Unity Pro software. Functions and function locks are organized into liraries, which themseles consist of families. Depending on the type of PLC selected and the processor model, users will hae a suset of these liraries aailale to write their applications. Howeer, the "Base Li" lirary contains a set of functions and function locks, for the majority of which compatiility is independent of the platforms. In particular, it contains the locks compliant with IEC -. The "Base Li" lirary is structured into families: Timers and counters Process control on integers Tale management Comparison Date and time management Logic processing Mathematical processing Statistical processing Character string processing Type-to-type data conersion The "Base Li" lirary, which coers standard automation functions, is supplemented y other, more application-specifi c liraries and platform-specifi c functions: Communication lirary, proiding an easy means of integrating programs for communication etween PLCs and HMIs, using the PLC application program. Like other function locks, these EFBs can e used in all languages to exchange data etween PLCs or to delier data to e displayed on an HMI. Process control lirary. The CONT_CTL lirary can e used to set up processspecifi c control loops. It offers controller, deriatie and integral control functions plus additional algorithms, such as EFBs for calculating mean alues, selecting a maximum alue, detecting edges or assigning a hysteresis to process alues, etc. Diagnostics lirary, which can e used to monitor actuators and contains EFBs for actie diagnostics, reactie diagnostics, interlocking diagnostics, permanent process condition diagnostics, dynamic diagnostics, monitoring of signal groups, etc. I/O management lirary, proiding serices to handle information exchanged with hardware modules (data formatting, scaling, etc) Motion Function Blocks lirary, containing a set of predefi ned functions and structures to manage motion controlled y dries and sero dries connected on CANopen. Motion lirary, for motion control and fast counting System lirary, which proides EFBs for the execution of system functions, including ealuation of scan time, aailaility of seeral different system clocks, SFC section monitoring, display of system state, management of fi les on the memory cartridge of the Modicon M0 processor, etc. Finally, a lirary named "osolete", containing all function locks used y legacy programming software needed to perform application conersions. Management of user standards Users can create liraries and families in order to store their own DFBs and DDTs. This enhancement allows users to take adantage of programming standards adapted to their needs, along with ersion management. This means that it is possile to: Check the ersion of elements used in an application program against those stored in the lirary Perform an upgrade, if necessary User liraries 0 Selection guide: page 0

Functions (continued) Software Unity Pro software Small / Medium / Large / Extra Large / XL Safety Dynamic animation/adjustment Watchpoint Deugging tools Unity Pro software offers a complete set of tools for deugging Modicon M0, Atrium, Premium or Quantum applications. A tool palette proides direct access to the main functions: Dynamic program animation Setting of watchpoints or reakpoints (not authorized in eent-triggered tasks) Step-y-step program execution. A function in this mode enales section-ysection execution. Instruction-y-instruction execution can e launched from the preious reakpoint. Three execution commands are therefore possile when the element to e processed is a suroutine (SR) or DFB user lock instance: Step Into: This command is used to moe to the fi rst element of the SR or DFB. Step Oer: This command is used to execute the entire SR or DFB. Step Out: This command is used to moe to the next instruction after the SR or DFB element. Independent execution of the master (MAST), fast (FAST), auxiliary (AUX) and eent-triggered (EVTi) tasks Animation of program elements Dynamic animation is managed section y section. A utton on the toolar is used to actiate or deactiate animation for each section. When the PLC is in RUN, this mode can e used to iew, simultaneously: The animation of a program section, regardless of the language used The ariales window containing the application ojects created automatically from the section iewed Animation tale Tales containing the ariales of the application to e monitored or modifi ed can e created y data entry or initialized automatically from the selected program. These tales can e stored in the application and retrieed from there at a later date. Breakpoint/step-y-step Deugging DFB user function locks The parameters and pulic ariales of these locks are displayed and animated in real time using animation tales, with the possiility of modifying and forcing the required ojects. In exactly the same way as with other program elements, the watchpoint, reakpoint, step-y-step execution and program code diagnostics functions can e used to analyze the ehaior of DFBs. Setting a reakpoint in a DFB instance stops execution of the task containing this lock. Deugging in Sequential Function Chart (SFC) language The arious deugging tools are also aailale in SFC language. Howeer, unlike other sections (IL, ST, LD or FBD) an SFC section executed step-y-step does not stop execution of the task ut instead freezes the SFC chart. Seeral reakpoints can e declared simultaneously within a single SFC section. 0 Selection guide: page

