5 Page 5 Chapter 1 Introduction Safety Information 1. Read Instructions: Read instructions before operating the product. 2. Retain Instructions: Keep all instructions for future reference. 3. Heed Warnings: Follow all warnings on the product and in the operating instructions. 4. Cleaning: Unplug this product before cleaning. 5. Move Product with Care: Disconnect all the cords before moving. 6. Ventilation: Do not block or cover slots and/or ventilation openings in the cabinet. These are designed to prevent the product from overheating. 7. Power Sources: Use only the type of power source indicated on the marking label. 8. Power-Cord Protection: Power-supply cords should be routed safely so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them. 9. Non-use Periods: The power cord of the product should be unplugged when left unused for long periods of time. 10. Lightning: For added protection during a lightning storm, unplug product from the wall outlet and disconnect the communication cable. 11. Overloading: Do not overload wall outlets or extension cords. This can result in fire or electric shock. 12. Object and Liquid Entry: Never push foreign objects into this product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points that could result in a fire or electric shock. 13. Servicing: It is dangerous to service this product yourself. Refer to qualified service personnel. 14. Replacement Parts: When replacement parts are required, use only replacement parts specified by the manufacturer. 15. Safety Check: Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating condition. 16. Heat: The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators or heat registers. Additional Safety Information for the User Verify Line Voltage Before Use: Your JVL machine has been designed for use with 115/230V 60/50Hz AC current. Connection to another line voltage can create a safety hazard. If you have any questions about the voltage requirements, contact your local distributor. Fuse Replacement: For continued protection against fire, replace only with the same type of fuse. Installation Location: To ensure proper operation and to avoid the potential for safety hazards, place the unit on a firm and level surface. If placing the unit on a shelf, ensure the shelf can support the weight of the product.

6 Page 6 Proper space should be above and below the unit for ventilation. Do not place the unit directly on carpet. Do not install near extremely hot or cold locations or near direct sunlight or hot equipment. Avoid moist or humid locations. FCC Rules: This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. NOTE: Changes or modifications may cause this unit to fail to comply with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and may void the user s authority to operate the equipment. Patents: JVL machines are protected by one or more US Patents: 6,860,808; 6,692,361; 6,514,139. Other Patents Pending. Packaging: The carton and shipping materials used to protect your new JVL machine during shipment were specially designed to cushion it from shock and vibration. We suggest that you save the carton and packing materials for use in shipping if you move, or if the unit should ever need repair. To minimize the size of the carton in storage, you may flatten it. This is done by carefully slitting the tape seams on the bottom and collapsing the carton. Other cardboard inserts may be stored in the same manner. Packing materials that cannot be collapsed should be saved along with the carton in a plastic bag. WARNING: To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture. It has been designed for indoor operation only.

7 Page 7 Chapter 2 Setup and Adjustments Show Last Update The General tab includes the Show Last Update feature which allows operators to enable a machine to save data from their last update when they last communicated with the JVL server for on-line tournaments. Therefore by turning this feature on, data is stored and no settings will be lost. The date and time will be shown on the tournament screen. Retro Lights The Lights tab within the General Settings folder applies to the Retro machine only. The Lights tab allows operators to adjust color and brightness, determine when the lights should be active, turn them on/off and test the lights. The Default Colors Customization sliders allow operators to adjust the color and brightness of the lights. The lights may be turned on or off by selecting the applicable button labeled Retro Lights.

Page 8 Operators are also able to reduce light intensity during demo mode or during game selection (Dim Lights on Money In), which will reduce brightness by 35%.

After light selections are made within this folder, an operator may select the Test button in order to see the results. Credits Games: The Games folder allows operators to set game credits. The Set All button at the bottom of the screen enables a set price for all games available within the software. The Set Category button enables a set price for all games within a specific game category. (i.e. cards) Select the Set All or Set Category button and enter in the credit value. Click Exit to save settings. Credits Tournaments: The Tournaments folder allows operators to set online tournament credits. There are two options for setting credits; Multiplier and Fixed Price. 1. Multiplier -The multiplier setting allows operators to multiply the JVL server s default price for a tournament game. For an example, the JVL server s default price for a tournament game is 1 credit per tournament game play. If an operator selects the Multiplier setting, and they enter 3 into the displayed calculator, then the following formula will be applied; 1 x 3 = 3 credits. Therefore, 3 credits will be charged for each tournament game play. This charge will be applied to the active online tournaments.

Fixed Price The fixed price setting will allow an operator to set a price for all applicable online tournament games regardless of the default price for tournament game play received from the JVL server. When the Fixed Price option is selected, the operator would then enter the credit value into the displayed calculator and press the okay button to save the price details. Custom Logo s Tournaments: The tournament folder contains a Customs Logo feature which enables an operator to include customized logo s for their tournaments. These custom logos can be used by operators that have their machines connected to itn. JVL must create the logo s and load them on itn prior to the operator using this feature. The operator would then set their machine up remotely and see the custom logos within the Customs Logo Folder. To request a customized logo, customers must contact the JVL Technical Support Department. You may see a sample of these customized logo s below. Date of Birth Tournaments: The Tournaments folder contains the General tab which allows an operator to request their players to enter their date of birth before they play in a tournament within the player registration. An operator can set the minimal age for player s to participate by entering a number into the Age Restriction area. The Lock out Online Tournament setting allows an operator to set up when the machine will disconnect from communicating with the JVL server. If the machine doesn t communicate with the server within these set days, the online tournaments become unavailable on the machine until the next communication with the server.

