1 ControlNet Comm Glass Fiber Adapter Kit Instruction Manual D ControlNet Comm Glass Fiber Adapter Kit Supplemental Information The following information is designed to supplement the ControlNet Adapter 20-COMM-Q (Fiber) User Manual, publication 20COMM-UM003. It outlines the differences between the typical 20-COMM-Q plastic fiber adapter and the customized CNM-CNETGF-11 glass fiber adapter. For complete information, refer to 20COMM-UM003. You can view or download this publication at ATTENTION: Light levels will cause damage to your eyesight. Do not look directly into the fiber ports. Failure to do so will result in loss of vision. Size CNM-CNETGF-11 is not a standard communication board size. Please see the below figure for the exact dimensions of the communication board (in mm). ATTENTION: DC bus capacitors retain hazardous voltages after input power has been disconnected. After disconnecting input power, wait five (5) minutes for the DC bus capacitors to discharge and then check the voltage with a voltmeter to ensure the DC bus capacitors are discharged before touching any internal components. Failure to observe this precaution could result in severe bodily injury or loss of life. ATTENTION: Risk of equipment damage exists. The ControlNet adapter contains ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) sensitive parts that can be damaged if you do not follow ESD control procedures. Static control precautions are required when handling the adapter. If you are unfamiliar with static control procedures, refer to Guarding Against Electrostatic Damage, Publication Remove power from the drive. 2. Use static control precautions. 3. Connect the ControlNet Fiber cable to the adapter. A 1786-RPFM is recommended for the CNM-CNETGF Connect one end of the interface cable to the adapter and the other end to the Reach Drives shown in Figure 3. 4 ControlNet Comm Glass Fiber Adapter Kit