Functions (continued) Software Unity Pro software Small / Medium / Large / Extra Large / XL Safety Simulator control panel PLC simulator Unity Pro's integrated simulator can e used to test the application program for Modicon M0, Atrium, Premium or Quantum PLCs from the PC terminal without haing to connect to the PLC processor. The functions proided y the deugging tools are aailale for deugging the master, fast and auxiliary tasks. Because the simulator does not manage the PLC I/O, animation tales can e used to simulate the state of inputs y forcing them to 0 or. The simulator can e connected to third-party applications ia an OPC serer with OFS (OPC Factory Serer) software. Accessing the documentation editor Documentation editor The documentation editor is ased on the Documentation Browser, which shows the fi le structure in tree form. It allows all or part of the application fi le to e printed on any graphics printer accessile under Windows and using True Type technology, in A or US letter print format. 36 Functions (continued) Software Unity Pro software Small / Medium / Large / Extra Large / XL Safety Cross-references tale Data export shortcut menu Data import wizard Modifying the program with the PLC in RUN mode With Unity Pro, changes can e made to the program when the PLC connected to the programming terminal is in RUN mode. These modifi cations are performed with the following operations: The application contained in the PLC is transferred to the PC terminal running Unity Pro, if necessary. Program changes are prepared. These program modifi cations can e of any type and in any language (IL, ST, LD, FBD and SFC), for example, addition or deletion of SFC steps or actions. The code of a DFB user function lock can also e modifi ed (howeer, modifi cation of its interface is not permitted). These program changes are updated in the PLC (in RUN mode). This function makes it possile to add or modify program code and data in different parts of the application in one single modifi cation session (thus resulting in a unifi ed, consistent modifi cation with respect to the controlled process). This increased fl exiility comes at a cost in terms of the amount of program memory required. Cross-references function Unity Pro's cross-references function, which is aailale in standalone mode (offl ine) and when connected to the PLC in Run (online), allows users to iew all the elements of a PLC application when searching for any type of ariale. This iew indicates where the declared ariale is used, as well as how it is used (for writing, reading, etc). This function also proides access to the Search/Replace function for ariale names. The ariale search can e initialized from any editor (language, data, runtime screen, animation tale, etc). Import/export function The import/export function aailale in Unity Pro supports the following operations from the structural and functional project iews: Via the import function, reuse in the current project of all or part of a project created preiously Via the export function, copying of all or part of the current project to a fi le for susequent reuse The fi les generated during export are generally in XML format (). 37 Functions (continued) Software Unity Pro software Small / Medium / Large / Extra Large / XL Safety Application conerters Unity Pro integrated conersion tools can e used to conert PLC applications created with Concept and PL programming software to Unity Pro applications. Concept/Unity Pro conerter (Quantum PLC) This conersion is performed with a Concept application V. or later (it can also e performed in V. or later, ut only after an update to V.). In order to perform the conersion, the application must e exported to an ASCII fi le in Concept. The export fi le is conerted to a Unity Pro source fi le automatically. This source fi le is then analyzed y Unity Pro. At the end of the procedure, a conersion report is generated and an output window displays any conersion errors and proides direct access to the part of the program to e modifi ed. The Concept application conerter conerts the