10 Page 10 Door Monitoring Machine door monitoring can be set-up by the operator in two ways: Passive or Active. 1. Passive mode: Records the opening or closing of the machine door within the Event Log. The Event Log can record up to 12 instances of a machine door being opened when the power of the machine is turned off. The event of closing the door can only be recorded into the Event Log when the machine power is on. This is the default mode for all JVL machines. 2. Active mode: Records the opening of the machine door within the Event Log and also locks the machine.

11 Page 11 The mode is enabled by selecting the Enforce Door Monitoring to ON in the Operator Setup. One operator PIN must be setup in order to turn the option on and to return to operational mode a machine that has been locked. Once the PIN is entered, the machine will then be operational. If the door is opened when the machine power is on, the machine will lock up immediately and display the following yellow warning screen with the message Door was opened. If the door is opened when the machine power is off, the machine will lock up when the power is turned on and display the following yellow warning screen with the message Door was opened when the machine power was off.

12 Page 12 The machine will not unlock by touching the screen, rebooting or even by performing a Factory reset. The only way the machine can be unlocked is by touching the screen multiple times or by pressing the Setup button and entering the valid Operator PIN into the available calculator. Data Print JVL s software supports printing of statistical data via portable printers. (i.e. NSM Data Print 2000.) The printer can be used within the Game User Interface or Setup. A) Printing in the Game User Interface: 1. Plug in the printer cable to the Data Print port located on the JVL I/O Board. Data Print Port You may print when the machine is in Demo mode or in any Game User Interface screen. The printer will make a sound and the print menu will then appear on the screen with the question: What do you want to Print?

Page 13 2. Press the applicable green button for the corresponding data you would like to print.

The green buttons below the Master column will print all (credit and game data), credits or game data for the life of the machine or since the last time a factory reset was performed. The green buttons below the Period column will print all (credit and game data), credits or game data since the start of the current period. This operation clears all data on your machine and starts a new Period, therefore changing data within your statistics folder. If you select the red No button then no changes will be made to the Statistics folder. 3. When the printer starts printing your data, the system will display the Game User Interface. Ensure all your data has been printed before you disconnect your printer cable from the machine.

Touch and Win TM JVL s national random draw patented sweepstake tournament is the only one of its kind. Touch and Win is available on all online JVL touch screen machines. Players are automatically entered into this random draw by participating in JVL s monthly tournament games. Net Challenge JVL provides operators with access to create their own tournaments. Operators can set the credits, dates, prizes, and all other details to customize tournaments for players.

17 Page 17 Chapter 9 Technical Support Upgrading via External CD-ROM, CD-ROM USB NOTE: In order to complete this software upgrade, you will need the following: DVD/CD Recordable Drive on your PC and DVD/CD Recording Software Blank Recordable CD/DVD CD-ROM or CD-ROM/USB drive and cable itouch10 security key in your touchscreen countertop machine (Please note all machines purchased from JVL from August 1 st, 2007 came with it10 ready keys) STEP 1. STEP 2. STEP 3. STEP 4. STEP 5. Type in the following URL within your web browser to download the software file. You should save the file to your PC. Download will take 3 hrs for slow connections, high speed connections will take approximately 1 hour. Once the download is complete, insert a blank recordable CD/DVD into your recordable drive in your PC. Open your CD/DVD recording software (if it didn t execute automatically) and go through the steps within program to burn your CD/DVD. This should take a few minutes. Once complete remove CD/DVD and take with you to your JVL touchscreen countertop machine. Power off the machine. Open the cash door located on the back of the machine. CD-ROM: Connect the supplied external CD-ROM\Power Drive ribbon cable to the Centronics connector located on the bottom right-hand side inside the cash box area. Connect an ATAPI IDE CD-ROM Drive (not supplied) to the IDE data connector and the power harness located on the other end of the upgrade cable. Make sure that the jumper on the CD-ROM Drive is set to the Slave position. CD-ROM/USB: Connect your CD-ROM/USB Drive (not supplied) to the USB port inside the back of the machine.

Upon start-up, the machine should automatically prompt with NEW VERSION DETECTED on the monitor. As instructed, press the Setup button to continue. The Setup button is located on the I/O board (black button next to the Security Key). STEP 8: At 100% the machine will beep and report SUCCESS! STEP 9: Remove the CD from the drive and store in a safe place. TURN OFF MACHINE. Disconnect the applicable external Drive and close the back cash door. STEP 2. STEP 3. STEP 4. Type in the following URL within your web browser to download the software file. You should save the file to your PC. Download will take 3 hrs for slow connections, high speed connections will take approximately 1 hour. If the USB Removable Device is full, you will be prompted to clear files from the USB Removable Device inorder to be able to transfer the itouch10 software files to the USB Removable Device. You may want to save these files beforehand and clear your USB Removable Device so that you do not loose important data. The USB Installer application should appear after a few seconds and you will have to follow step by step instructions to transfer the software file from your CD to the USB Removable Device. If the USB installer applications do not start automatically, you may open your My Computer folder and double click the itouch10 CD-ROM icon and the application should begin. If Autorun feature is switched off on your PC, you should start it manually, select your Start button, then go to Run, find the itouch10 file your PC and select OK. STEP 5. STEP 6. Once the file has been transferred to your USB Removable Device, remove the USB Removable device from your PC and take with you to your JVL touch screen machine.power off the machine. Open the cash door located on the back of the machine.

Upon start-up, the machine should automatically prompt with NEW VERSION DETECTED on the monitor. As instructed, press the Setup button to continue. STEP 10: Remove the CD from the drive and store in a safe place. TURN OFF MACHINE. Disconnect the USB Removable Device and close the back cash door.
