2 About us MASZCZYK is leading producer of plastic enclosures, membrane keyboards and accessories for electronic on the Polish market since 1983.

3 Portfolio of keyboards Our current porfolio consist of: membrane keyboards, foil keyboards, graphic overlays (front foils), backlighted keyboards, PCB keyboards, nameplates and personalized namepates, We plan to introduce soon the following products: resisitve touch panels (analog i matrix), capacitive touch panels (analog i matrix), capacitive keyboards.

4 Technology CONDUCTIVE CONNECTIONS AND SWITCHES Membrane keyboard is usually composed of number of polyester films to which silver conductive connections and connective surfaces are applied. A self-adhesive foil of suitable thickness (spacer foil) with cuttings where connective surfaces are separates both key poles and forms a firm foil composite. GRAPHIC LAYER The upper layer of the keyboard is the graphic overlay delivering the distinct information for each key. It is important that the whole printing is done on the bottom side of the graphic foil. This procedure enables durability of the printed information.

5 Technology ASSEMBLING ADHESIVE The bottom side of the keyboard is laminated with assembling adhesive. The adhesive type can be optimised according to the surface on which the keyboard will be applied. The importance of the bottom adhesive is also crucial to assure conformity with IP standards by the keyboard and the whole device. TACTILE ELEMENT The insertion of tactile elements in the keyboard creates so called 'click' effect it connects the function of the key with the phisical feeling when pressing the key. It is an important feature of the membrane keyboard because it abolishes the need for additional signalization (sound, light).the effect can be obtained with metal domes or appropriate embossing of the graphic foil (poly-dome).

6 Technology EMBOSSING The ergonomy of the keyboard can be immproved by selective embossing of the keys in keyboard's graphic overlay. With embossing the keys are more attainable and the 'click' effect feeling better. It also enhances the attractiveness of the product application. Customer can choouse among the various types of shape of the embossed areas. TRANSPARENT SURFACES The broad specter of various treatments of a graphic foil enables the integration of transparent surfaces of different quality within every membrane keyboard. Selective adjustment of graphic foil's certain surfaces makes possible for the use of LCD and LED displayes. A perfect clearness and transparency of the keyboard can be achieved if needed as well as only semi - transparency in various colour shades.

7 Technology ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS INTEGRATION The insertion of SMD LED diodes into the keyboard brings additionally simplificity into the mechanical construction of the device. The additional increase in level of integration brings the option of combining the membrane keyboard with PCB which is the carrier of conductive connections between keys and which also enables the integration of other electronic components. CONNECTION TAIL The membrane keyboard is usually equipped with a connection tail, whose length can be adjusted to demand. The connection with electronics inside the device can be achieved through a broad selection of suitable connectors e.g. in case of 2,54 mm pitch the connectors can be crimped on the connection tail. In the case of smaller pitches the connection tail is prepared for the use of FFC-FPC.