application to Unity Pro, ut does not guarantee that it will operate correctly in real time. It is therefore essential to test or deug all conerted applications. PL/Unity Pro conerter (Premium PLC and Atrium slot-plc) This conersion is performed with a PL application V or later (Premium PLC or Atrium slot-plc). In order to perform the conersion, the source fi le (complete application or user function lock) must e exported in PL. The conersion procedure is similar to that of the Concept conersion descried aoe. Note: Applications created with Concept, Modsoft and ProWorx can e conerted to LL. Consult your Customer Care Centre. Operating system update utilities The OS-Loader software is designed for updating operating systems on Premium and Quantum platforms. It is supplied with Unity Pro software. It is used to upgrade Unity processors and modules as well as to upgrade PL or Concept processors and modules to make them compatile with Unity Pro. OS-Loader software supports: Premium processors Quantum processors Ethernet communication modules EtherNet/IP communication modules The operating system updates are performed as follows: Uni-Telway RS terminal link for Premium processors Modus or Modus Plus terminal link for Quantum processors Ethernet TCP/IP network for integrated Ethernet port on Premium processors and Premium and Quantum Ethernet modules Note: For Modicon M0, this serice is proided y Unity Loader. Online modification of the Quantum configuration This function, also called Change Confi guration On The Fly (CCOTF), is used to modify the Quantum confi guration online (application in RUN mode): Addition or remoal of discrete or analog I/O modules Modifi cation of confi guration parameters of discrete or analog I/O modules (already present or newly installed) The CCOTF function is supported y standalone CPUs for all three types of I/O architecture (local, RIO, DIO) using ersion of Unity Pro, and for Hot Standy CPUs using ersion. of Unity Pro The CCOTF function must fi rst e alidated in the Unity Pro confi guration screen. A confi rmation screen appears when the confi guration has een modifi ed online. Confi guration screen 0

Presentation, Functions Software Unity Pro software Small / Medium / Large / Extra Large / XL Safety Programmale process control CONT_CTL, programmale process control integrated in Unity Pro Process control in machines Unity Pro contains CONT_CTL, a lirary of function locks used to create control loops for machine control. All requirements for closed loop control functions in machines are adequately met y Modicon M0, Premium and Quantum platforms thanks to the wealth of functions in the lirary and the fl exiility with which function locks can e linked together through programming. This solution therefore eliminates the need for external controllers and simplifi es the oerall control architecture of the machine, as well as its design, roll-out and operation. The EFs or EFBs can e used in all Unity Pro languages (LD, ST, IL and FBD). FBD is particularly suitale for accessing control processing operations in Unity Pro through its wizard for entering and iewing parameters and function lock ariales. CONT_CTL lirary functions The lirary consists of fi e function families: Input data conditioning Controllers Mathematical functions Process alue processing Output alue processing 0 TT_PV TT_SP TC_OUT TC_START TC_PREV TC_PARA PV SP RCPY START PREV PARA TR_I TR_S AUTOTUNE PV_O SP_O PARA_C TRI TRS INFO STATUS TC_PARA TC_OUT TC_OUT TC_OUT TC_OUT PIDFF PV OUTD SP FF RCPY MAN_AUTO MA_O PARA INFO TR_I STATUT TR_S OUT OUT MS IN FORC MA_FORC MAN_AUTO OUTD PARA MA_O TR_I STATUT TR_S OUT OUT Example: PID controller with MS manual control TC_OUT TC_OUT Input data conditioning DTIME Pure delay time INTEGRATOR Integrator with limiting LAG_FILTER First order time lag LDLG Lead/lag function with smoothing LEAD Lead function with smoothing MFLOW Mass fl ow calculation ased on the measurement of differential pressure or fl ow speed with pressure and temperature compensation QDTIME SCALING TOTALIZER VEL_LIM Controllers PI_B PIDFF AUTOTUNE IMC SAMPLETM STEP STEP Dead time term Scaling Integrator (typically of fl ow) until a limit (typically a olume) is reached, with automatic reset Velocity limiter, with manipulated ariale limiting Basic PI controller: PI algorithm with a mixed structure (series/parallel) Complete PID controller: PID algorithm with a parallel or mixed structure (series/parallel) Automatic tuner setting for the PIDFF (complete PID) controller or the PI_B (asic PI) controller Identifi cation using Ziegler Nichols type method Modelling ased on fi rst order process Building of control parameters with criterion for prioritizing either the reaction time to disturance (dynamic) or the staility of the process Model-ased controller.
