3 Highavailability components maximize server uptime Redundant/hotswap components help keep Express5800 servers running through the heaviest workloads. These components include hotswap harddiskdrive bays, redundant hotswap power supplies, redundant fans, and hotplug PCI capability, depending on the model. All NEC servers use Error Checking and Correcting (ECC) memory. Express5800 servers offer top levels of data security with a wide variety of industryleading RAID options. NEC s system management software and hardware also contribute to the high availability of Express5800 servers. Scalability and expandability provide for the future Each Express5800 server can be scaled from processor up to the maximum, to meet your changing computing requirements. Memory can be expanded up to 8GB on way servers and up to 6GB on way and 8way. Multiple PCI, PCI X and PCI EXPRESS slots accommodate a variety of custom needs. The generous internal storage capacity of Express5800 servers can be augmented by the U disk expansion unit (DEU), which holds up to disk drives, and its device expansion unit (MDEU), which permits the addition of up to tape backup units. The right tools for increased manageability Express5800 servers come with superior software and applications for easy setup and system management. NEC EXPRESSBUILDER installation software provides utilities that assist in setting up the server, drivers, user accounts, and operating system. NEC EXPRESSBUILDER offers guided installation for and Microsoft Windows Server 003 operating system, with driver support for other operating systems. NEC ESMPRO Server Management allows network administrators to monitor, analyze, and manage Express5800 servers across a network from a management console or any PC with an Internet browser. Most Express5800 servers also feature DianaScope and EXPRESSSCOPE Engine. This hardware/software combination permits remote control of server resources via a LAN or standard modem connection. It provides remote power control, remote eventlog access, and remote console redirection, eliminating expensive remotemanagement addin cards found on some competitive systems.

5 Enterprise Servers The way NEC Express5800/0Re, 0Hf and the 8way NEC Express5800/80Rf3 provide high levels of performance and availability when running missioncritical commercial and technical applications. All provide DualCore Intel Xeon processor models. The 0Hf and the 0Re can be upgraded from to processors, and the 80Rf3 from to 8 processors. These servers offer hotswap hard diskdrive bays, hotplug expansion slots, redundant hotswap power supplies, redundant hotswap cooling fans, ECC hotplug mirrored memory, and a variety of RAID options. The 0Hf provides internal thirteen harddiskdrive bays optionally and is available in rack or tower chassis. The 80Rf3 employs hotswap SAS harddiskdrives and hotplug 6bit/66MHz PCIX expansion slots. NEC ESMPRO Manager is included for system monitoring and control of server operations.
